Cody seemed to have heeded Ana's words and composed himself (or was at least smart enough to pretend as he had) and fired a Tarantallegra at Thomas, who managed to evade it. Pericles followed his kind words with a rather spectacular Arresto Momentum, making Cody look as though he was moving through jello. Thomas selected the same spell as his partner, but perhaps he was more focused on trash talking.

I'll suffer, their opponent bravely relented.
Pericles could respect his resolve, but what didn't set well with him was being called Perci. His mouth popped into a little "o" of shock. He glanced sideways towards Tom, agog as if to say, Did he really just...? The misname, and his ally's words, made the young co-cap all the less prone to pull his punches. With a successful "Arresto Momentum," he considered his handiwork with a raised chin and downcast squint. Evidently, "Perci" was a pet-peeve of his, for he drawled an utterly Un-Peri-like line:
"I suppose you will."

[font=century gothic]He raised his arm, directed directly towards his sworn enemy, at least, who Cody marked as his enemy for all of eternity. He cast the dancing feet charm, but yet failed. He so badly wanted to see him dance the Tush Push (line dance kind- hence the link)
Cody didn't regret his words... of him suffering... even as he was hit with Arresto Momentum, and rather, Thoma's cruel faith in targeting Cody. Thank the gods he missed, but unfortunately, his partner didn't.

"Travis!?" Thomas complained, indignant to say the least. He wanted this first year before him gone, or at least knocked out so the duel could end. The implication was obvious, this Ravenclaw took issue with the name Cody supplied. He looked over to Pericles, flashing his dueling partner a grin at the comment he made. Thomas had known his rambunctiousness to be contagious, Callie Jensen was true evidence of such.
Echoing the sentiments Pericles vocalized, Tom called out, "Hope you enjoy every minute of it!" His words reeked heavily of sarcasm.Action: As strategized

Cody was having a rough go of things. He attempted Flipendo, but the spell refused to even leave his wand. Pericles was doing slightly better in that his spell left his wand, but even in Cody's impaired state, Peri's spell failed to make contact. Thomas was able to take advantage of the Hufflepuff's slowed condition, hitting him with a Ventus.
Ana's dark eyes darted to the clock for a moment before returning to the match. Things weren't exactly finished, but they were certainly in the latter half of the duel. Things seemed to be getting a little ugly on the personal side of things, but Ana didn't have the energy to care much at this point. Anyway, a little drama was the spice of life.

Perci and Travis? The indignity!
Perhaps thrown off by the absurd name slinging, Pericles' Incendio went wide, sizzling past the slow-mo Puff. "Drat," he spat, probably the closest he had come to uttering a swear. At least Tom's Ventus struck true. Not only was Cody slowed to the speed of a slug, he was now buffeted by the wind, which would surely make the matter of evading them all the more tricky. "Let's clean up, Tom," came the grave declaration. They'd sweep the floor with this first-year for his vaguely improper name-calling.

Finally, what Thomas had been counting on all this time—a well cast spell. Admittedly the boy had started to lose his temper, not that he ever found it a hard thing to lose; for him getting a little irked seemed to be part of the game. Overhearing Cody’s pleas of suffering over the wind, however, completely cured his mood. Between that profession of hatred and his success, Thomas was in high spirits.

Cody decided that things couldn't get worse. If he couldn't dodge, then nobody could aim. The stage filled with smoke instantly. Pericles and Thomas worked like a well-oiled machine and set the boy on fire in near-perfect unison.
Ana's brow furrowed at Thomas' words. She was pretty sure that definitely wasn't the saying, although it did seem to be the state of things. Still, she had seen duels flip in seconds, so she would wait until things had fully finished concluding anything.

The insult had less agency its second time around. As Cody kept mangling their names, Pericles rolled his eyes, an act that didn't deter his spell from striking its target. "Incendio!" The burning ball crackled out, hitting home before smoke started spilling from their opponent's wand. Again? The Ravenclaw boys near had this in the bag. Smoke would only delay the inevitable.
