A late morning Breakfast
Mia followed a few Gryffindor students into the Great Hall. It was breakfast time, but it was late. Mia had spent most of the night drawing in the common room and was promptly chased away when a prefect saw her still awake at that hour. She grinned at the thought, her mother would absolutely be angry if she found out that she had broken the rules or had been yelled at.
She looked around her, there weren't many students around. Most had run off to their early morning classes, but Mia had yet to receive her timetable, so she was still waiting to get to her classes. She took a seat at the Gryffindor table, wondering whether she would be allowed to sit at one of the other tables. It would have been nice to make friends from all the houses. She tilted her head as she looked at the great amounts of food still on display in front of her.
'The wonders of magic.' She said as she took some toast from the large plate in front of her. She took some butter and some jam and spread them over her toast. She placed the piece of toast on her plate, looked around the table for some fried eggs, took some of those, and placed it on her plate. It was quiet, most of the students around her were first-year students. She guessed that they were also waiting for their timetables. There were a few prefects as well, they seemed to be busy studying or reading, she wasn't sure. She started to eat her breakfast. She wondered if there was still hot chocolate around, it would be a great start to her day.

A late morning Breakfast

Description: Alec is wearing his school uniform, he has his wand to the let side of him and opened on the table in front of him.
The usual chatter as the morning hours slowed and time ticked becoming later later had certainly cooled down. People were more quiet, less peppy and excited, it was likely the reminder of classes soon. Even so, it gave Alec the ability to focus on what he'd been trying to do all morning. And he would be focused on it up until he heard a voice near him say something.
Alec scoffed in reaction, “more like the terrors of magic.” He would mumble off-handedly. The words flying out of his mouth instinctually with no filter. He'd been reading when he heard the voice, having been attentive enough to hear and reply but not enough to realize he had spoke out loud the words meant for his head. The Gryffindor sat across from her, quiet for a few seconds, the only sound from him would be that of turning pages. When the realization that he had spoken out loud and in fact not in his head, the Gryffindor turned to slowly look up, he seemed surprised. When his eyes caught the girl who'd spoken an apologetic smile reached his lips, a light shade of red tinting his face. “Ha -sorry, I'm um- I'm reading a book and it kind of just slipped.” At least this time he could say his lips had slipped and it was true. The book touched on history of the wizarding-world and it felt quite grim, especially what people were capable of given tools like magic.
Usually when he said his lips slipped he was trying to upset someone convenient enough for him, that was not today's case. First-year's like the girl herself had a certain first-year 'glow' and hearing overly-peppy words about a normal meal every-single-day, well, it started to get to a person, Alec sighed. Running a hand through his hair to move it from his eyes he would finally get a better look of the girl. “Your a first-year, right?” He would ask, despite already knowing the answer. He figured it was the best way to continue on the conversation.
“Alec,” he would reach across the table holding out his arm to shake her hand. “Third-year as well as a Gryffindor Duellist. . . And you are?” First impressions tended to be much more of an important thing than people realized, besides having a good handshake got you places and he had no reason to avoid keeping this little chat friendly. Perhaps one more person seeing him as decent would hold back the crusade of others who didn't.

Mia looked up at a sudden response to her dreamy reaction to the environment around her. A rather grim one, but a thought crossed her mind. Even though it was not her first interaction with the magical world, and she had been born into a wizarding family, there were sections of magic that were less, how would she put it, magical. She shook her head at this thought. It was rather silly after all.
'No apology needed, I guess you have your reasons, plus we don't always have control over what our mouths betray us by.' She smiled, trying not to make the other student uncomfortable. She saw that a mug of hot chocolate had appeared in front of her. Just what she wanted, a cheery blush appeared on her cheeks as she took the hot mug in both her hands.
He had asked her her year, even though she knew it was more of a statement than a question, she had yet to change into her proper uniform and was still stuck in her black robes. She didn't mind it though, she loved black as a non-color-color. 'Hmm, yes, I am first year. She confirmed his statement. She wondered whether she should have, some would see it as being rude in some way. She shrugged the thought off. He introduced himself as a third-year Gryffindor, Alec. She had not seen him in the common room before, probably kept to his year or friends.
'I am Mia.' She responded cheerfully as she extended her hand and took his hand firmly, but not pressing too hard, she didn't want to get into a squeezing contest with someone she had just met.

Nothing was special that Wednesday morning. He had class soon, and some more to come, and to be honest, Marius was not in the mood for lectures. For a reason or another, the first year did not have a good night's sleep, waking up every one or two hours and ended up getting up earlier than usual. He was out of the Common Room the moment they students were allowed to.
The Hufflepuff boy ate his breakfast without appetite, and this morning it took him quite a lot of time to finish. However, even after he had finished everything, he sat still with no intention to head for his first class. Maybe later, Marius decided, maybe I'll go five or ten minutes before it starts.
He did not have any intention to read a book either, so his soft brown eyes began to explore the Great Hall. Ten, twenty minutes, and he was less full; thirty, and the lively room had become the waste land. Two conversing students attracted his attention: the first looked like she was his age, while the other two or three years their senior. When the boy introduced himself, Marius could not help but feel that he was showing-off.
"Honestly, who introduces himself a duellist to a person he accidentally meets in a dining hall?" Marius amusedly laughed, not realising that he said this thought out loud. The moment he finally did, his laughter stopped abruptly and his blush was no sunburn.

Alec was pleased the girl had reacted well to that. His comment, his apology. He'd seen enough people around at Hogwarts to know founding someone actually sane was a blessing in disguise, the odd ones were interesting, they made your time worthwhile. She was normal, and he decided that was great. He wasn't looking to start the day interacting with one of the crazy ones. With tempers they had half the mind to snap his wand in half and he would have let them! You don't get in the way of the crazy people, it only makes them more crazy. Then guess who's pocket money the broken wand was coming out of. Okay well that was actually going a bit far, there was a reason Alec had been told he had quite the imagination. It could happen though. No matter how unlikely. Alec watched the wand out the corner of his eyes. No wand thief coming to snap you in half.
The girl admitted she was indeed a first-year and this drew Alec's attention back on her. Alec's overlooked the girl with a certain amount of caution. For a first year she didn't seem very talkative. Was she the type who said everything in her head? Why has she made the first comment then, was she trying to attract attention, did she want someone to talk to her? Questions swirled through Alec head each second more appeared, he couldn't seem to figure out where his questions started and the answers end. “Pleasure to meet you,” Alec said, he managed a small smile and a nod as he pulled away and the handshake ended.
'You seemed to forget the bit where I asked for your opinion.' Alec said, only in his head. Managing to keep his lips sealed. Fun. What an enjoyable morning. Alec had asked for this hadn't he? Bothering to make an effort got him nowhere and this child was proof of that, “me,” Alec spoke he frowned, catching the other's eyes, he would reach for his hand and stand up. “And I have a question for you. Honestly, who listens in on private conversation, and begins to make judgement, perceptions, and opinions on something they weren't even apart of?” Did the child gossip like this on the regular? A living version of a dementor, sucking the hope for anything good straight out of you. A nundu breath...
He would give the other not time to answer him as he spoke once more. “Or better question yet, what made this person feel valid enough to shout out such an opinion in the great hall?” Alec questioned, though he dismissed the question just as quickly, with ease. Better to get on and explain himself to someone who wouldn't understand the point anyway. Alec sighed. “You are either incredibly ignorant or unaware.” Alec didn't care which, he had time time for neither.
“I don't offer out my last name freely, and Introductions are only ever good when given enough information to find and hunt a person down, so I compromise. Hence my use of the title 'Gryffindor duellist'.” That was true. It was also because saying Alec felt lacking, he needed more words to full in the space, he'd had his full name, then dropped some of it, then his first and last name and he decided to drop more once again. His last name. He didn't like the people it was to associate him with. And of course it killed two birds with one stone, for those who decided to put the effort to pay attention to his existence the title made an effort to brush up on his reputation, he didn't like befriending people who walked away because they hadn't know just what exactly the Gryffindor was capable of. Alec folded his arms across his chest as he walked closer to the conversation intruder. He would stop if only for the sake of not getting into the other's face and raise an eyebrow. “You done coming after me sherlock?”
He gave the kid proper time to answer if he so choose, but his answers wouldn't change Alec's reaction. “Good.” Alec seemed content. Maybe all would be good the fairy-tale ending. He flashed sherlock a smile before reaching to grab his wrist. Or perhaps not such a fairy-tale ending after all, a twist bad-guy was always fun.
(This doesn't need to be rolled, feel free to choose whether you would like Marius to auto-succeed in evading Alec's grasp or auto-fails. The latter option leads to Alec pulling Marius over to the table where Mia is seated, where he promptly and not so kindly encourages Marius to take a seat.)

A late morning Breakfast

It was yet another day at Hogwarts.
Hiro was having fun at the foreign school, having been able to meet various people.
But he wasn't done.
Not by a longshot. After all, Hiro's goal while he was here, was to meet and greet everyone at Hogwarts. It was a difficult feat but one he believed he could do.
After all, he had the determination to make his goals come true. This morning was no different, Hiro was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a pink sweater on top of the outfit. Mostly because it was a little chilly, despite the fact that it was springtime. The weather had a mind of its own. Trekking into the Great Hall, since it was breakfast time, Hiro let his eyes flicker around the area. He spotted a few familiar faces and then settled on an unfamiliar one.
One was the boy who had spilled ink over his parchment and Hiro had tried to help him clean things up a little. His name was... Alec! One of the higher-years of Hogwarts.
Another was a boy who had spilled milk all over himself during breakfast a few days ago. His name was... Marius! But the unfamiliar face belonged to a girl he didn't think he'd seen before until now. Hiro headed over to the trio and noted everyone was wearing their school uniforms. It made sense, after all they would be heading to their classes directly after breakfast. They would probably know upon seeing him that Hiro wasn't a Hogwarts student.
He wasn't wearing robes after all.
Then again, he could just be breaking the rules.
There were probably Hogwarts students who tended to do that all the time.
As he approached their table, Hiro realized two of them were probably friends. Alec and the unfamiliar girl beside him. Marius must be someone who'd come over to greet them. Perhaps he was a friend too? No, from the look on Alec's face it didn't seem like he liked him. So, maybe a stranger to them? Well, whatever. It would be nice to reunite with two familiar faces and meet a brand new one too! "Hey Alec, Marius!" He said raising a hand to give a wave.
Then, he turned his attention to the girl before him. "I'm Hiro. You are?" He asked with a bright smile, waiting for her response.

Hiro's hair is pink, remember (in case you can't see).
Please ignore the mic and sweater color, as the sweater is pink as listed above.
He is wearing the earring though.

After breakfast was over, Hiro would head off to do his own studies back at the campgrounds. But when lunch came, he'd return to the Great Hall to find some more unfamiliar faces.

Mia smiled, Alec seemed like a nice enough person. She tilted her head slightly as she wondered whether a persons' first impression was worth listening to. A grimace formed on her face as she decided to ignore her own thoughts.
Mia's attention focused on a boy who was making his way over to them. He was in his casual attire. She tilted her head to the side as she watched him walk over to them. Was he an exchange student? She wondered to herself. He had introduced himself as Hiro. She cleared her throat.
'Hi, I am Mia. It's nice to meet you.' She responded hoping the situation to her side would die down, her cheeks were flushed from the interaction, she did not do well with confrontations, she kept to herself most days.

She heard a boy say from behind her, he had laughed after the words left his mouth. A frown formed on her face, was he being intentionally rude? Did he maybe know Alec and have something against him. Maybe they had had an interaction before and they were unpleasant towards each other. Before she could continue with her thought she heard Alec respond."Honestly, who introduces himself a duellist to a person he accidentally meets in a dining hall?"
He had asked to make sure that the boy was referring to him, the sudden interruption had obviously caught the boy off guard. A frown had formed on his face, she wondered whether his face was mirroring her feeling about the situation. He continued to speak.me,
He had a valid point there. Before she could even respond, he had continued with the conversation. She decided to stay out of it, it seemed like Alec had it under control.“And I have a question for you. The third year and Gryffindor duellist (that is, if everything he had said was true) started to see red, and to be honest Marius could see why. However, this was not enough for the Hufflepuff to apologise or admit his wrongdoing. Oh yes, he did realise that what he had just done was not very appropriate, but knowing that and admitting one's mistake was entirely different matters.
Instead, the first year fearlessly talked back to the older boy, "If your conversation was so private, then you should have chosen a spot where there were only the two of you. Great Hall doesn't seem to match that ideal description... James Moriarty." He paused, but just for a second or two. "It's a free country, it's a free venue. The air in this place is free for everyone to breathe, the voices for everyone to hear and listen to. In case you forgot your lesson on human's rights, it's a good coincidence I'm here so there's someone to remind you today that every human on Earth is entitled their own opinion."
Besides, the Hufflepuff added inside, are you that wonderfully famous that your last name is worthy enough for paparazzi?
Without saying this last sentence out loud, apparently everything else was enough to drive the Gryffindor mad (not that it was surprising, though). Moriarty, or so Marius decided to call him, not-so-nicely grabbed the Hufflepuff's wrist and pulled the younger boy to the table where the blonde girl was.
Glancing at her, Marius saw that she was now talking to Hiro from Mahoutokoro, the guest pupil he had talked to some days ago. He looked back at Moriarty and flashed him a non-sincerely pitying smile, saying, "Oh well, Professor Moriarty. Looks like the girl you tried to impress earlier is now flirting with another guy. A foreign charm, I'd say. I'm terribly sorry for you."

Mia had introduced herself to Hiro only a moment ago when the Hufflepuff boy had mentioned her. Her cheeks were flushed, but this time from what the boy had accused her of doing. She turned to face this boy.
'Where do you get off saying such things?' She asked, a frown having settled on her features as she questioned the boy. He decided to continue his rude behavior but was now focusing on her. 'You may have the right to voice your opinions out in the open, but it does not mean that it is wanted or asked for, in any case, you are still continuing to be extremely rude. She turned to Alec giving him an apologetic smile and doing the same for Hiro. 'I apologize for this boys' rude behavior.
She turned her attention back to the Hufflepuff boy and stood up out of her chair. 'Now, kindly remove yourself from this conversation, or apologize for your pompous behavior. It is unacceptable to eavesdrop even when a conversation is happening in public, or do you make it a habit of following people around to hear what they are saying, because if so that is regarded as creepy. Rights or no, there is an acceptable way to introduce yourself into a conversation no matter what the other parties are saying or doing.
She sighed as she lowered herself back into the chair, replacing a strand of stray hair behind her ear. 'One more thing,' she said softly as her eyes searched for some unanswered question in this childs' eyes. 'Please know the difference between being friendly and being flirty, your voice of reason that entered this conversation with a rude remark on how one should introduce oneself has come back full circle and is making you look like an assuming fool.' She fell silent as she turned her back to the boy, hoping in all ways that he understood something about body language, but the boy had made assumptions about her being kind, so she didn't think he had a grain of niceness in him.

The girl introduced herself as Mia to him and Hiro nodded.
That was a lovely name.
Well, she looked like a lovely person, which was cool, a lovely name to fit a lovely person! Hiro glanced over at Marius as the boy seemed to spark some kind of conflict with Alec.
Yup, definitely not friends. Most would have stayed out of whatever it was between Marius and Alec but Hiro had never been known to pull away from the business of others. He let his eyes flicker from Marius to Alec and back over to Mia again. "Why are you calling him Professor Moriarty? Is he a professor at Hogwarts?" It would be quite impressive if he was. Alec didn't look old enough to have such a profession. But props to him if he was one!
Needless to say, Hiro wasn't familiar with a lot of muggle books.
Marius was indeed being somewhat rude.
But Hiro wondered if he had a reason for this. He'd come into the conversation a bit late and didn't know what had gone on before. Mia's words though were quite awesome.
She seemed to have no issue calling attention to anything that bothered her, which was a skill not many possessed nowadays. For now, he stayed out of the 'conversation' going on between the trio. After all, it wasn't as if he could really do or say anything without knowing more about the situation. If he listened and watched, eventually he'd know enough to make a comment later on. Until then, Hiro would merely be an observer, which he didn't mind at all.
