Literacy Slump
@Damion WhiteThe library was always a greta place to escape too from the hustle and bustle of the Hogwart's hallways during, frankly, any period of time throughout the day. With the Blossom Ball coming up everyone seemed to be a rush. Whether it was getting their formal attire together or making from grand spectacle out of asking their significant others or those who held their admiration.
Adlai hadn't been in the library as of late. Sadly her interest in reading had completely tanked over recent months. She assumed it was because of the homework she was throwing herself into in order and in hopes to bring her grades up. Adlai wasn't the most studious person, she was more of an individual who liked to have fun and saw anything grade related outside of class as a drag.
Nonetheless, here she was wandering the shelves of the library in hopes of something catching her eye. Not all the books in the Hogwarts Library were class related to her knowledge which gave her hope in finding something for light reading here and there so that she might come out of her reading slump. If not then, oh well. It wasn't anything in particular that was eating at her, besides she had other hobbies she'd been meaning to catch up with as well.

264 [/font]──────────────────────────────────────────── Damion had decided that he would get some studying done in the time that he had to spare. He was going to go to the library so that he could find books on the stuff that he needed to improve himself on. He was hoping that next year he’d become better than he was this year. He didn’t want to be this bad on things that he was learning. From being an O Student he had dropped down to an A student. He had to bring his grades up.
He knew he couldn’t let this be his final grade. He wanted to be better than that. He was a good student and didn’t want how his studies were going to let it affect him. He thought it would be a good idea to go to the Library and read up on his weak subjects. He didn’t want to be a stay an average Student. He wanted to be a good student in matter of studying. He looked around as he walked to the Library.
Damion was taking out a book when it fell down on the floor. In order to get the book up he felt that he bumped into someone who was near the shelf. “Oh I am so sorry.” He said as he picked up the book. He looked at the girl he had bumped into. He was really sorry for bumping into her. “I am Damion White.” He said. He looked at her as he stretched out his hand for her to shake. He was hoping that she was not hurt.
It passed you up and slipped you by. But we're all bound to end up back to where we started

@Damion WhiteAs Adlai wandered the shelves, other people were there as well of course. She couldn't remember a time where the library was ever empty or would ever be empty. It frankly was the place to be alone or meet up with companions of all years and houses.
Stopping to look at a particular book that caught her eye Adlai soon felt a small nudge into herself. Looking to the direction it came from she found a young boy next to her. He didn't look too young though, not like the baby faced first years and certainly not like the rowdy and built seventh year boys. No, he looked very much so around her age.
He apologized and introduced himself as, Damion White. Typically people would just apologize, but those who know Adlai were extremely aware that she was always one to encourage a conversation. Especially with new people.
"Oh, you're alright I barely felt a thing." She started, "I'm Adlai, Adlai Rod." She took his hand and shook it firmly. Her mother had taught her it was bad manners to shake another hand limply and that your only excuse in doing so would be if you were ill, or simply incapacitated.

219[/font]──────────────────────────────────────────── Damii was going to be busy reading somethings once he found the book that he wanted to read. He looked around trying to find the book he wanted. He looked at the books. He wanted to have some book to read. He was eager to see what he could read.
Damii had found a book and had sat down on the seat near him. He looked around not paying attention to his surroundings. He didn’t think someone else would come here. He looked at the book reading it slowly. He was engrossed in it. He was weak in the subject and was getting as much time with them as he could get right now.
Damii apologized to the girl who he had bumped accidentally. He should have been more careful. He looked at her and smiled. He was really sorry for hurting her. He wished that he had not hurt her too badly. Damii was a friendly boy. He didn’t want to have any enemies.
“Oh good.” He said sighing in relief. He smiled as she introduced herself. “Nice to meet to Adlai.” He said stretching his hand to shake hers. “I am in Ravenclaw. What house are you in?” He asked. He looked at her as he waited for a reply. He smiled at her as he waited.

@Damion WhiteRavenclaw?- Adlai thought to herself as she looked at the boy before her. She hadn't interacted with many people in the Ravenclaw house, in honesty most of her interactions were condemned to those who were apart of the house of Slytherin since there seemed to be quite the abundant amount of them.
"I'm a Hufflepuff!" She exclaimed. Adlai particularly didn't understand the process of being sorted into ones house, nor did she understand how so many people could be so passionate about their hogwarts houses. However, one day she hoped to build up even hufflepuff pride, she didn't have anything against her house after all.
"Looking for something to read? I'm sure I might have some recommendations if you have a specific genre you're looking for." She asked, in hopes to create a bit of small talk. Nothing extreme but something helpful, maybe even something that could lead into an even deeper conversation about a possible, mutual topic of interest between the two.
Adlai had always thought of books as magical portals to different realms within the human mind, hubs of knowledge and fantasy. Coming from her muggle upbringing, everything around her felt as though it had come out of a young adult fiction novel at times.

280──────────────────────────────────────────── Damion looked at the book that he had gotten down. He put the book on the table and looked at the girl. He was happy that he had decided to get some studies done. He was wanting to improve his grades. He didn’t know what else he could do about it. He wanted to get some studies done. He put the book on the side as someone approached. He didn’t want to seem impolite and wanted to know the people he was around.
"Ooh that’s the badger house right?" He said looking at her. He was not sure that he was right about it. He looked at her and smiled. He wanted to get to know more about the house that Adlai was in. He was happy to know more about the house. "That’s the yellow house right?" He added with a smile. He looked at her and nodded his head.
"I wanted something to read on Herbology and Defense Against Dark Arts." He said. He was wanting to read up something on these two subjects. He looked at her. "Any idea where I can find these books, Adlai." He asked as he smiled. He was trying to be friendly. He wanted to read up on these subjects and do better. "I am not into much Genres right now but I do like reading Romantic Books and Sci-fi books. What about you?" He asked.
Damii looked at her and smiled. He was trying to get some books on the subjects that he was weak in. He wanted to improve those subjects. He was not looking for some genre or anything else right now but he was looking for studying material.
