Before leaving for Hogwarts, Enrico made a vow to his concerned mother that he’d take better care of his teeth, health and eat better food. Within the first few hours of his arrival at the new school, he broke such promises and feasted upon all manner of sugars. His teeth were already in a precarious state, braces and all. But he really didn’t care or worry about the consequences of his actions and proceeded to continuously lie about his progress whenever he had the chance to send letters to his family.

Over Christmas break, Enrico’s biggest secret was alas exposed, and he missed out on all the cakes his grandmother had baked for the festivities. Nothing filled him with so much madness as much as such neglect did. He threw the biggest tantrum of the year and refused to eat anything that was not sweet. That was until his stomach kept on rumbling in fury and eventually gave in. After he had calmed down, he promised to both his mother and himself that he’d take care to not consume any more teeth-killing snacks and would do his best to resist such tendencies. A new year’s resolution, so to speak.

However, that didn’t last long. Upon his return, he had spent most of his money at the train’s candy trolley and carried the lot of purchased foods back to the castle in a bag that he had brought with him to serve such a singular purpose. Now that he had no one watching over him and commanding him on what to do, Enrico felt a bit more relaxed within his environment. But that did not stop him from consciously being aware that what he was doing was wrong. And so there he sat, a few days later after the semester had begun, contemplating the meaning of life and whether or not should he devour every bit of treat that was inside his bag.

A sudden hit of guilt made his heart squeal in disappointment, but the thought of happiness struck when he bit and chewed on a green Jelly Slug that filled his mouth with a watering taste of balanced sweetness and bitterness. Nothing ever tasted better as he closed his eyes and passionately ate the rest of the thing within seconds. A second one quickly followed as his chewing started to become more obnoxious the more he ate. He was probably being heard from the other side of the courtyard, as he sat on one of the courtyard’s open windows, his legs on each side of the split. The candy was scattered all over the stone platform, as his head laid against the arched wall.

There was far too much candy for a single person, especially for someone so short. He wouldn’t have been against the idea of eating all on his own, but maybe if he left some of it for next week, then maybe he wouldn’t have to trouble himself about feeling absolutely so miserable about doing what he loved.

“Mother won’t know, mother doesn’t know. She’ll probably forget about it anyway and I won’t have to go to the dentist.” And then he was certain he heard his mother’s angry stomps coming from behind…

It was that time of month again.

Hair color change!

Kim tended to change the color of his hair once a month.

He'd eventually decided on blue for January, as he felt it was fitting. During cold winter months, one couldn't help but feel blue at times.

So.

On a normal day, Kim didn't tend to get up early in the morning because well it was morning.

Morning implied early hours and Kim did not do early hours.

So what was he doing awake at 8:05AM?

Today was Thursday. And Thursday meant Flying Class. Therefore, Kim was stressing out about it. As a result, he hadn't been able to sleep well and thus was up early in the morning for once. He didn't want to go. Kim's lessons with his 'friend' Hana when it came to flying were not really going that well. But it was progress. Better than it would have been without any help at all. However, he still didn't like it and kept wanting to skip the class all the time.

Thankfully, when he graduated in around six months, he wouldn't have to take flying class again. All he needed to do was be able to pass it his first year and that was what Hana was for. Both of them shared a similar distaste for flying and Quidditch in general. Kim didn't mind Quidditch if he was forced to watch it but he would avoid it like the plague if it meant he had to get involved. Broom races were much the same. Although if it was a choice between them..

Broom races were better.

At least they were closer to the ground than Quidditch.

Kim decided to head outside to get some fresh air and clear his thoughts. As he was walking down the hallway, the sound of loud chewing met his ears. What the hell was that sound?

He looked around, a bit grouchy due to the early morning hours and the fact that today was flying class, and eventually spotted a lone boy sitting on one of the open windows of the courtyard. The student had brown hair and looked shorter than him by a great deal. And that was where the sound was coming from. The boy was chewing and Kim raised a brow. Did he really have to chew that loud? As Kim drew closer to the scene, he saw various sweets there.

Sweets?

His mood instantly perked up a bit.

There were a lot of them scattered all over the stone platform.

One lone silver earring dangled from his left ear and swung around as Kim leaned down and swiped a piece of chocolate off the platform and put it into his mouth.

Kim's hair is blue remember.
He's also wearing his Gryffindor robes as it's time for class soon.

"Thanks." Kim said as he let his eyes flicker over the other boy before him.

"What are you doing out here alone at such an early hour?" Kim asked, curious.

Enrico’s eyes had remained shut close, his hands hand crept up to sit warmly underneath his armpits as he clung onto his own robes, shaking. He envisioned his mother coming at him with a frying pan, all riled up and ready to scream her son’s name at the top of her lungs in every accent she knew. Then he felt a presence, and a chilly, easy wind passed by. His eyes remained close and Enrico intended on having them stay so. That was until he heard a voice that wasn’t so grizzly as he thought it would be but nearly sent him off to fall to his side anyway.

He managed to grasp and hold still onto the pillar behind him as his eyes gazed upon the stranger with flamboyant hair, coloured like a frozen lake. The Hufflepuff clenched his heart and relaxed his head as he then released a heavy sigh.
“Where did you come from?!” Enrico asked, still traumatized by the whole experience.
“You really didn’t have to creep up on me. I thought you were my mu- I mean- a prefect, or a professor! I’m pretty sure I would have lost a life if was I a cat.” For all Enrico knew, mayhaps the fellow student was indeed some authority, he just didn’t look the part. The short boy had also tried his best to keep memory of all the prefects at Hogwarts, that way he’d know when to stay alert or when to not worry when causing trouble. So it was safe to say that he had never seen this boy around prior to this unexpected encounter.

Enrico then proceeded to narrow his eyes, judging the blue-haired boy as if he had just committed the worst crime in wizardkind. Enrico was that one kid at school who refused to share and still believed that the world revolved around him. His attitude at three years old was the same attitude he had now. It had to be a really specific sort of situation to have him empathise with others. The worst part was the fact that this boy, whoever he was, didn’t even ask for permission. Now Enrico never did either, he liked to invite himself to whatever situation he could himself in. But that was perfectly fine as long as it pleased the brown-haired lad.

“You do know that that’s my candy, right? Mine!” He took a deep breath and let out an aggressive sniff, “I guess there’s more than enough for the both of us though,” he tilted his head to the side trying to calculate whether or not his stomach could actually be filled with the lot of remaining sweets, picked up a gold-folded caramel fudge and handed it to his new, suspicious acquaintance.
“Just passing time,” Enrico then cautiously replied, trying not be so super suspicious of his actions, that were quite obvious as he was still eating.
“You?”
