Have you not heard of Goosebumps?
Each tale of terror features a different child or children in a scary situation, often with supernatural characters or monsters to contend with. The books are scary but not violent, with plenty of twists and lots of humour too, and so can be enjoyed by thrill-seeking readers aged 8+.
