Charles ignored Haley's words of apologies, the blonde spent much of his life before Dumstrang apologizing for things that isn't really his fault at home and with family. Now, the blonde didn't care for or see apologies choosing to take action then listen to words.

Haley spoke of a time where she relates. The teen perked up at the mention of parseltounge, eyeing her carefully as he spoke"your a parseltounge?" A monotone. No judgment or fear in his voice. The teen left his eyes on the redhead, offering a hand on her shoulder as he spoke"there aren't many who are, you should be proud of that and not keep it a secret. If some choose to judge or call you out because of it then ignore them and enact payback later," smiling toward the girl. The blonde found Haley as someome to be close to, someone to call a friend and someone to share in the depths of the soul.

Charles nodded toward Haley's words, he could imagine her visit at her grandparents house. Having had a few wrongful experiences with his own, still fearing coming out to them. The teen nodded toward her as he spoke"the best we can be is ourselves and if someone doesn't like it then cut them off," squeezing Haley's shoulder before dropping it and slipping his hands back inside his jacker pockets.

Stepping back, Charles chuckle a little as he listened to Haley. Nodding to her words. The teen found her energy fun and contagious, one thay he enjoyes being around and could get use to.

"Is that a challenge? To make them more difficult."

Haley hadn't even considered that Charles didn't know about her being a Parselmouth and looked at him for a millisecond, puzzled. "Uh- yes, yes I am." She shook her head briefly, of course he didn't know that. He wasn't a student here and she hadn't told him otherwise, but it didn't bother her that he knew either. To her, he was a friend she trusted and she was proud to have that talent. She would not hide that side, no matter what others might think of her. Haley nodded at his words and gave him a slight smile. Oh if you only knew, the redhead thought to herself, but didn't voice it. "I know." She replied to his words and nodded her thanks.

Haley took a deep breath, if only it were that easy with her grandfather. Her eyes settled on the floor, the sadness and pain evident in her gaze. She didn't want to tell everything, but she didn't want to make a whole secret of it either. After all, it was Charles and she could trust him, right? "You know...my grandfather is really not a good person. He wanted to use my talent. But that's in the past now." That would be enough, enough to make Charles understand and she was sure he understood what she meant by talent. The very talent they had just been talking about.

But they had sacrificed enough time for foul moods, that was not what they were here for. The past had passed and their time was too valuable to waste. She grinned devilishly at Charles. "Make it a challenge." She agreed challengingly and as much as she was going to miss Charles, she couldn't wait to get his challenges and most of all to be able to give him challenges too. But why wait anyway? Who said this had to be one-sided? "So, an example. Tell me a secret. And by that I mean a secret, something that every other person doesn't already know and something that is REALLY a secret." She challenged Charles without thinking any further about it. Revealing a secret was probably not very challenging, but at least this was a good start and even if Charles would underestimate her as a result, she would prove it to him differently in her letters.

Charles could have asked the girl another question or a few of them on parseltounge. The blonde is curious with the skill, knowing little about it and how one can be born with the skill. After all parseltounge is not a skill to he taken likely, lord voldermort had thr skill and wizards like him could be blamed for the reputation of others.

Charles perked his ears up, wondering what Haley meant by her words. Use her talent? Charles wanted to ask but decided best not to pry as he held his hands in his pockets and nodded swiftly. The blonde carefully studied the girl, a part of him still longing to ask as he spoke"use you?" He could imagine the ways of one using another but not with one's talent or rather skill that is.

"Secerts?"

Charles spoke as he smiled a little, it wasn't terrible but not something he would openly share either. The blonde rolled his neck back before looking over at Haley as he spoke"you can ask the secrets and I'll get you out of your comfort zone, deal," smiling Charles already planned on doing that even if Haley didn't say the word 'deal'.

The challenges should be based on emerging to the dark side and Charles took his part seriously, showing the girl the dark side and having her embrace it. Charles smiled toward her as he wondered if that secert thing was real or not, maybe he should answer or maybe not?

Haley didn't really want to think about it but somehow it was part of her now. It was a part of her, a part of the past and who she was today. She nodded as Charles repeated her words, "Mhm." She thought for a moment about telling him, about the amulet, that they had only got in contact with her because of the hope that she had inherited the talent and they had hoped she could open any ancient relics with it. But that was something that would not be an issue today. She didn't feel ready to talk about it now, maybe someday but maybe never.

"Oh no, not a secret I ask, a secret you tell me without question." Haley corrected the tall boy beside her. "But yes, deal." She agreed with a smile, not yet knowing what the young Gryffindor had really gotten herself into. "So, do your challenge and you can give yours to me." She shrugged, trying to spur him on a little more. But what the red-haired girl didn't know was how seriously Charles would take his task, that one day he would challenge her to beat someone and he would really complete his task. She would get to know the dark side.

"Okay so, tell me a secret." She challenged him now, because it wasn't just an example, it had really been her first challenge to him. She leaned against the cold stone wall and looked at him with a raised eyebrow. A look that said without words: I'm listening. She put her hands in both pockets of her trousers while she waited anxiously to see whether Charles would manage his challenge or not. But she estimated that he would not simply fail his first challenge. No, she didn't think of him that way at all.

Charles offered a nod toward Haley. He realized that the girl didn't want to talk about her family and he wasn't going to push, the blonde understood how families can be a struggle or annoying. Some might vuew his life as comfy or wealthy for how he grew up, a pureblood in a manor surrounded by wealth but money can only hide so much. Not everyone knows what happens behind close doors of the Alluring manor.

Charles rose his eyebow listening to Haley, they had a a deal but she's also asking for a secret. A secret from him. The blonde stared for a moment. Unsure what to say. He isn't open about his homelike or family, preferring to ignore the topics and smile on the life ahead of him. The life he has with his friends.

Charles leaned aginest the wall besides Haley. Dwelling over what to say. He can do something simple, perhaps saying that he is gay or maybe he can do something deeper. Deeper? Deeper as in he's a disappointment to his family. That they don't care for him. Thay he wishes he wasn't born a pureblood?

"A secret? I'm gay and I draw I guess," Charles replied figuring the two sounded good. He couldn't think of anything better and both of those are secrets, only a few knows that he draws and only a few friends knows that he's gay. Not even his family knows. Turning toward Haley, back still aginest the smooth surface of the wall as he spoke"a secret for a secret.
Tell me one of yours."
A small smile and nod as he waited.

Haley looked tensely at Charles, who took the place next to her on the wall. She didn't know whether he would really take up the challenge, but the way she could judge him by now, she had a feeling that his pride would not allow him to be defeated. But what was more interesting was not whether he would, but what he would say to her. Her gaze continued to rest on the tall blond boy, taking a moment to absorb the image of him standing there. She looked over his blond hair, the leather jacket, his gaze as he stood there thinking. What secrets lay dormant deep within the boy beside her, what secrets was Charles Alluring hiding from the world?

And there it was, a secret he had decided on, the secret he would share with Haley too. Haley couldn't help but giggle, the two things were so far apart that she found it really funny that he had so casually put them in one sentence. She hadn't thought about Charles being gay but in the end it didn't matter. It wasn't like she didn't know anyone who was gay or lesbian and it wasn't anything new or strange to the young Gryffindor. "So you draw." She looked at him with a raised eyebrow. The boy who ran around the school having a fight every two feet was using the power of art to compensate? "What do you draw?" she inquired before leaning a little closer to him. "Don't worry, your secrets are safe with me." And winked.

"Smart." She said dryly as it was now obviously her move. Secret against secret. She could have been aware of that before, but of course she hadn't thought that far ahead. She turned her head forward again, looking at the cold stone wall opposite her, and thought for a while. Did she have secrets? Okay, yes, there was her grandfather but they had talked about the subject very superficially and she wasn't in the mood to tell anything else, he also knew now that she was a Parselmouth and this wasn't really a secret either. It struck Haley at that moment that she was simply an open book - for the most part. She really only hid a few things and she knew she would have to dig deeper. If she was really looking for a secret, it would be hiding in her emotional world.

"Mhh." She kept thinking until she finally had something to tell him. "Okay, so. I think almost everyone stamps me as the sweet, happy girl. Helpful, supportive, open and warm." She was that too, no question about it but Haley had other sides to her, "But that's not all there is to me." Obviously, because after all, she wanted to know the dark side. "Very few people know that I can be very different." Good, that wasn't really a secret now, Haley would have to be more specific. "Here are a few good examples from my relationship." She had to laugh at that sentence and shook her head, "Well I would never have described myself as really jealous, but what can I say, with Simon it is sometimes difficult... or better different. He's very polite, he has lots of female friends and I'm sure at least half of them have a crush on him. There have been moments when I've seen him dancing with others, brushing hair out of their faces, looking deep into their eyes. Things like that. And while on the outside I tried to be calm, friendly and not make a drama out of it, because it's not bad, here and there it looked completely different inside me. I felt anger, I wanted to go and start a fight. Those are sides of me that even I worried about sometimes and I just repressed them." She shrugged. It was a silly secret and she just found it hard to put things into words.

Leaning aginest the wall, the blonde never knew what to say or how to phase his words. Secrets? He never imagined that he had any or any important ones. Never viewing his situation as special or important, mentioning it to others usually could mean complaning since others had much harder situations. Still he couldn't deny that his family... his homlife was always perfect or happy.... thise problems cut deeper than a knife through family and blood (metaphorically).

Smart was it? A secret for a secret. A exchange or tactic, one that can let Charles learn more about Haley. Get into the young girl's mind and see what he would need to do get her to over to the 'dark side'. A secret peek into her mind and their journey together as he listened.

Nodding to the words, biased and assumptions about being happy or positive. Helpful, used, supportive, and a good person. A person who puts themselves before others. Someone living in the light. Charles scuffed at the thought, looking forward to helping Haley changed that as he listened. Finding himself different, maybe even honored to know this other half, to know Haley's true parts and what lays behind her smile.

Listening to Haley describe her relationship with the boy; Simon and how he has a few female friends whk may have crushes on him and who he treats in a loving way. The teen suddenly feot the urge to pumble Simon if he did cheat or leave Haley for one of his many female friends and crushes. Listening. The blonde waited, placing a hand on Haley's shoulder as he spoke"and emotions are understandable and next yimr you see that, use them," a soft het half smile as his eyes flickered those Haley as he continued"show those girl's that Simon is yours, next time you see that walk right up and put yourself in the middle," for someone that doesn't have much experience with love since he has only had/have one relationship. The blonde was giving uh... maybe not the best advice.

After the thoughts and words she had never uttered before left Haley's lips, she felt uncomfortable. It wasn't because of Charles, but much more due to the fact that she was expressing such emotional and private thoughts so openly. To a boy she really liked a lot, but too often she was disappointed by people she trusted too much too soon. But not with Charles, right? Or maybe she did? Would she have to learn the hard way again?

But at least it had been an exchange of secrets. She couldn't help but listen to her gut and trust Charles. If her feeling disappointed her again, then she would have to learn it the hard way again. But for now, she was not to be disappointed. There came no laughter that made her feel ridiculous. There was no look that made her feel insecure. There came a reaction that showed her that it was okay. That there was nothing wrong with her feelings and emotions and she appreciated the gesture. Thanking Charles, she smiled and formed a soft "Thank you." With her lips.

Something told her that she could trust her feelings. After all, he was showing her the dark side, sharing secrets and giving her helpful advice. This could not be a deception, she dearly hoped, and Charles made her feel she had nothing to fear.

She couldn't help but laugh at his advice. "Aight. I will put myself in the middle." She repeated and winked at him. "Charles I really don't mean to be rude but it's been a long day and I have a lot to process. You know, all the new stuff with the dark side and all." she gently bumped her body into his side and giggled. "I'm getting really tired. Will I see you the next couple of days?" she asked now and as soon as she got an answer, she would say goodbye to the tall boy and make her way to the Gryffindor common room.

Charles offered the redhead a small nod accompanied with a half smile. The girl reminded him of someone, not essentially himself but a mix of those he knows. Of those who he wants or wished to help. Younger than him so perhaps that why it was easy to see her as younger sibling, as someone to protect. To help. To teach. To offer support and words in times of need.

Resting his head aginest the cobblestone wall. The blonde knew he shouldn't be doing this, shouldn't be this open or helping of the girl. Questioning his formal promise. To not let anyone else cloae? Haley is a outlier. Already close and someone who he cares for. Someone whom he sees as a younger sibling, a younger sibling who dares walk the derk side with him.

Her words. A flicker toward the window. Dark skies. The blonde noted the time, realizing that he should be headed back to the cabins. A breath. Pushing himself off of the cold cobblestone wall, eyes laid on Haley Rose. A nod. Followed by a half smile as he spoke"remember the lessons, I'll see you in the morning." Charles meant those words. Only planning to meet with his group of friends that trip so naturally he jad tone for Haley Rose.

A head nod and half smile as he spoke"good night, miss Rose." A nod. Charles then turned on his heels, hands in his leather jacket pocket. Walking away. His path the cabins where durmstrang students were told to stay. Walking there. Alone. In the darkness of night. Walking to his bed.
Charles has left the thread
