To New Friendship! Only If Invited Closed

Ami crinkled her nose in a what-the-heck face as Gabriel asked them to go around and share two things they'd like to accomplish. What is this, kindergarten? she thought with a frown, tugging on her hair. Sharing things about herself wasn't exactly Ami's strong suit, but as two other girls (Eri and Asteria) eagerly, willingly opened up about themselves, she resigned herself to her fate with a sigh. "The name's Ami," she said quietly, examining her fingernails and feigning disinterest. "I dunno what I want to do, really- I guess the Animagus thing sounds pretty cool, turning into animals and stuff? Yeah, sure, that and..." Here, she trailed off, and glanced around the vast library, searching for inspiration. A Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook catching her eye, she finished with, "And I'd like to be able to cast a Patronus."

Satisfied, she leaned back in her chair, and studied the other members of her little group. Gabriel, Eri, Asteria, Charles (yes, she knew him from her house), Frost (ditto), and a nameless Ravenclaw... really, quite the interesting group. If one didn't know any better, they'd mistake their little gathering for one of a cult's. Ami snorted in laughter at that, but shut up so the next person could speak.

Everything was so thick in dust that Charles almost missed a tiny spider crawling across the edge of the table that sat around. Charles knew the spider immediately and was brought back to a memory with his mum. "Charlie look!" his mother pointed down at his hand and on it was a tiny little spider crawling up near his sleeve. "It's a money spider Charlie, it brings good fortune." His mother smiled softly and Charles twisted his hand so the spider would crawl into his palm. Instead of jumping or brushing the spider off Charles looked at it like he would any animal or plant he came across that he didn't know. He looked back up at his mother and beamed, "What kind of fortune do you think it will bring?" "I'm not sure Charles only time will tell." Both of them were unaware that nine months later, Charles would have a baby sister.

Charles watched the tiny creature scamper onto his forefinger and make its way to the back of his hand. Charles was listening while he thought on that moment he shared with his mother, of course, the boy had no idea what an Animagus or a Patronus was but he smiled and stood up after his housemate Ami was done speaking.

The boy stood as the spider found its way to his palm with a little guidance from Charles. The young wizard thought for a moment, everything in the castle, the people, the culture, the classes, the way of life here was completely new to the boy. Spiders he knew about, he had gone into a bit of an insect arachnid phase after he was bitten by a spider in the tiny apartment back in Greenwich that he called home. The boy looked around the room at everyone, taking a mental note of who they were and what houses they were in and what their names were.

"I'm not sure what an Animagus is, but it sounds brilliant. I'd like to know more about the magical creatures and plants that populate the magical world, I'd also like to learn more about what an Animagus and a Patronus are and I hope that you guys will be there to help me." The boy placed his hand in the middle of the table to show everyone what was there. He motioned everyone to get closer and said, "This is a money spider, legend has it that if you find one crawling on you it'll bring you good fortune," He flashed a cheeky grin, "Looks like this friendship is gonna have a lot of luck come with it."

She is always the last talker because of the fact that she wants to observe everybody so she would not say anything wrong about it. Gabriel, Eri, Asteria, Ami, Charles and her. How can us be different from all second years for Gabriel. ''What makes us a group?'' she thought. When everybody talked, they started to stare at her but Linyum was not aware of it. Linyum felt that so deeply and looked at them.

''I do not know what I am going to do or be in the future... I am here to learn.'' she said.

But it seems ''doesn't enough''. '' By the way, My father is an animagus, too. Sometimes it gets creepy but it is still cool! '' she said with proud. ''Right?''

What she wants the only and one thing from life, Hogwarts or her friends is being loved because of being herself. But she could not say it to them.

Frost decided to speak up after everyone had their turn. She cleared her throat and fiddled with her robes. 

"Um yes." She nodded.

"You guys have a better view of the future I guess." She sighed and pulled her knees up to her chest.

"I know some of you, but anyways, my name is Frost Cira. My goals are to learn how to fly and learn about magical creatures." She stated her words proudly. Even though she hasn't really decided what she wants to do with her life. 

The girl stared at the group. An odd bunch of people, really. We all have our similarities and differences.  Strengths and weaknesses and what not.

Resting her head on her knees, Frost remembered some faces. Charles and Ami. 

She could tell that she wasn't the smartest here. But she wasn't really smart in the first place. Maybe clever, but not smart. 

Gabriel said we had something that stands out. Maybe he was right. Maybe Frost was good for something. 

She usually had no problem talking to others and to analyze people, a skill she picked up from her father, but today she felt a little weird. Around these certain people, something makes her stomach tie in a knot.

Good answers, each and everyone of them. “Now that that’s over with, I can easily say that I’m happy of the group that I’ve gathered. We are all magically spell or creature oriented. Now I would like to show you what you all truly came for...

If you would look at the back of your seat, you will see that your name has been inscribed into it and that your name has a silvery hint to it. This is because this table and it’s chairs was brought into this castle during its creation and then left undisturbed. It was originally part of a secret order, a society of sorts, that moved into the building and took this place as its main meeting place and headquarters. And if you don’t believe me, look at the book and at the back of your chairs like I asked instead of just looking at me all confused.”

After having them get out of their chairs and locate their names and to see the book that he was reading, Gabriel flipped the pages to the very beginning. On this page the words ORDER OF HELIOS was written in great golden lettering that was even visible under the layering of dust on it. Gabriel dusted the book off, and said: “Now I shall give you all a chance to back out of this, as after joining only then shall the danger begin. If you decide to opt out, all that will be required of you will be to undertake the unbreakable vow about never saying anything about or showing anyone this place... thank you.”

Eri looked at the chair and the book. Sure enough he wasn't lying. But this was very interesting to her. Like how did the chair just suddenly. She had no idea how that happened, but she was in a school of magic so anything could happen. Why was she so surprised by this? She shrugged. It wasn't like she was going to leave. This group intrigued her, but why  did he give them the option to leave? Surely it isn't going to be that dangerous. Its just a secret group of kids having secret meetings.

Eri looked at Gabriel. "I'm not leaving. This is to interesting for me to leave." She said waiting for everyone else to speak. She wondered if anyone would leave. He did make it sound a little dangerous. So would anyone opt out because they were scared of the dangers that Gabriel said may come. Though she wasn't scared of the dangerous so she wasn't going anywhere. Cause this society was so interesting and she really wanted to learn more about what they do and what they are going to talk about. Cause she didn't know what secret societies did so this would be new for her.

 Asteria listened as the last four people took their turn, Ami, Charles, Linyum, and Frost. It was interesting, everyone here had both similar and also different goals, for different reasons. Yet they all seemed to be drawn here, to this place together. It wasn't everyday she was invited to something, Asteria usually kept to herself most of the time. She wondered how all this would turn out, Asteria didn't know a thing about any of these people, and they her. All Asteria could hope for was the best, that they all get along and end up friends even.

She traced, the silver letters with her fingers, "Whoa." She said quietly in wonder. Looking away from the chair, Asteria could make out words on one of the pages of Gabriel's book. 'ORDER OF HELIOS', was written clear as day at the beginning, the book was slightly dusty, but the  golden letters stood out regardless.

 "This is because this table and it’s chairs was brought into this castle during its creation and then left undisturbed." Gabriel went on. She knew ever since she could remember, that Hogwarts had a rich history filled with adventure, but still it was amazing none-the-less to hear about it.“Now I shall give you all a chance to back out of this, as after joining only then shall the danger begin."   Asteria took a moment to ponder what Gabriel said, What danger could he possibly be talking about? The again, this was Hogwarts, there is always some form of danger at Hogwarts, this was a well known fact. Still, Asteria wasn't one to back down from adventure, don't let what you see on the outside fool you. "I'm not leaving." Asteria heard, Eri say, "This is to interesting for me to leave." Asteria nodded in agreement. "I'm in too, this promises to be quite the adventure." She said looking back at Gabriel.

Ami listened to Gabriel's words with mild interest, finding her name and examining book as he asked.  He then asked if anyone wanted to back out, as there was imminent danger in the foreseeable future. Eri immediately voiced her intent to stay, as did Asteria. They both seemed to seek the thrill Gabriel had promised, as did Ami herself.

"Danger..." she mused with a wry smile, her eyebrows raised. "Sounds right up my alley- I'm totally in. When do we start?" Leaning back in her chair, the Hufflepuff thought over their meeting so far. Certainly, an interesting group, to say the least, everyone with their own ambitions and potential. Well, this seemed like the thing she'd love to do, with danger and adventure, camaraderie and fantasy. 

However, as with all things, she had her own reservations with this whole... Order of Helios business. After all, she had her own friendships and alliances, none of which were present in the motley group in front of her. If joining this group meant breaking off her ties with other students within the castle, Ami would immediately back out. Additionally, she was slow at doing her homework. If this cut into too much of her time... well, weren't core class more important than extracurriculars? 

Frost observed as everyone in the group looked behind them and saw their names engraved into the chair. The Hufflepuff girl did the same as the rest. 

In all honesty, she was shocked. She knew that Hogwarts was a magical place, but she couldn't help gasping a little when she saw the silvery engraving. 

The girl brushed her tangle of ginger hair to the side and used the tip of her finger to trace the lines of her name. 

So it was real.

The book Gabriel had, the golden letters of its title stuck out like a sore thumb. The Order Of Helios. What did it mean? 

I mean, just the other day, Frost had been a regular old Hufflepuff. A regular student at Hogwarts.  And now she was part of this... this Order she had no idea existed.

She was given the choice to leave. A choice to avoid danger. As long as you swore to keep it a secret.

But what fun is there in not taking risks? Why would she leave when she was already enjoying this already, and the fun hadn't even begun. 

All of their adventures that hadn't happened yet. All of the friendships to be made. 

Of course, she was in! She would go all in if she had to. Even though she had no clue about what kind of people she was thrown into a group with, she guessed that she would know not to long in the future.

Narrowing her eyes, the Ginger stares at the Ravenclaw boy that gathered the group in the first place.

Gabriel. 

He seemed to have a lot more knowledge than most of the group, especially Frost. Like he had extra room in his brain for knowledge she didn't even know how to comprehend. He seemed like a good leader. 

This ragtag group of kids must have to be here for something actually worth everyone's time. It doesn't seem like a hoax. 

"Alright, Mattix." Frost was intrigued.

"I'm in."
