A Quiet Breakfast Open 𝙲𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎𝚍

As Kai creaked open the great hall door the bustling energy of students suddenly swarmed him. It was unusual for Kai to arrive late to anything, especially if it was for your first breakfast in your first year at Hogwarts. He had no one to talk to so he sat down, away from some 3rd years and ate his porridge. He pulled out Hogwarts: A History and continued to read it, as he started it before coming to Hogwarts.

He tried to sort of bury himself in this book as to block himself from everyone, Hogwarts was big and he had no-one to talk to. THUD A quaffle one of the 3rd year boys was playing hit him over the head, soaking some of his pages in hot porridge. The 3rd year apologized but he obviously didn't mean it, as he was laughing on the way back from his seat.

"Great, now I'm definitely going to be noticed by everyone, if I bury my head in this book I'll look even more stupid." Kai thought. He could sense a lot of eyes on him, like bats in a cave. Sure enough he was right, because as he turned around sure enough a freckled girl was standing right behind him.

Hi! Hope you don't mind me hopping in~
That particular day had been... well, boring. Lavinia had been reading ever since she got off the train, said her goodbyes to the two she'd met at the train, and gotten herself sorted as a Ravenclaw.

Only issue was, it wasn't many places Lavinia felt comfortable at, and mealtimes, was definitely one of them.

She enjoyed quietness, peaqce, and calmness, and mealtimes were definitely going to be rough, with hndreds of kids squealing, talking, and the few that were in the Quidditch teams screaming or hollering. It annoyed the girl, who just sat and watched students, when she noticed one boy sneaking in, seemingly trying to blend in, but also, sit away from his fellow hufflepuffs.
Frowning, she saw some kids a bit away from him whisper, and one had aimed a big ball-- Lacinia didn't know more about Quidditch other than that it was played by kicking or hitting balls, and it was in the air-- at the boy, and the rest of the group laughing.

"... Is it okay for other houses and us to talk to each other?" she asked a prefect, who smiled and ushered her to do what she felt right abouyyt, and Lavinia thus stood up, walking the short distance to the end of the table, and over to the Badger-clad students, frowning a bit at the looks she got. Walking up to stand a bit behind the boy who now was, well, less clean thn before, she could only sigh, hesitant, before bracing herself, as she walked past him, and to the third-years.

"hey, you know, bullying people is very awful. Especially first-years. That ball seems really heavy, and i don't think they're allowed to even be outside of the quidditch pitch, but I'm sure you were just about to give them back to the teacher, right?" she asked, smiling at then, before looking over at the teachers' table. "Or I can ask her that you need help storing your ball that you took from its place?"

Life's no fun without a laugh!
