Searching for Distractions
“Alright, library it is. Great,” Elrich responded sarcastically. Usually he would have no issue with going to the library to do schoolwork. In fact, it was how he spent a lot of his free time while at the school, but now he had no idea what he was even supposed to be accomplishing. He could not recall for the life of him what they had covered in class, even when he tried concentrating hard. He let out a defeated sounding sigh, deciding that he would just think as they went to the library.
History of Magic was held on the first floor, so they would have to find some stairs to go up and reach the main library. As he began walking in that direction, he tried to devise solutions to their situation. Find somebody who was doing the assignment and also willing to help? Concentrate and hope one of them miraculously remembered the assignment? His memory was good, but not that good. Those were the only solutions he could think of at the moment and his mind was beginning to be clouded by anxiety. He wasn’t seeing any clear solutions to their predicament.
“So, any ideas? I’m at a total loss,” he asked in a calm tone, not wanting to show his distress. To some this would be no big deal; it was just one assignment. He figured that some students only did every other assignment given to them, so why was he so freaked out by not doing this one?
