Taking to new heights with @Delphinia Averescu
She had determination, he would give Delphinia that, but he couldn't help but wince every time she fell because while there were potions and spells and everything else to fix such things - that didn't take away the pain at the time. Would they need a trip to the Hospital Wing when this was through? Time was going to tell although he surely hoped not.
Still, he'd flash an encouraging smile here and there, hoping that she'd keep trying and she certainly did. Finally she was able to bring herself to where he was and be nearly level with himself and he laughed along with her. "You did it!" he celebrated! "Look at you, next you'll be taking that empty spot we've got on the Hufflepuff Broom Racing Team." Okay, maybe there was still a long way to go before that happened, but hey, dreams were dreams and if she ever wanted to, he would do his best to help her get there.
"You did great, you really did. What now? Want to land and call it a day or go fly around the grounds?" The Lake was really beautiful at this distance, resting within the Scottish Highlands themselves. It was one of his favorite things about broom riding - the views. One could see things in a way they simply couldn't even imagine while standing on the ground.

"I'd like to fly around some, it would be wonderful to see the school from this height!" Delphinia almost looked down but caught herself. "As long as you keep slow, I won't even be close to you if you don't!" She joked, throwing him a playful grin. "Anyways, can we go over the lake first? I bet it will be the prettiest thing ever!" She would've normally waited for a response, but she didn't this time. She was shaking and she was happy and she could barely concentrate on anything before she started worrying about falling again, so she sped over to the lake and looked straight ahead, not down at the lake like she had initially planned to, but straight ahead until Simon had shown up beside her. Then she looked down; Why did she wait? Well, Simon was better at flying than her, to start... And though she had already flown decently high, that's not to say that she still wasn't terrified of falling. "Wow, look how beautiful it is!" She gasped, looking down at the lake in shock. It was beautiful; It was sparkling with chunks of ice floating around and the sun was reflecting off it in such a way that it would put anyone in awe.

Flying with @Delphinia Averescu
Simon was going to tell her not to worry, that if she would fall - he would catch her. That was something they called lifeguarding and practiced many, many times during broom racing practice. Still though, he thought that might make her think MORE of falling and he didn't want that so he let it go. Still, she was going to be safe with him.
The two flew, from their starting destination at the Quidditch Training Pitch and up toward the direction of the Great Lake. The ice was melting upon it and the sun reflecting off each and every piece and it caused him to wince some.
He probably shouldn't be out there too long. The last thing one needed during the Winter months was a sunburn. No one quite understood it in general - at least how quickly his skin would turn red - but most certainly not during the Winter months.
"It is beautiful and you're doing fantastic, Delphinia," he encouraged her. She really just needed to get over that small hurdle of fear it seemed because now she was right there with the rest of the first year broom riders. The flying professor at Hogwarts would be proud if she saw this student of hers right now.

"Thanks, but I hope eventually I can get to the point where I'm not shaking anymore. I think I might come out here sometimes and practice on my own." Delphinia grinned nervously, but then she noticed Simon's expression while looking down at the lake and tilted her head, a confused expression appearing on her face. "Hey, are you ok?" She asked nervously. "Maybe we should stop flying for now. You don't look so good." Delphinia looked upset as she flew downwards, but she wasn't upset because she couldn't fly any longer; Not at all, in fact, she was upset because her friend may be hurt. Lost in thought, her broom began to wobble. It's a bit difficult to put into words how ridiculous she looked. But, if someone had been asked to determine what Delphinia was doing, they'd probably assume it was a comedy act. The small girl struggled to regain control of her broom. It wasn't too wobbly, just enough so that she could barely control it but not enough for her to come out injured. As the broom took a sharp turn right, seemingly having a mind of its own, she yelled: "You stupid broom, just do what I say!" It may have looked stupid to onlookers, that she was yelling at an inanimate object, but she was (pretty) sure that that was what they had taught in Flying.

Take back control @Delphinia Averescu
"I'm fine, really. I'm fine," he said, not really wanting to go into any sort of specifics and really, he was fine - as long as he didn't stay up there much longer. As Delphinia began to descend lower, so did Simon, grateful to not be so high where all the reflections seemed to be aiming but soon he was noticing how unstable her broom riding had become. She was either not focusing or getting nervous and that was causing distress to both the broom and its rider. "Take a deep breath, center yourself, and regrip the broom handle," he instructed her. Once she had settled a bit, the broom itself would calm down as well.
"You've got this Del. You can do it," he encouraged her with a smile but made sure to keep a keen eye on her just in case she couldn't get control. "And if not, I'm here, ready to help." He'd use the term lifeguarding which is what it was actually called in broom racing but he wasn't quite sure if such a term would send her to be more nervous. Lifeguards are what one used usually in the muggle world in water when drowning and he didn't want Delphinia to think she was in over her head here.
"You just need to take back control."
