Hi mom and dad!
I wanted to let you guys know that I won't be coming home for winter break this time. I'll be sure to make it home for Easter break. There's just a lot going on at the castle, and with me being a prefect again I want to make sure that I'm around to help with all the students that aren't going home this year. I hope that's alright.
School is going fine for the most part, lots of exams around this time of year so I'm a little stressed but nothing I can't handle! Me and Astrea are still doing well and I hope you guys will be able to meet her someday.
Please leave a flower for me at Grandma's grave, tell her that I love her and will see her soon.

Dearest Sapling,
You come home whenever you're able to. You know we miss you, but would never pressure you to come home if you feel like you're needed elsewhere. We're really proud of you and everything that you're able to accomplish at Hogwarts, and we can't wait to hear about it in April. Have you decided on what cake you want for your birthday? I know its 4 months away but you can never be too prepared.
Like your mom said, we'll be here whenever you're ready to come home. As usual we've packed along some of your favorites. If you send us a letter on the 20th we'll have everything packaged up so you can celebrate Yule while at Hogwarts. Let us know if there are any friends you'll be sharing food with and we'll make sure to pack extra..
