Selena pulled up a chair to the desk in her dormitory and sat down. She was about to start a letter to her new Quill Pal. Neither Selena nor her Quill Pal knew the other person's name, which in her opinion would certainly make things interesting if neither decided to reveal their respective names. Selena certainly wasn't going to. She had previously decided that it would be easier to write freely without anything holding her back if she and the person she was writing to didn't know who they were writing to. Quill in hand, she bent her head over the parchment and began to write.
@Micheal Fraizer
Selena sealed the letter safely in an envelope and handed it to an owl. "Take this to my Quill Pal, whoever they may be," she said softly.Dear Quill Pal,
I have thought about this letter long and hard, and finally decided to keep my identity a secret. I think that it will be a lot easier to write freely and without any limitations to you this way. I mean, seeing as we know we both are first years, it is only logical to assume that we will run into each other at some point, or perhaps we already have and just don't know it! Instead, I will create a pen name for myself for you to know me by.
To start with, I think you should get to know a bit of a vague outline of me. Not enough to guess who I am, but enough to get to know me. I like to read, write, draw, and almost never stop thinking. I am creative, inventive, and introverted. I'll stop there before I say too much.
Of course, this isn't even scratching the surface of what I hope our letters to be, but I think of this as rather an introductory letter. Something to get to know each other without really knowing each other. I look forward to seeing what you decide to write, and until then bid you goodbye.

Micheal felt like writing a letter to someone, but he didn't know who. He gave himself a few minutes to think but he couldn't think of anything nor anyone to write to. But, luckily for him, his wish had been granted. A brown, moderatly sized owl came into the building via the window infront of his desk not stopping in the slightest. It flew across the room and finally out of the window on the opposite side of him and his desk.
He opened the envelope to find a decently sized, folded piece of parchment. He took thirty seconds to read the letter and smiled as he realised that luck decided to join him for the day.
Micheal found it oddly strange that his Quill Pall wanted to keep their identity a secret, but he did understand why they did this as he read on.
After realising that he was day dreaming about what he felt confortable about sending and what not he decided not to waste any more time.
He walked folded the letter almost perfectly, put it in an envelope, and asked an owl to take it to whoever he's been paired with for Quill Palls and it flew off obediently.

He wondered if his letter might've been a little over board with the sincer-ness.To Whom Fate Brings This Message,
I fully agree with your idea of anonymity. You can never know who you are writing to, it could be your own best friend as much it could be your stalker (if you have one, of course). Therefore, from now on, I would like to go by "Your Shadow".
Since you gave me a hint as to who you are, its only far that I do the same. I like to see myself as creative, an author, and an extrovert. So its possible that you might see me somewhere roaming the castle with some (future) friends. I like to do literally everything you wrote down as well, I'll give you one last hint though: I would like to become an animagus by my fifth year (I sincerely hope that my animal form would be an owl or some type of avian.)
I also hope that in the (far) future, we will be comfortable enough to share a few of our secrets together.
Till Fate Do Us Part,
Your Shadow

As Selena lay reading a book in her common room, she heard a tapping on the window beside her armchair. She pulled herself up and walked over to the window, opening it for the frantic bird. It flew in and landed perched on a table in the middle of the room. She gently freed the letter from the owl, earning herself a peck on the hand. Keeping her hand far away from the owl, Selena began to read the letter.
She was glad that her Quill Pal agreed on keeping anonymity and also that they seemed to like all the same things that she did. That was something that she didn't find every day. They had decided on going by the pen name 'Your Shadow.' It was a bit unsettling, but she couldn't really talk, seeing as she had hers as the 'Moon's Child.' After finishing the letter, Selena began a response with a smile.

Selena hoped that it just sounded like she were too scared to become an animagus and not that there was something that was physically stopping her from becoming one. Like they said, in the far future secrets may be shared, but certainly she was not ready for that one to be revealed yet.Shadow,
Well, I don't think I have a stalker, but if they were a good stalker I suppose they wouldn't make themselves known. 'Your Shadow' sounds very mysterious and peculiar. I like it! I'm also glad that the two of us like many of the same things. It should make it easier to find something to talk about in the times we are at a silence.
I think becoming an animagus sounds amazing as well. If I were able, I'd want to become an owl. Something with wings so I could fly above the clouds and leave all my problems on the ground. Flying itself just sounds enticing to me.
Let's see...one thing more before I sign this letter, seal it, and have an actual owl fly it off to you. Besides the things I mentioned before, I also love to ride horses. I have been doing it for years and years and have gotten quite good at it. Unfortunately, there are no horses on the grounds here, so I will have to wait to go home to ride again. There is something about riding, something about the freedom on top of the horse that is what has me coming back to it again and again.
I hope the same in the far future.

Micheal walked into the room and almost instantly noticed that his owl was standing on his desk impatiently. This led him to think that someone closed all of the windows on the poor thing; the owl didn't seem to like the indoors a lot compared to the outdoors.
He opened the window above him desk to let the owl fly free. Suddenly, he noticied the letter it dropped at his desk; he read it, and had a slight suspicion because of how they worded the start of the animagus paragraph --- " If I were able". It was like saying that they weren't able to.
"Can they somehow not become an animagus?" He thought. The only conclusion he could come up with was that his Quill Pall was a werewolf.
"But how would that be possible? Its only our first year." He thought "That or the school has an extremely bad security issue." At this final thought, he brushed the suspicion off his mind and started to write his letter.
He continued the letter.

His next line would''ve been "What do you mean "If I was able"? But he quickly stopped himself after he wrote the first W. But he crossed it out, understanding that, if his partner was a werewolf, (he didn't think that his partner was one because he decided to stick with his own reasoning) it would make sense that it would be a personal matter that they might not wanted to tell him.Dear,
The Moon's Child
Hopefully you dont have a stalker. That would be weird; but I also suspect that if you did, they would be a good stalker, that you wouldn't ever know existed. Thanks, I think your nickname is creative aswell!
Also, may I ask why you chose the name "Moon's Child"? I mean, it sounds cool and all but what made you think of that specific name? And if your wondering, I just chose my name by random; I just thought of it.

Another night and with it came another letter from her quill pal. Breaking the seal holding the letter shut, Selena took the parchment in hand and began to read the words etched onto the page. The interest her partner was taking in her nickname worried her, especially the crossed out 'w' after. What were they about to write before they changed their mind? Shaking off her doubt, she began to write a response.
@Micheal Fraizer
It's all good!
At least, she hoped that she had made it out to be way less enticing than it was. If her partner knew her in real life it would create a bit of a problem, because they would know that Selena didn't do random things.Shadow,
True enough. I suppose there could be someone watching right now, especially with magic techniques that we have been exposed to at Hogwarts.
Why did I choose Moon's Child as my nickname? Well, I a enjoy the night and being out at that time is something that I just like to do. That is pretty much the basis for my nickname. It's probably not as exciting as you had been expecting.
Selena watched the owl fly off with fingers crossed that they didn't pry further into the origins of her name. That's cool that the two of us like many of the same things. Most people I meet have one or two common interests and that's it.
One of my friends shared with me this little trick for conversation starters, so I thought I'd try it out. She said to ask what the other person's favorite color was and why. The why usually has something in it that is appealing for a conversation. So, what is your favorite color and why?

Micheal just came up from Hufflepuffs' common room to check if a letter came from his Quill Pal, and sure enough, one did.
He got to his desk, sat down, opened it, and read it.

He ended his letter with his signature almost correct folding. He put it in an envelope and let an owl have the freedom of flying once more.Moon's Child
If there were a stalker somewhere watching someone what techniques do think they would use? I think they would probably use apparation or invisibility cloak/charm.
I think that what you said was good enough reasoning for your name. I like it, better than my. I don't know if that's strange or not, but I do. But I dont think ou should go out on nights with a full moon because of werewolves that might jump out of nowhere. They might try and kill someone, which is unfortunate because I like to go out and see the full moons.
My favorite color is every color that makes up the sunsets and sunrises for the reason that they make up sunset and sunrises. What is your favorite color and why?

A tapping on the window outside indicated the arrival of yet another letter. Selena had become accustomed to the letters by now, as the two of them had written quite a few back and forth. She was happy that this anonymous letter writing had gone so far. Sitting down at her desk, she read the new letter.
I am so sorry for the late reply!
Selena started to write, and then stopped seeing the next part of the letter. Werewolves could jump out and kill someone? Ha, that was completely unlikely. With the precautions the school took every month with the werewolves of the school there was no way one of her kind would kill someone here.Shadow,
I would have to agree with some sort of invisibility charm or such. I thought that invisibility cloaks were supposed to be rather rare though, so I wouldn't think a stalker would be able to get their hands on one unless they want to take their stalking to the next level with an expensive and rare item like that.
I like your name!
It was odd for Selena to write such things about herself and her friends, but it was unavoidable. She didn't want her Quill Pal thinking she was a werewolf, even if they didn't know each other in real life.I don't believe that werewolves would be able to kill someone on school grounds. There are probably precautions the school takes against such creatures.
She hesitated before writing,Nevertheless, I will take your advice and stay indoors during full moons.
Sunsets and sunrises are very beautiful things to watch and the colors of them are perfect in the sky. My favorite color is blue or silver because for one thing I used to travel a lot when I was young and frequently lived by oceans. Blue just reminds me of those times I suppose.
@Micheal FraizerAnd the colors are also the colors of my house. Hope that didn't give away too much, but I think it is still pretty unlikely that you will be able to figure out my identity with that.

Micheal came to the owlery and found what he was looking for, a letter from the one and only Child of the Moon.
As he unwrapped and unfolded the letter, he wondered how deep their conversation might go. He didn't exactly know what he might by "deep", yet he did at the same time.
He read the letter quickly, got some parchment and a quill and started to write.

Our conversation about your (possible) stalker has gone muc farther than I thought it would.
He, quiet literally, could think of any other word to replace the one he thought of.True, invisibility cloaks are expensive and rare. I don't think that someone would go that far into someone elses life. But if they did, that would definitely, in all cases,
He decided to move onto the color part of the conversation.(But if they did, that would definitely, in all cases,) suck.
Another true statement, I don't know why the school wouldn't have some sort of protection policy against werewolf attacks. If they didn't, that would probably make Hogwarts a bad school. I am now starting to think that the werewolf-dedicated section of our conversation is starting to get a little awkward. What do you think? If you think the same should we replace it with a new topic? Or should we quit the werewolf stuff all together?
He decided to stop his letter there, seal it up, almost perfectly fold it, and send it with an owl. He thought that the letter he just sent was much more awkward than the last few he sent.Out of the two, I think sunsets are much better to watch them sunrises. What do you think?
You are in Ravenclaw, nice. That eliminated so many people; yet the amount of people that includes is still overwhelming.
I just thought of a new idea that might tell us about each other. But there is only one rule: the object has to represent you in someway; the object can be as vaguely representing as you like. Should we do this? I think its a good idea.
From your own amazing Shadow!

Once more, Selena found an owl waiting for her when she entered her common room. Remembering that in her last letter she revealed her house to the mysterious Shadow, she opened the near perfect folded envelope and began to read the letter eagerly.
Selena looked around for inspiration for a moment, wondering what the object would be that she would write down. She believed she should keep her object more on the vague side, as she had given enough away with her house already. She glanced down at the charm bracelet encircling her wrist. The bracelet itself was an object of great importance t0 her, but she could not put her bracelet as her object in case her quill pal were to see her wearing it during school hours. She decided to pick a charm from her bracelet to write down instead.Shadow,
To be completely honest with you, the conversation about a possible stalker has gone much farther than I would have thought as well. The werewolf piece of our conversation has also gone a bit far and awkward, so I propose that we replace both the stalker and werewolf topic with something new. Let's see, what is your favorite thing about Hogwarts then? That seems like a topic that won't grow awkward or old soon.
I think I prefer sunrises to sunsets, because for one thing, I am an early riser and the sunrise signals the beginning of a new day full of possibility. It may sound a bit like a greeting card, but it is true in all aspects. Why do you prefer sunsets though? I would love to know.
Yep, I'm in Ravenclaw! There are, I think, enough people that includes to where you will not be able to guess who I am.
I think that is a cool idea! My object is-
@Micheal FraizerMy object is a music note, a treble clef to be exact. What is your object to represent yourself?
