Meeting Friends! Closed

Weeks had passed and it felt that Spring would never arrive but perhaps the luck had changed? It was a crisp and clear morning, the sky being rid of clouds. It was merely a bright sunny day with nothing to do. Until a letter arrived from a certain someone. She had asked one of her dorm mates to read the note to her. It was short and sweet, from one of her old friends that she had lost touch with due to school, the homework load, Quidditch and other activities surrounding the place. She had managed to cope with everything but barely had any free time to herself or spending time with friends. What time she did have available she spent practicing braille and sleeping.

She'd rush to get into some casual clothes, throwing on some leggings and a cream-colored sweater while adoring it with her Hufflepuff robe over it since it was a tad chilly even though the sun was out. Her hair.. well that was another story but it was up in a messy bun so she didn't have to worry about brushing it, not that she put much effort into it anyways. She then made her way down the hall and out the doors which lead to the courtyard. She'd pause realizing he hadn't seen her since her vision incident. Well that would be fun to explain. After thinking she came up with a solution and did what she normally did in any open spaced scenario with no walls for support. She cupped her hands and call out to the figure, hoping they'd meet her halfway or at least return with a call so she couldn't make her way towards him. She had already bumped into a number of people and didn't want to ram into him and have more head-on collisions with people. "Hey Dae! Long time no see!" Annie called out the nickname that belong to no one else than Damion White. A small smile appeared on her face as she stood casually in the courtyard hopefully waiting for a response.

Damii was happy that he was out in the courtyard. He had not been out in the open for a while now. He had been busy with his nose buried in the books. He had not thought of meeting up with his friends. He hated that he had let the friendships go. If this had been Dylan, he would have paid more attention but since it was not he was letting them go. He hated that. So well he was on the path of amendment. He was happy that he was going to meet his friend that he had made when he had come here. He had let her fall through the cracks and was not able to keep up with them. He hated that he had let that happen. He was going to make sure that he didn’t do that again. He wanted to keep the friends he had.

Damii had worn some jeans and some shirt that he loved. He had his school robe over it. He didn’t want to get in trouble. He was still on school grounds. He had brushed his hair and was looking pretty handsome. He had his cat who was walking next to him. He had taken Jasper to the shops first to get some sweets and candy. He had loved being here. Being independent. He loved that his parents had sent him here. He loved that he was in touch with his friend, Dylan. He wanted to make an effort to stay in touch with other people. He would get better at it hopefully. He didn’t want them to think that he would ditch their friendship. He had just been so busy lately. “Hi Annie!” He said looking at her. He was happy to see her there. “Yeah sorry about that. I had my nose buried in books.” He said as he nervously rubbed his neck and hair. “How are you doing?” He asked. “I brought us some candy, chocolates and cookies.” He said showing the bag of goodies he had. “Oh I also have Jasper here" He said pointing to his cat Jasper.

A few more moments of silenced passed.

Was he not out here? Perhaps I came at the wrong time.. alas I did ask someone to read the note for me and they could've said the wrong date or place. Am I just talking to no-one what if I look weird-

Her thoughts got halted as a voice called out to her. Her name was spoken and then an apology followed. She quickly shifted her position to meet his voice and walked towards him, pausing a safe distance away that wasn't too awkward or too close. A small grin came across her face, her spirits lifting once again.

"You reading a book? No, never! She let out a small laugh before pausing as he mentioned food. "Ooh you know me so well, hand the chocolates over!" She made the 'gimme hand' motion towards him. He then went to talk about Jasper. Who the heck was Jasper. Then it dawned on her. "Oh you said you always wanted to get a cat since the last time we talked. That's awesome! I wish you could meet Eiryk my owl one day he's a.. hoot." The brunette burst out laughing again at her pun. It was pretty bad but it didn't stop her for cracking up at it. She'd control herself again before crouching down hopefully coaxing the cat to come over and say hi.

"Jasper c'mere kitty! I don't bite I swear and I'll give you all the treats you want, more than Dae."

Damion had been waiting for her to come. He hoped that she would be here and he wouldn’t be disappointed about the whole thing. He was not sure what to expect from this day. He had been very excited about the day, as he was meeting one of his friends and he was excited to reconnect with them. Damii had not thought much about things he had his cat near him and he had some candy and goodies for this meeting. He was not sure whether she would come or not. He kept waiting for her to come. Hoping that she would be here soon. He wanted to see where this day went.

Damii looked at her as she laughed at him. “Hey now I do read sometimes.” He said defending himself. He then offered her the candies. He handed some of the chocolate bars and candies. He smiled and said “There you go. Yeah it seems like I do.” He said looking at her with a smile. He smiled as she spoke. “Yeah I finally got some money saved up for him finally.” He said excitedly. “Nice I would like to meet you hooting Eiyrk.” He said smiling. He was happy that this seemed like having fun. He looked at the cat as it mewed before walking towards Annie. He was happy that his cat was mingling with his friends.

Annie was cooing for the cat to come to her as she wasn't making any advancements towards him, afraid to step on the poor thing and get a disapproving hiss. Instead her head snapped up at the mention of food.

"Oh Dae you shouldn't have--" She'd feel the the candies and chocolate bars land in her palms, snatching them up quickly before realizing he was closer than she thought. She'd quickly stash the candies away in her robe pockets and unwrapped a chocolate to pop it in her mouth, smiling. The candy melted on her tongue and she closed her eyes momentarily, savoring the flavor. Her eyes fluttered back open.

"I'll have to bring him sometime, he's probably sleeping right now. I'll bet he sleeps more than Jasper." She'd hum as she felt the cat wrap it's tail around her leg, almost jumping before bending down to stroke her hand along the cat's back hearing loud approving purrs. Standing back up she'd stretch her hands above her head.

"So why'd you just suddenly reach out to me? Miss me or something?" She teased, her hand snaking into her pocket to pull out a caramel and popping it in her mouth, a smirk on her lips. "Nah I'm just joking, I assume you've been busy? Hey, next time we have Hogsmeade trip we should definitely go. Although that'll be next year at this rate. This year's gone by so fast, but so have all of them!" She'd frown lightly at the thought of not going to Hogsmeade, one of her favorite places to visit to escape the hell hole known as school. The frown quickly vanished and was replaced by a grin as she thought about Summer coming but the grin faltered once the events of last summer popped in her head. She merely shook off the thoughts and crouched down to give Jasper more pets.

Damion had thought it was a good idea to let her friend meet her cat. He knew that his cat was not a bad pet. He looked at Jasper as her friend petted him. He was glad that Jasper was being a good boy. He looked at her as he took out some sweets for her to eat. He wanted to make her friend feel good and thus he had brought some candies. He looked at her and said “Oh you know me. I am always the one to spoil my friends.” He said with a smile. He wanted to make her feel good with the candies and chocolates. He had not met her in a while. And he wanted to make up for the lost time. He took one of the candies and started eating it.

“I bet. He’s an owl and it’s daytime. So I assume he would be sleeping. I think he might sleep more than Jasper.” He said. He looked at her and smiled. He was happy that he was meeting his friend even if he had been absent from meeting her he was trying to make up for that time. He looked at her and smiled. He was happy that he was trying to keep his friends close. He didn’t want to be in a situation where he didn’t have any friends.

Damii looked at her and as she spoke. Was she teasing him or was she serious? He thought for a while and then said “Um… I missed you a lot.” He was being honest. He had missed his friend. “Why? Don’t you miss me?” He asked looking at her. He took another candy and started eating it. He was happy that he had got some candies for them. “Yeah I was studying for Charms, Potions and Transfiguration.” He said. He had been struggling in these. He looked at her and nodded his head. “Yeah we should go to Hogsmeade together.” He said. “Yeah probably. Aren’t you happy that you have been here for a while now?” He asked her. He looked at Jasper and then her. He was happy that Jasper was being so good. He petted Jasper’s head. He loved this so much. He couldn’t stop smiling as he looked at her. He was happy to be here.

Even if she couldn't see it, she could tell Dae was enjoying her company by how happy he smiled. You could tell a person was smiling by how they spoke and acted and he always was smiling. She was enjoying his company as well, smiling lightly to herself. It had been awhile since she actually got to hang out with a friend with no cares in the world. It felt nice for once.

She chuckled lightly when he said he liked to spoil people. He was very generous at heart, not that she minded, but he should also take care of himself too. "Well then by all means, please do spoil me." Annie grinned sticking out her tongue of which the caramel had melted and she popped another assorted variation in her mouth. The tingling in her cheek told her it was mint flavored. Turning it into the other side of her mouth she'd tilt her head. "This doesn't make up for not at least sending me owls, but don't feel bad if the candy is an apology then I will spit it out on the ground." The brunette swatted him with the back of her hand on his arm before crossing her arms and quirking an eyebrow up at him.

She felt a pang of guilt as soon as he seriously said he missed her. "Awww Dae you're being sappy." She cooed before wrinkling her nose. "Alright fine, c'mere I miss you too idiot." She'd pull him in for a hug, realizing he was slight taller than her she'd wrap her arms around his midsection for a few seconds before letting go. "See isn't that better?" Annie grinned, putting her hands on her hips.

"Bah, studying! You're doing more than I ever would. I'm more of the hope and pray kind, but I'll do my homework." She mumbled, mint almost disappearing in her mouth. The girl tilted her head at his last question.

"Am I happy here? Well that's a weird question but I suppose so, it's not bad. Just y'know besides school work there's just a lot of people and events and what not. Hard to keep track of." She ran a hand through her hair, beginning to ramble as stress bubbled up inside her. No not now, I'm finally relaxing for once! Just let me enjoy my free time with a friend. She held onto the sleeves of her robe, frowning lightly before feeling Jasper's tail trail along her leg almost as a sign of comfort.

Damii was enjoying himself and was glad that he had messaged his friend to meet him here. He missed, or well had missed her. Ergo he had called her to meet her. He wanted to meet her and see how she had been. He couldn’t wait to see how this meeting would go. He didn’t want her to think that he had abandoned her or their friendship.

He smiled as he heard her chuckle. He loved hearing making her happy. He couldn’t stop smiling. He was happy that he was finally meeting up with his friend. He liked being out and meeting his friend. He loved that he was getting some time with his friends that he had not paid much attention to. He didn’t want to be this type of a friend. He wanted to be a person who would be there for them. “That is exactly what I am doing.” He said with a smile. “I know. Candy is part of the apology. I am sorry I didn’t contact you.” He said looking at the ground. He was sorry that he had not contacted his friend. He shouldn’t be doing this. He looked at her and smiled nervously.

He looked at her and smiled. “I’m sorry?” He said raising his eyebrows. He looked at her and smiled. He got pulled into the hug and hugged her back. “Much better, Annie.” He said. He looked at her and smiled. He was happy that he had gotten a hig from her. He had missed her.

“Oh? Is that so?” He said looking at her. He smiled and looked at her again. He was happy that they were getting to spend some time together. He looked at her again and smiled yet again.

Damion looked at his cat and smiled. “Sorry about the weird question. I didn’t know what to ask.” He said bluntly. He looked at her and listened to what she was saying. “Yeah the events and errands.” He said. He looked at her and smiled. He looked at the cat and smiled. He was happy that his cat had gotten used to his friend. Damion knelt and patted his cat’s head gently.

She paused noting that Dae was still a bit spacey. Perhaps he felt bad for letting their friendship fall apart? Well, yes he should feel bad because they had been close before he up and ditched her but he did try to re-ignite the flame and that's what mattered.

The brunette poked fun at the boy, finger squishing agaisnt his cheek as a small smirk appeared on her face. "I can hear you smiling, haven't you ever heard that smiling gives your wrinkles?" She would waggle her finger in front of his face as he did admit to using the candy as part of an apology. Although she threatened to spit it on the ground it had already dissolved on her tongue as she raised an eyebrow, challenging him.

"Don't you dare apologize to me mister, we both had our separate lives. It's just as much my fault for not reaching out to you so stop moping about, I won't hesitate to chuck a butterscotch candy at your head." She'd tease, but whether he continued to apologize or not she might just throw it at him to get a laugh. Although her accuracy would end up missing and they'd be rolling around laughing on the floor or she'd poke his eye out. The thought made the corner of her lip twitch up in amusement.

After the hug she'd nod her head in approval, finally seeing him stop being so apologetic. It always un-nerved her when people apologized profusely over the tiniest things, although she did the exact thing so perhaps she was just being a hypocrite. She shoved her hands into her robe pockets and hummed. "Well maybe you can help me with homework sometime smart guy, but I'll be headed off now. Catch up later maybe in the dining hall. If you get hit in the head with a roll you'll know where to look!"Annie chuckled lightly, removing her hand from her pocket and crouching to pet Jasper's back once more before turning. Her hand waved once before she jogged inside. The meeting went well, a large smile lay on her lips as she walked away, hair swishing over her shoulder. For once she had kept in touch with her friends, it wasn't awkward and everything went smoothly. It was nice.
