Gryffindor vs. Slytherin: Match 4
Katrina was finally back in the game with her wand in hand. She knew time was running out, they didn’t have long before the duel would be over. There wasn’t enough time to secure a win with both opponents unconscious. Katrina fire continued to burn bright, well the fire inside her, there was also external fire that was currently burning away at Adeline.
“Only a little longer,” Katrina offered words of encouragement hoping it would be enough to keep them through.

The end of the match was looming, and the tension was rising as everyone was fighting their hardest to come out on top. At this point, the burning that came with being on the receiving end of a fire-making spell felt like more of a nuisance than a real problem. Addie grit her teeth, focusing on finishing the match instead of allowing the pain to draw her attention.

Gryffindor vs. Slytherin: Match 4
There was nothing more frustrating then coming so close to a perfect shot, and just barely missing by a hair. There was no more time now for misfires, no more time for less then perfect shots. The game was narrowing and there were so close to victory Illowy could almost taste it. The older girl passed a quick look to her partner, proud that at least one of them had managed to land their shot.
Full focus now. Time for everyone on the piste to show what they were made of, and how much they wanted to win.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

The Gryffindors played defensively. Katrina cast a healing spell at her partner, successfully making Adeline feel quite a bit better despite the flames still burning at her side. On the topic, Starlee made sure the other lion would too be cooking in the few remaining moments of the duel, successfully hitting Katrina with an Incendio Duo. Adeline's Flipendo went off without a hitch, Starlee quite possibly seeing stars though she remained conscious. Illowy's attempt at the spell missed its mark.
It was down to the wire.

Starlee raised her wand to cast yet another incendio duo, this one yet again hitting its target. Now both the Gryffindors were aflame, with Hughes electing not to put herself out as Starlee had thought she might. Instead, a spell from the fellow second year targeted Starlee head on, and she stumbled backward from the hit.
Her vision was beginning to fade again, but she knew she had to do her best to stay in this. There wasn't much time left now, they had to give it all they had.

Illowy squared her jaw. This was not the direction she was hoping to end this duel on as her own spell missed and her partner was hit.
"Stay on your feet, Kennedy!" she commanded, determined this time around at the very least they were going to walk off the platform together. It was possible her words came out slightly harsher then she intended, but she had nothing less then the belief that the younger snake was more the capable. She was at least hitting better then Illowy, herself, was the last couple rounds. This one needed to count though.
They still had a shot. There was always a shot.

The healing she got from Katrina helped to balance out the residual burning from the last fire-making spell she had been hit with. And it certainly raised her spirits to watch the Flipendo she had cast make contact with its target. A strange mix of fear and confidence flooded her mind, switching wildly back and forth between the two as she stressed over the last details of the match. She tried to push the fear back and let the confidence take over, repeating over and over in her mind, you can do this, you can do this, you can do this.

There was so little time left and Katrina wasn’t about to give up now. She threw in the towel for her last duel and wasn’t about to let that happen a second time. So close. So almost nearly there.
Adeline wasn’t looking so hot, well she was looking rather toasty as she was actively on fire. Katrina sent a healing spell her way, hoping that would do more good than the fire did bad. Only a little while longer…

In the end, it would be the Gryffindors who took the day. Spending their last round playing defense would serve them well, as the Slytherins did not seem keen on going down without a fight. Both Starlee and Illowy targetted Katrina with a Flipendo, the latter striking the lion. Somehow, despite Starlee aiming flawlessly, it seemed that Katrina was quick enough on her feet to avoid the casting of the second year. Katrina continued to help her partner, and Adeline herself took the opportunity to put out some flames.
With the time elapsed, Thomas raised his hand in an attempt to signal to the duelists that they ought to cease. "Alright! Alright. With the time limit reached... Looks like the Gryffindors are in better shape. Good job, you guys!" He flashed his former opponents a smile, a genuine one, he was happy that they seemed to have better luck this time around.
