The Whomping Willow
Verla strolled up to the whomping willow in a gentle matter, hoping it wouldn't crush her. It seemed to like her, so she laid under the tree and looked up at the sky, the beautiful blue and cloudy sky. Then she heard a twig snap by the tree, she rushingly got up and looked around. There was nothing there. "Hello? Who's there?" Verla asked.
She remembered the whomping willow from harry potter in their third year. Maybe something like that with harry's mom Lily would happen to her. Meeting someone sweet and kind. Of course she'd choose the one who was picked on, and loved her for who she was, unlike her stupid sister Petunia.
Verla remembered her little sister named Lily, she loved the name Lily. It was such a pretty name, and it made her feel warm inside for some reason. The name Lily she decided would be the name of her daughter one day. That made her excited for when she grew up. She was also excited to grow up and meet the man of her dreams, perhapes one day, she'd meet him right under the tree.
When she was sure no one was there, she laid back down. Until she heard it again.

The Whomping Willow
Wes had his stringy arms piled up and full with books he had rented from the library really just a few minutes ago. He really was trying his best to be as silent as he could so to not disturb or provoke the infamous Whomping Willow. But that plan desperately failed when Wes - mind accidentally - stomped on a twig, cracking it in half, and crushed a couple of dry leaves; despite the May weather hovering in the air, Autumn and Winter had grimly left behind a few things (dry, weak leaves and damp, disgusting twigs for an example). A pretty, clearly-belonging-to-a-girl voice called out to him worriedly; Hello? Who is there?.
Wes did not want to reply and scare the girl more; his parents - and a lot of other people - had told him that he didn’t hit puberty, puberty hit him (in a polite, joking manner obviously), and he was very tall, at a wopping 5’ 5” for an eleven year old boy! He continued walking, glaring at any weak leaf or small, astray branch that lay on the floor, as if it would scare them away and they would not dare to be stood on.
Actually, that almost worked. Almost. Wes trod once again on a red, turning orange, weak leaf. And it crunched horribly

The Whomping Willow
Verla saw a boy trying to hide, clearly not very well. She had seen this boy before around school, but hadn't actually seen him since the ball room. "Hey! I see you, and I've seen you before, your the one from the ball room right? You can come out, it's alright." Verla said gently. She hoped that he wasn't scared of her. She couldn't remember his name for the life of her, though she was sure she'd heard it before.
Verla was nervous about seeing the boy still trying to hide. She sat up and turned toward the pond by the tree, hoping he would come and sit next to her. Maybe she could make a friendly conversation with him, only if he wanted to. Verla didn't know what else to do. She didn't know if he thought he would be alone by the tree, or if he was following her. She wouldn't have cared either way. This boy was nice and just shy, she didn't really mind him being there with her.
Verla looked past her shoulder, his full body was out now, and she sighed and laid down and looked at the sky again, it was a beautiful day.

Wesley sighed, tugging strongly at the red and gold coloured tassels at the ends of his once again red and gold Gryffindor House Pride scarf. He really hoped there would be no person around, so he could read his Murder Mystery novels without someone spoiling the ending, or talking to him when he was trying to concentrate. He walked over to the girl who had told him to come out from behind his awful hiding place. The grass was plump and lush, so beautifully green, shiny and wonderful. He put on a small, soft smile and sat down next to the girl, using the tail of his robe to save his rear from being hugged by a ton of grass and hay. May was wonderful, but too hot. Wes turned his head and looked at the girl. Verla. He recognised her. She was in Hufflepuff, he remembered from the Sorting at the beginning of the year. He also recognised her fair face from the time in the Ballroom when he met Vecrow and her bird. They had met eyes from other sides of the room, and it seemed they ere destined to be friends. You know the feeling when your wand chooses you? It felt like that. A golden light, and a sparkly breeze filled the air. And everything felt nice, friendly

She shockingly looked next to her, surprised. It was Wes. She smiled at him, she had a good vibe around him, he was kind. She smiled at him. She felt like hugging him. Some how, the way the grass was green, it made him stick out more, making look more cuter than ever. When Verla thought of this, she blushed immensely. She hoped he wouldn't notice. Maybe he wouldn't. "So how are you Wes? I can't remember the last time I saw you, but I know it was a bit recent." Verla asked him. What if he was in a bad mood? She hoped he wasn't, he didn't seem like that kind of person.
She was shy, so how was she the first one to say something? And not stutter? Who knows, maybe it was the good vibe she got, which she rarely got from people. He seemed....lonely. Distant. Silent.
He was the type of person Verla wanted to make sure that he stayed alive and well, though he looked like he was, there are people who have died inside. She felt calm suddenly as she looked at him, he seemed like he was worth her time, although, anyone who spoke to her was.

Wes nodded, just a reply in... nodding form. “The Ballroom. I believe I did say I had a date to the ball when I was there, if I recall correctly,” he began, unbuckling his bag and pulling out two piles of books; a red hued pile, and a blue hued pile, “but... that was completely a tale.” He pulled out more things; his dusty grey quill, along with his quill holder and three bottles of ink, each containing different colours. The tallest bottle was glass, see-through, it had a paper tag that had been magically sealed on - it was a beige or brown, with small calligraphic black lettering on it: BLACK INK by Wizord. The second was smaller and more stubby, like a tree stump (though it was a little bit taller, and a lot smaller), the glass was coloured a glittery navy, though the ink inside was purple; the same beige or brown paper tag that was on the pot of black ink was on this shiny pot, except saying PURPLE INK by Wizord, and it had clearly been unused from the appearance of it (much unlike the pot of black ink, which had smudges of the ink all of the lid, on the inside, and on the outside!). The final bottle was average, looking like your everyday, casual ink pot: see-through, ink inside, paper tag around neck, attached with some twine... except this wasn’t your everyday, casual ink pot; this was filled with lemon juice, so Wes could use something to write secret messages.
“I have someone in mind, though, who to ask to the dance; it is tomorrow night, anyway,” Wes continued, opening up the fattest of the red books. This one was a maroon colour and it was outlined with gold. Real gold. He proceeded to open up, ironically, the thinnest green book. It was a Forest Green, and was titled: Astronomy. Wes had come here to write letters to friends and family, do his homework, and, most importantly, find out the culprit in his Murder Mystery novel!

"Who were you planning to ask? I won't tell, not like I can talk to people anyway." Verla giggled a bit. She really was curious as to who it was. Though she couldn't wait to find out. She was excited for the ball to be honest, though she didn't think she was going to go since no one asked her yet. "Is it Ve?" She asked. "You don't have to tell if you don't want to, I understand." What a great way to continue friendship Verla.
She smiled gently and kindly to him, hoping he would give juicy details of who he was going to ask. Then she put her hand on her chin. "If it isn't Ve, what's she like? Is she in Gryffindor?" She continued to ask. God! She was blabbering again, but this time with questions! She vowed to shut up until he answered since she just kept throwing questions towards him.
She was kind of nervous who it was. She was a bit disappointed no one had asked her yet, but she wasn't planning on going anyway, unless someone did ask her. But she figured it wouldn't happen, oh well. Not much else she can do about it.
