A letter to home Closed

Mia walked up the steps to the owlery. She had been thinking about sending a letter home for a long time, but she didn't know what she wanted to write. She wanted to write to her parents to tell them about her being sorted into Gryffindor, but she wasn't even sure how she felt about it. She wondered whether she wasn't best suited for Raven claw or Slytherin. She found it mildly amusing that she wasn't in one of those for her own personality. A smile curved onto her lips as she walked over to the platform on which the owls would receive her letters to be sent.

She removed a piece of parchment from her pocket that had been rolled up and had a red bow attached to it.

Dylan

I hope this letter finds you well. I hope that everything at home is still fine and that things have not been burned down. As I know that you always have some concoction brewing.

I wanted to write home to Mom and Dad, but I find it difficult to speak to them at this point. Mom and I had a fight before I left, and I don't know where I stand with her.

I had been sorted into Gryffindor, not Slytherin like you, which seems a bit odd, but I know our family had been a mix since the beginning of the Heartlilly's. I have spoken to a few students here, but am far from making friends.

There was a girl whom I met after the sorting ceremony. She was kind, and she seemed as nervous as I. And I met two boys. One from the library who seemed to be interested in dragons, and another who I enjoyed talking to about art.

Send my love to Mom and Dad...Scratch that, don't let them know, I will write to them soon.

Love you brother.

She called one of the owls closer and handed it the letter.

'Please make sure that this is given to my brother and not to my parents.'

She decided to spend a few moments in the owlery
