The Ravenclaw Table 2021-2022

Harmonia didn't notice a boy come and sit next to her, she jumped slightly when she heard a voice next to her. "al'right, how's it going? Er happy to be here.. sorted into a house and all!". Her head snapping to the new boy. She fidget with the sleeve of her robes, her face reddening. "H-hello... I figured the hat would place me either here or in slytherin, my mother and fathers' house respectively. My name is Harmonia Melodius, its a pleasure to meet you."
She looked into his eyes, he may try to convey some enthusiasm, but his green eyes tell the truth. He was expecting a different house. " You... you dont seem... I mean, it sounds like you didn't expect to be sorted here." She continued, unsure if it's alright to say that.
"I find that the hat song and the teachers... summary of the houses are great at giving a good idea, but each house has multiple traits." she says gesturing to the rest of the table. "Ravenclaw maybe known as the wise house, but Rowana Ravenclaw also valued intelligence, wit, creativity, originality, individuality, acceptance, and sharpness. Im sure you have at least one of those traits."

Dafydd is quite taken a back by how quickly Harmonia's head snapped towards him as he spoke, which almost seemed to make him jump in his seat before letting out a gentle chuckle as he listened to her speak and fiddle with her robe sleeve. An apologetic smile formed across his lips as he looked the girl beside him over as she spoke. "Sorry if I startled you! And the pleasure is all mine, I'm Dafydd Powell."
"So both you're Mam and Dad came to Hogwarts? You must've been told all about this place then, huh? Only my Mam came to the school and she was a Hufflepuff.. reckoned I'd be sorted into the same house being so similar and all." He explained after Harmonia had finished speaking, doing his best to keep eye contact with the girl though he quickly became embarressed and turned towards the table before him, grabbing a plate and beginning to pile it with the various kinds of meats and vegetables that were within his reach! A gentle rumble erupting from his stomach as he saw all the food, far far more than he had ever seen before in one place.
Upon filling his plate with a moderate amount of food he turned back to Harmonia and offered a few brief nods of his head before speaking once more "I dunno how many of them traits I do have but I reckon it's just something to be seen in time huh? My Dad use to say something similiar while out hunting boggarts.. something about never knowing what they'll turn into with new people you just gotta wait." As he spoke and grabbed himself a plate of food it seemed he began to settle in a little and get more comfortable, the initial wave of panick and worry over which house he was sorted into having past thanks to Harmonia!

"Boggarts." She said frowning. "Not sure what it would turn into for me, I... I've lived a sheltered life." She continued, implying her families social and financial standing. She turned back to the table to grabbing several rolls. She continued to sit and eat with manner 'befitting someone of her social position', something her mother drilled into her mind.
" I think we learn about boggarts in our third year of Defence Against the Dark Art, so we don't have to worry about it for a while." She added, looking back to the taller boy. " Speaking of classes... which classes are you excited for, mine are charms and potions." She said excitedly. "I've already read the textbooks cover to cover for those subjects at least."
She suddenly stopped and shrunk into herself. " I apologizes for talking so much... I'm not use to interecting with..." she trailed off, trying to figure out the best way of saying 'non-rich folk', without sounding rude or arrogant. However, interacting with most people of her social position usually involves being seen and not heard. She's constantly being compared to a porcelain doll, and after all dolls are made to be pretty. Dolls don't talk.
