Victoria Homeschool
2021
Jay Victoria could have not imagined sitting in a bean bag chair, in their room, with the sun's orange light barely peeking through the window on September 1st. Usually, they would be having a grand dinner feast along with their yellow housemates, everyone chattering about being excited for the new school year. Jay's mouth watered at the thought of Hogwarts cheesecakes and never-ending sweet tea. The blue-haired student rolled off the bean bag chair lazily, then pushed themself up to go downstairs to the dining hall.1 September 2021
Evening
According to Lady Angelique, Jay could not go back to Hogwarts because they had some important matters to attend to as the role of being a Victoria. They replied with a thousand eye rolls, Jay thought this a waste of precious time. Jay Victora was never a school enthusiast but anywhere else than the Victoria manor would be much more interesting.
Most of all they feared the number of owls with packets of homework! Jay shuddered at the thought of Professors giving them extra essays simply because they're homeschooled...
Lady Angelique stared sternly at the purple-haired child, for someone with a dull mood those dark brown eyes shone so brightly. Children... Angelique had always wanted a child they thought, though perhaps after they got adopted she changed her mind. Or maybe it was Sir Victoria's disappearance that made her colder towards them.October 15 2021
Morning
"We shall be going out of town for a while," she said, "How long? When? Why do I have to go?" Jay blurted out, it was unusual for them to have to tag along for her trips, "Oh, does this have to do with my homeschooling?" they realized.
"Yes my dear, we shall be leaving in two days. I do not know for how long so pack enough for a month, won't you? We'll be going to your home country, family visiting you could say," and with that Lady Angelique made a hand gesture that indicated that Jay was dismissed and to not pry furthermore.
In an angry fit, Jay stormed up the stairs muttering to themself. A month or more? This was ridiculous, and never have they ever heard about family in their home country.
"Stupid!"
"Excuse me?" a small voice spat out, Jay looked up, bewildered. They had forgotten the painting in that staircase, Jay did not know who she was in the old Victoria family, and they did not bother to find out since the painting rarely ever said anything.
"Oh my apologies missus,"they said, flustered, and quickly ran up the stairs to their room.
It was time to start packing.

Victoria Homeschool
The rain droplets streaked against the car window as they made a turn and the sounds of traffic faded away. Jay could see the oranges and pinks in the mess of clouds in the sky, it was merely sprinkling now. As much as they loved the rain, Lady Angelique probably could have not chosen worse timing for a trip than now. It was so close to their birthday, and yet she chose to come to their 'home country, they had to stay at some crappy motel that smelled like old seaweed, and then she threw them into a car to go to some house, her excuse for not going with them was 'I'm busy, and now they dealt with this mute stranger driving them. Unbelievable.October 20th 2021
The car pulled up into a driveway, through the sprinkled windows Jay could see a tall boy wearing a black trenchcoat and jeans with bleached hearts all over walking towards them. Jay assumed he was to open the car door but they got out first, swinging their clothing and homework-filled backpack onto their shoulder.
"Hello, who are you?" Jay asked the boy, he mumbled some words they couldn't hear and walked back into the house. What in the bloody hell... They followed along, almost slipping on the wet steps in front of the door.
Rather than being a traditional Japanese house, it reminded them of the Victoria manor, except this was a small house than a mansion of course. "Erm, follow me," the boy said, his Japanese accent was barely there. Jay was quite glad their old accent disappeared, except for whenever they felt anger or frustration. They followed along into a hallway with multiple doors, this house smelled of sweet incense. "Me names Liam if you didn't hear," he said, wasn't that an Irish name? Jay raised an eyebrow in confusion, "Erm, me fathers from London, I was raised here though," Liam continued, they chuckled, "I'm adopted, I don't exactly look like my guardian," Jay said. It was quite an unnecessary comment but they felt like mentioning it, they wondered what kind of embarrassment he got for having a foreign father here.
"So um, someone waiting for you in that room," Liam pointed at the door at the end of the hall, without saying anything more, Jay entered the room and closed the door.
Jay turned around and immediately recognized the man, despite having a newly grown beard.
"Sir Victoria."
"Jane."
"It's been a while heh," Jay said looking away from his eyes, they couldn't bear it. They thought about what they would say over and over and all they managed was simply 'sir victoria', pathetic. Sir Victoria stood up from the chair he sat on and walked towards them, for a fatherly figure he was never emotional or touchy-feely. He held out his arms, it was such a foreign movement to them and hugged them. Jay was tall for their age but barely reached Sir Victoria's shoulders. Hesitantly, they brought their arms up and hugged him back.
"I have many questions," they said, "I know, and I have many answers," he replied.

The purple-haired teen slouched into the couch, processing all the things Sir Victoria said.
"So let me get this straight- that dude with hearts on his pants is betrothed to me? And we are related? Through many generations ago?" Jay asked.
"Oh dear, out of everything I said, that's the most important thing?" Sir Victoria sighed, "Yes, you are betrothed to the 'dude with hearts on his pants'."
"This is the twenty first century," Jay stated.
"Yes," he said.
"Okay. Well, I think I should go walk."
"Yes, I think that would be good."
