Delilah continued to lean against the tree and watch Reid, she realised it was a little creepy but she was tired, nothing feels as creepy as it actually is when you are tired. She looked at him pull out the watch, it was broken. "Nice watch, besides the broken-ness of it." She completely forgot that broken-ness technically wasn't a word but oh well. Then she watched him put away the watch and drop his victims onto the living versions of them. Although that sounded really bad if you thought about it in a human sense, dropping a handful of corpses into a crowd. She sat up a little straighter as he spoke and she answered almost immediately, "Ravenclaw, you don't have to come with me if you don't want to, but to be fair I am pretty tired." As if on cue she yawned right after that sentence.
Once she had opened her eyes after that very satisfying yawn she noticed he had his hand out for her and she smiled, "Thank you." She said as she grabbed his hand with her own, pulling herself up quite easily with the help that Reid had offered her. His hand was really warm and a bit bigger than her own, actually it was strange how warm it as compared to the air around them and to how cold her own hand was. "Have you got a fever or something?" She asked. After she said that she let go of his hand and immediately felt the cold hit her palm, she stretched a bit, yawning again. She felt a little dizzy from the quick change from sitting to standing but it went away quite quickly.
"To be completely honest, I wish I didn't have to go back to my dorm room, even if I am really tired. But I don't want you to get told off for me being a rebel against the curfew and dragging you along with me." Delilah laughed. curfew was at ten and by the looks of things on the glance she had gotten on Reid's watch, they hadn't been talking for too long, it felt like much longer than what it actually was. She blinked a few times but she didn't take the first step, she just kind of stood there awkwardly. She was dreading this walk back up these stairs, but at least she had some company, that was if Reid wanted to walk with her, the Hufflepuff dorm was completely the other way and not up an abundance of stairs. She sorted out the bottoms of her jeans that had ridden up a little when she bent her knees by placing the end of her converse on one leg of her jeans and pushed it down then did then same with the other.

Her hands were a little colder than he anticipated, it made him shiver slightly. Maybe it was from being out here for so long, the late noons tended to get a little frigid. He laughed at her comment, was his hand that warm in comparison to hers? Maybe. "I was so right. Something told me you were a Ravenclaw, must be that nine-hundred word essay." Just as he thought, a Ravenclaw! If he had a sickled for every student who he guessed a house for, he'd be able to probably afford himself a brand new Cleansweep broom. He tucked his hands in his pocket and turned himself on his heel towards the castle.
The air felt crisp, he wouldn't blame her for wanting to stay out here. The grounds were dangerous, the night was dark and full of terrors after all. "You? A rebel? No way." he joked, beginning to walk backwards. She could be a rebel, a lot of the Ravenclaws he knew actually broke rules. Reid paused to wait for her. "Also it's not a problem, it wouldn't be the first time I got caught talking to someone while on duty. It's always fun to meet new people anyway." Reid shrugged slightly, he didn't really mind too much. But at the same time, he probably should.
He needed to be an exemplar to the other students, but he really just wanted to enjoy his youth with some mischief. Still, the title gave him some honor and he liked the response his parents had after knowing he became Head Boy. Praise wasn't exactly something he always got from his folks and when he did get it, nothing else mattered sometimes. But he thankfully kept himself humble and he liked to stay that way.
Once she would catch up or walk, that's when he would follow. "How's you classes going though?" he asked. It was an out of the blue question, but Reid seemed to take census of the student body at random times. It was just interesting to know how the people he went to school with are faring with their academics and sometimes just with each other.

"Stereotyping much?" She asked with a smile to his comment on her being a Ravenclaw. Then he joked about her being a rebel and she couldn't help but laugh, "Yeah...Uh...." Delilah tried her hardest to think of the most rebellious thing she did and could only thing of one thing. "I returned a book to the library after it's to be back date. Although it was the day after and I apologized like 3 times." She looked down to the ground for the last part though before laughing again. When Reid stopped for a second Delilah jogged a little to catch up, "How are you not tired?" She asked, sighing.
He asked her about her academics so she looked over at him, "Flying..rubbish...Transfiguration..rubbish...charms...rubbish, everything else is pretty good though." She replied as they stepped into the school. The bright lights were a big change from the darkness outside so she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, this time without burning her retinas.
"So how are your classes going? I heard that the quidditch tryouts are on soon, are you going to go for that?" She asked, they were nearing the stairs now, it was time for hell on earth. Making it all the way up those stairs, seven floors then across to the tower. So time consuming, and her legs were exhausted already and they had barely started on them. Thankfully the stairs were quite shallow, yes that means more time to get up them, but less of a gap between steps meaning it was less likely she was going to fall over.
At that precise moment as that exact team of thought passed through Delilahs mind, her foot slipped on a step and she landed on the ground back at the bottom again, having Sid all the way back down on the small amount of progress they had made. Delilah yelled out in frustration as she stood up and stomped back up the stairs to where Reid was standing watching her, she had a big scrape up her back but she wasn't just going to say that she was hurt.
Delilah looked at the ground, her face scarlet red from embarrassment and frustration. She didn't look at Reid again for a while, but she just said "D..Don't laugh at me." Even though she hadn't heard him laugh at her at all. But it was her turn to stutter this time, her face so red you could probably see it from the moon.

Reid laughed as he heard her question, he couldn't help but ask that himself sometimes too. "That's the thing, I'm tired all the time." he joked, beamingly rather crookedly. It was a partial truth, it wasn't easy walking the halls of the school everyday. Sometimes he wanted to just sleep in after such a long day, but it built him some form of patience. "Occupational hazard ..." He followed after her, his brow raising at heard that some of her classes weren't going that well. Was it that bad? He agreed with her in some ways, a good handful of his classes was nothing but stress.
He didn't do very well in some of them, but he tried at the very least. He strode towards the stairs with the Ravenclaw girl with all the intention of following after her, but he paused with his hands in his pockets to look over his shoulder. There seemed to be a few students heading back towards the school to. "Wha-" He nearly jumped as he heard the girl fall, causing him to whip around. Oh man. The head boy carefully made his way down the stairs, almost did. "It's still slippery you kn-" In that moment, Reid also ended up slipping at the very end of the finish line.
It caused him to yelp and sharply suck air through his gritted teeth. Oh that hurt. His behind suffered the most, well at least she wasn't alone now in the pain and embarrassment of it. "No laughing here. You look like you got the worst of it." he sighed, wincing slightly. Reid quickly scrambled to get up and brush some dirt off his hands. "H-here." he huffed, holding his hand out to help her off the floor. His back was sore among other things, but it looked like she got the worst end of the stick. "Are you okay?"

Delilah wiped her hands on her jeans before she took his hand for the second time that evening to help her up, letting go once she was upright, once again noticing the heat of it. She stared at the ground for a while, wanting to laugh at her own uselessness. "Thanks." She said, looking up at him briefly with a smile, her face scarlet from embarrassment and frustration, "Yeah I'm fine, are you okay?" She lied, she scraped the side of her back quite badly when she fell and it stung like a son of a --, but she couldn't help but feel bad for him, he didn't have to come with her. She didn't know why she was acting so strangely around him, she had only just met him. If she fell down the stairs with like anybody else she would just burst out laughing at her own stupidity.
"Must have jinxed myself. I was literally just thinking about how the stairs were shallow so I wouldn't trip." She laughed a little awkwardly, she wiped her hands on her jeans again, paranoid that they were dirty after sliding down the 6 or 7 steps they had went up before that whole ordeal happened. She started walking up the steps but a little slower, watching her feet with an intense focused stare. She remembered that before she had fell they had been talking about classes and then Reid had said he was tired all the time.
"I wonder why that is. You being tired all the time I mean. I don't think that's very fair to put on you, having to walk around at this time and later." The brunette said, concerned that if he doesn't get enough sleep then his studies would slip, that wouldn't be good at all. She looked up at him and smiled again, it was strange how happy she was considering she just fell down the stairs. Along with trying to hide the fact she was in pain, she would rather not worry him more. But she was so confused by her own behaviour, she didn't know what was happening.

Reid gave a light shrug, it wasn't all so bad. "I kind of like seeing the castle after dark, it doesn't scare me as much as it used to. But there was just really great times where I found some great views. I wished I could show my parents sometimes." he beamed. There was no mention of the stairs as he didn't want to embarrass her, he would have wished someone would do the same if it were him. The steps came easier though, but his hand went on the small of his back to ease the pain.
Unlike her, he didn't hide his but did better to manage it. Surely he would be a little sore or bruised tonight but that wasn't the point. "Oh well, it's not a big deal. But we should head back before we get hurt even more." he amusingly spoke. Reid didn't like these stairs much, they were a little long and hard to make through. But looking from where he was, the sight of Hogwarts castle could rival any. In just a couple of hours, it would go silent as the halls would seem barren.
But he managed to love it nonetheless. Reid would make his way up the stairs, hoping Delilah would too. He lived making sure his peers were all safe, something terrible could have happened if she had fallen when no one was around. She could have been gravely injured down the steps, but thankfully in this case, she wasn't.

"I kinda wish I could stay out after dark more often. Yeah, I wish I could show my Granny, she would love this place." She laughed a little, looking at him as he put his hand on his back, "Are you sure you are okay?" She asked, clenching her teeth when her back stung a little as they started making their way up the stairs again. She didn't know why she was trying to hide her pain so much, probably because she didn't want him to worry about her.
She wasn't really sure what to say, it was kind of silent for a while, but it wasn't uncomfortable, just the quiet tap of their feet as they ascended the staircase, "So..umm.. what kind of music do you like?" She asked out of the blue, she wanted to get to know him better because he seemed nice...or something like that...she wasn't quite sure to be honest, it was strange, she had only just met him but she felt like she had known him forever. "Umm...I'm gonna say something strange, just a warning." She said, laughing nervously, turning to look at him for a moment, "Is it just me or does it feel like we've known eachother for a lot longer than we have? That's how I feel anyway, I know it's odd." Delilah said, stopping at one of the landings to let the stairs move to where they needed them to be.

The Hufflepuff couldn't help but look somewhere between amused and confused, have they met before? Of course he knew better than to take things literally, there was a few times where he looked like a buffoon for even doing that. "Well ..." His hand came up to brush his chin as she stopped at one of the landings, his hand in his pocket as she did so. He wasn't uncomfortable with the comment, but the boy was clearly trying to dissect it as much as he could in the time she said it.
With a light shrug of the shoulders, he finally spoke, "I kind of felt that way before with the boys and girls I met back in Derby. We sometimes got along well so quickly and it felt like I've known them for a while." Reid paused as he continued past the landing, turning his body half way to keep his attention on the Ravenclaw girl, briefly glancing towards the grounds. But she was talking about him, not anyone else. So what did that even mean? It would be weird to pause just to think about it, so Reid just let his lips fly in the moment.
"At least I know I'm not that scary or something, right? But I can kind of understand where you're coming from, I think." He continued up the steps, still stumped on what he should say to her. Reid verbally fell short much of the times, he couldn't help it but he tried his best. He didn't know her much, only her name and he wished he shared the same sentiment - but that didn't mean he couldn't start getting to know her now. What did she ask earlier? It was a start.
His brow quirked as he turned around again to face her, "Oh, about the music though - rock. I like rock, my dad always played it in the car when he'd take me to school. Mum hated it." There was a cheeky smile on his lips, fondly remembering the laughter he often had with watching his dad belt whilst his mum told him to stop. This was a good beginning, small talk, perhaps he could make a friend of her yet and not just someone he shoos off to their commons. "What about you, Delilah?"

She jogged up the stairs to catch up with him, making sure to be careful not to slip, which was pretty difficult for a clumsy person, but she managed. As he explained about his friends back in Derby she laughed a little. "Yeah, I just mean like you are like..my friend?" She said, it wasn't a question, but it sounded like one, she wasn't used to saying that kind of thing. "Sorry that sounded a little weird, I just haven't really had friends." She said kinda quietly.
"Wait no, no you aren't scary, if you are talking about me kinda...screaming in your face...you just gave me a fright, you aren't scary. Sorry about that again by the way." She said with a small smile, her face sort of crinkled as she apologised, feeling awkward about literally screaming at him. She automatically scratched the back of her neck because of how awkward she felt as it finally clicked in her head.
Then the conversation went back to music, "Oh rock, yeah I like rock, I like a lot of different kinds of music really, but mainly like pop punk or classical...yeah they are so different. I actually only just thought of that, they are on like opposite ends of what music is." Delilah laughed, looking up at him, "I also just thought of the fact that I keep rambling, sorry." She didn't know why she was talking so much, she was excited about finally having a friend who didn't just think she read books all the time.
"I'm guessing you are pretty close with your dad then, that's nice. I'm quite close with my Granny, not really my parents though." The Ravenclaw said, trying to not exactly hide the fact she didn't have parents, but at least avoid the conversation becoming awkward.
