Bumping into someone new
Mia walked into the Courtyard, it was her first time out since she had arrived at Hogwarts. She took a long, deep breath. The air smelled fresh, and it had a floral scent to it. She wore her black robes, with her scarlet and gold scarf. The wind was a bit bitey that morning, but she felt a change in the weather when the sun hit her pale face. The clouds had parted and made way for the warmth of the sun. She appreciated it, it had been a while since she had seen the sun, it had been rainy after all.
She quickly made her way to the fountain, the pitter-patter of the water spraying into its' different layers calmed her. She sat down on the rim of the lower tier, placed her book bag next to her right leg, and quickly took out her sketchbook. She took out a piece of drawing charcoal. There were a few students hanging around the Courtyard, each group or pair was having their own conversations. Some seemed bubbly and excited and others seemed to be discussing their homework. She bit her lip as she thought of her first classes and what that would be like, she was still waiting for her timetable to be completed. She was excited to start learning. She found solace in books, whether it was reading or drawing, both made her feel comfortable. She decided to draw a lone student. One who had no one around to talk to. or who was waiting for their friend? She smiled as she started to draw the outlines of this student. She focused on the face and the expression to capture the moment of emotional change. Her fingers worked swiftly over the charcoal to blend the areas that she wished to make darker. Not long after she started the image started to take form.
