Playing as Aurelia N. and Hadrian Z.
The last time they'd seen each other was in the summer break. Days at the Zuheir mansion and trips to the nearby sunny beaches and long treks through the nature parks. 2 months, with her brother tagging along, they'd spent together. Aurelia could even say she grew rather tired under such an extensive period with him in near proximity every single day. With the growing distancing in the large manor, constantly wearing her animagi form and Hadrian minding his own business, she had no doubt that Hadrian felt the same. Time for some space apart that was shortly due.

The separation to their respective schools provided such, with communication transitioning from fast speech to the slow delivery of letters via owls. Yet too long of an absence made it nearly as unbearable as it was when they were put together for an extensive period. So when the time came where ilvermorny, along with the other schools, arrived at Hogwarts, Aurelia sought to meet as soon as possible.

Scheduled in the evening just two hours before curfew, Aurelia overestimated Hadrian's ability to navigate the hallways. After all, he wasn't the one spending every day around these confusing halls. It took a while for Aurelia to find Hadrian, albeit an owl while at it, the massive span of wings almost covering the width of the hallways. "There you are, little dove." Hadrian muttered under his breath, unfazed by the large owl hurling towards him, a situation that would usually cause one to move with haste out of trajectory.

It was quite the display as the owl gracefully morphed back into human form through the inertia. The massive extended wings reabsorbed its feathers and grew into arms that embraced him in a hug. "Could you be any less tardy?" She scolded. "It's not the first time you've been at this school. You've got to go back to the bunks in less than half." Breaking away from the hug, her arms would cross. Displeased that what was meant to be two hours to catch up was narrowed down to a mere half an hour.

Despite her reprimands, her words were returned with a smug smirk and a roll of his eyes. "Blame the staircases, not everyone has redbull gives you wings. Drop the facade babe, I know you're as happy to see me." There was no better truth to his words. They were teenagers in a predominantly long-distance relationship with the same teenage hormones and tumble of emotions. But teenage love, unfortunately, was not always true love. Yet living in the moment as always, a smile would break her usually stone-cold facade that a roll of her eyes would not do to hide. "Whatever," she huffed, a word not at all common for a pureblood with such strict aristocratic upbringing to use.

The next few seconds were driven by the purity of teenage hormones as they embraced. Two teenagers snogging against a wall of a seemingly empty hallway a good few minutes before curfew. Strong arms around her back and slender fingers on his cheek as she stood on the tip of her toes to overcome her short (158cm) stature against his tall frame. But their sweet moment of reunion was only short-lived as Hadrian broke the kiss. "Ay, kiddo, run the fuck along." The distinctive foreign American accent reverberated through the quiet, empty hallway. Apparently, someone had been watching. "So mean." Aurelia chuckled.

Corridors - 24th October 2021

As the day neared an end, it reached the time at Hogwarts to return to dormitories and settle in for curfew. Since Aurelius had been across the other side of the school, it meant his walk back to his room went longer than he might have liked. And while the Irish boy didn't necessarily feel afraid or discomfort at walking the long, dim corridors alone, he understood that professor expressed precautions usually held merit. So, in his school uniform with black robe over the top, and books held in one arm, Aurelius walked with clipped steps of polished shoes.

I don't think I've been down this corridor before, The student thought to himself, as he looked around and looked for anything familiar. I don't... recall any of this.

For someone who had excellent memory recollection, it was an odd experience. Typically, Aurelius could recall most details or passages within Hogwarts easily, save the ones that tended to move or were charmed to be concealed or change location. But, for whatever reason, the current location he found himself at was unknown, which added some curiosity to his movement - essentially Aurelius was looking in every which way, as he tried to take all the details in, to remember forever.

It was around that time that the sound of wings were heard, from further down the corridor, the distinct flapping of feathers. Aurelius peered ahead and caught sight of an owl that approached a lone individual - with the animal seeming quite large, in comparison. Still, before Aurelius had a chance to turn his attention elsewhere, the owl seemed to transform right before his eyes, and took on the appearance of an older girl.

What?

With his curiosity at peak, Aurelius continued to walk toward the pair, now both human looking. He didn't intend to sneak, of course, but the Slytherin's footsteps were quiet as he approached; perhaps unsure of what to make of the situation, or whether he might have stumbled onto some secret meeting between malicious enemies of Hogwarts. Yet, the closer he got, the more detail became visible in the dim lighting, and Aurelius realized the two were student age... which was kind of boring, really, and sent Aurelius onward.

That was until someone called out to him, in an American accent.

In response, Aurelius paused and made a face, one eyebrow raised, as the unknown older boy said to run along - with a crudity added, to further display his likely lack of intelligence. The Slytherin glanced over his shoulder, then the other, before he turned to look back at the random person:

"Were you talking to me?" Aurelius asked, a scoff escaped his lips. He remained deadpan as he continued. "As a student, I've more right to be here than you... so feel free to take your own advice, ay?"

Still, for whatever reason, Aurelius couldn't quite explain whatever feeling he had when he looked at the older girl. It was difficult to explain, hard to pinpoint, but there was no denying that Aurelius' heart rate increased and his gaze began to focus more fully on her. But at the same time, there was a reluctance to get closer, as something about her caused unease within the Slytherin... and it was very confusing.

I... she's...

It felt like Aurelius' own thoughts and feelings were in direct contradiction; on the one hand, he wanted to keep looking at her, but on the other there seemed to be some instinctual caution to avoid getting close.

"I'm Aurelius," The Irish boy said, finally, as he looked at the older girl. He ignored the older boy, the American. "I, uh, saw you before - erm - when you were an owl... and now, when you aren't--"

Aurelius knew in his mind, within his own cognizance, that he sounded like an idiot yet he couldn't do much else at the moment but stammer.

"--was that a spell, or... some illusion, or something?"

Nonetheless, the Irish boy stood there, eyes fixated but feet refusing to move. Aurelius felt caught on the spot, unable to turn away but also reluctant to approach, and it went against every fiber of his being - in fact, the Slytherin began to work through his thoughts, to try and gain some kind of self-control, as he waited for the very pretty older girl to respond.

If she even did at all.

"What's your name, if you don't mind my asking?"

The option of a rebuttal the student seemed to have taken to. The colours of emerald he wore provided some information about himself. Slytherin. Those snark words, however, with an ego as big as his, Hadrian would not take kindly too. His fists clenching and lips twisting into a grim frown. Conflict, Aurelia tried her best to avoid when it came to herself, but she would not mind watching the amusement of the two should they take on a scuffle. Yet his urges for a fight, in the presence of Aurelia, were low.

"Short, but you do have quite the chatter, eh, " he prodded. Indeed, if they got into a fight, the chances were in unfair favours. However, the boy's attention seemed too occupied at the moment. The look on his face, one Aurelia knew well. Awe. It did not elicit any discomfort to be shone under the spotlight again. In question, her head moved slightly in a subtle tilt. Boys and their hormones.

Words were then uttered in stammers, contrary to the assertive short speech to Hadrian. It was amusing, to say the least. The name shared such an uncanny resemblance to hers. Golden child. "Any chance you have a long lost brother? His accent is barely comprehensible," Hadrian joked crudely about h. the younger boy's voice. Yet Aurelia, like the Slytherin, heeded not much attention to the older boy's words as the next question arose. This Slytherin had seen the owl, a form kept as a precarious secret from many. And Aurelia knew Slytherins well, those cunning creatures.

"Actually, I mind-" At the question, a slight possessiveness shone in Hadrian's words only to be cut off shortly by the sharp jab of Aurelia's elbow. "It's an Irish accent. Excuse him. I'm Leia, this is Hadrian, my boyfriend." Aurelia opted for her old nickname, cautious and mistrustful of the newcomer. "I see how it is," Hadrian muttered with a hunt of annoyance under his breath, his arm was still around her having dropped from her back to waist. Not that Aurelia minded.

A question to manipulate one's own sanity and imagination, a skill she honed and applied unashamed, that came well in handy. Even Hadrian fell for her tricks sometimes. This antic she would take to salvage a small slip up of identity. "Me? An owl? Are you sure you're quite alright, Aurelius? Though I could say we were relatively... occupied in the moment to have noticed a bird fly past." She continued with her words dipped in feigned concern and a hint of disbelief, followed by the scoff Hadrian complimented it with.

"Curfew is in a few minutes, the Slytherin dorms are quite the trek away. You don't plan to break it or do you?" She asked, easily redirecting the revolving attention back at the Slytherin.

The American parrot continued to warble, as Aurelius did his best to ignore him. Not only was the older boy clearly a dullard, but also seemed to take some kind of enjoyment - maybe even pride - in establishing dominance over an eleven year old. The guy also seemed possessive, by his comment about Aurelius asking the young woman's name, which rounded out the American boy's characteristics... which, hopefully, Leia didn't think were desirable in a boyfriend.

"Would you like me to use y'all and fewer syllables, to make you more comfortable, Hadrian?" Aurelius asked, as he looked to the taller boy with an emotionless stare. "Anyway, the highbrows are talking now... maybe go punch some walls, ay?"

With his attention back on Leia, as she asked about the owl, if Aurelius had seen what he claimed to have seen, and otherwise started to act oddly to the fact said bird passing had - in fact - been her. That either meant Leia was playful and wanted to tease Aurelius with some banter, or maybe it meant something deeper, perhaps a secret?

"Maybe you're right," Aurelius replied, curious. The girl's implication of the pair being distracted to not see the owl was amusing, but ultimately trying to make someone with - essentially - perfect memory recall didn't quite work. Aurelius raised his eyebrows. "Maybe all I saw was an owl passing by... I'll think on it, see if the memory becomes any clearer. Maybe depending on how nice Hadrian can be, I'll become satisfied with the misunderstanding, and not ask around the school... we'll just have to see."

Aurelius wondered how Leia would take allowing her hot-headed and bully-ish boyfriend determine her fate. The Irish boy didn't mind keeping secrets, if it indeed was one, but turning around and acting as though he hadn't seen what he clearly had? That demanded some manipulation aimed right back at the pair.

Still...

There was still an underlying caution concerning the older girl. Something about her presence, being nearer her, caused Aurelius to feel less comfortable. It wasn't fear, or dread, because the Irish boy didn't fear anything - he knew that for a fact - but there was certainly something in her overall personal ambience that was... off... unsettling, almost. Still, there was also an equally awkward want to keep staring, though Aurelius didn't know why or for what purpose, beyond being able to admit Leia was very pretty.

"And ay, the curfew is near," Aurelius said as he glanced out one of the nearby windows and saw how dark it had gotten. "I had been studying until now, and lost track of time I suppose, nor have I been down this corridor before. It's an odd one, makes me wonder about some of the doors it connects to, as well... but no, I plan to get back in time. I think."

Aurelius had started to look down the hallway, along the fronts of some of those doors, before he returned his blue gaze to the pair - specifically Leia. He asked, curious:

"What about you? Are you planning to break curfew?"

The younger boy had yet to learn the hierarchy of such a high school setting - or any high school setting for that matter. This time the Slytherin opted for an insult, loaded, aimed and launched at the taller boy albeit at the absence of any expression present on his face or the tone of his voice for that matter. Peculiar, that one word, a single thought echoed in her head. While there was not the slightest expression on his face, a hint of a smile tugged at the side of her lips. Truly, she was quite impressed at how the boy was handling her haughty fiance.

That said haughtiness, however, would bite when prodded too far. Aurelia knew Hadrian well, and although her intimidating presence could will some restraint, it was ultimately on his free will that he acted upon. That, she would let unfold to her own - often fleeting - amusement. And with the way things were going, it wouldn't be too long if Aurelius continued poking the beast with the blunt end of his words.

The approach of gaslighting was often a hit or miss, she found. Yet she could feel his eyes still on her, they always were. At the boy's response, the couple would exchange wary glances of wordless communication. Go ahead, the smirk on her lips implied as Aurelius started to walk off. After all, it would be quite an eventful way to end the day. "Slytherin commons is the other way, actually, I could-" She paused as Hadrian left her side, marching up to the Slytherin boy. "Hadrian don't-"

"I'll tell you what I'll break," The fisted swing would land square in the shorter boy's face, inevitably. "Was that really necessary, Hadrian?" She whined, contrary when she in fact insinuated the situation. Once again, it would prove that a fake name was indeed useful. Asking about who an owl-leia was, would get him nowhere if he were to investigate. "You should leave. Before someone catches you, Hady."
