"You should join again, I'm in it and we could sing together, mate"Henry said to Cash after they informed the blue-eyed boy. Cash looked at Henry for a moment. They mulled over their answer. "I will join again next year"They expressed. Cash missed showcasing their singing chops. They need to drop out from the choir before the choir even begins.
Because back then when they were still first-year, Cash still trying to find their balance and footing through all the things that related to school-related that they took partake in. Be it Quidditch or school assignments. Now, as a third-year, the green eyes already found their footing and hopefully could balance everything.
Cash knows if they rejoin the frog choir again, they will be busier than ever. Not to mention they are also a writer for the school newspaper. But singing with Henry and some others they will get to know when they rejoin, worth the hassle. After Cash informed Henry that they had enough for today's practices, Henry agree to it.
"Sounds good but don't think you're free. We're going to practice spells till supper after this,"The Viridian Viper told Cash. The young socialite let out a small groan. "Do we have to?"The Beater whines like a little kid. Cash took a deep breath and sigh. "Well, I guess some practice would not hurt since my spell-casting game is not up to par"They expressed.
Throughout this dueling practice - training, not a single spell that they cast at Henry managed to hit the other boy. The Beater knows that the key to success is to focus on the task at hand but it seems something bothers the green eyes. Some of their home life problems, they already share with Henry albeit not everything.
It seems their best mate can feel that Cash started to get annoyed with themselves. "You can do this! Don't overthink. Breath, relax, clear your mind and then cast"Henry instructed. Cash did what Henry said. They saw the other boy point their wand at the green eyes. A spark flies out from his wand, hits Cash's and suddenly their feet dance like crazy. Cash let out a laugh.
"Well played, Knight!"They said to Henry as their feet still moved. They did not expect that Henry will use the Dancing-Feet Spell on them. "An example. As you dance, try what I told you"Henry gave Cash a challenge. It would be a bit difficult to sling a spell while their feet dance and muck about but they will try their best.
Cash then switched their wand handling. From their left into their right hand. Since Cash's feet did not stop any time soon, it is a bit hard pointing their wand at Henry as their wand is wobbling because their feet still keep dancing. But then Cash tried to not overthink things.
They breathe in, breathe out, and relax their mind.
Then when their feet dance a bit less crazy - though it still moves -, Cash saw a window of opportunity. They pointed their aspen wand at the other side of the piste where Henry stands. "Incendio!"They make the wand movement and whisper out the incantation. Soon a spark flies out from their wand.
Cash smiled when their spell finally hit Henry. The spell that they slung gives a bit forced but not strong enough to set Henry aflame. It seems the Lady Luck is definitely on Henry's side today. Henry definitely lucky today. First, when Cash casted the Slug-Vomiting Charm at the boy, Henry managed to sidestep the spell.
And now, though Cash's spell hits him, it does not have enough power to burn the other boy. "If I knew my right hand more powerful than my left, I should have done it earlier,"They expressed. "Maybe if I used my right hand, all my spells could hit you in the first place"They added and throw a playful smirk at Henry.
Their feet still dance and moved about. Cash's green eyes averted from their feet to Henry. "Hit me with your last best shot, H"They uttered. "Then if you could cancel out the spell, that would be lovely since I started to feel sweat rolling off my back"Cash informed the boy between their breath.

Henry nodded to their worfd about the choir, letting the topic slip by. There would be abother time to dicuss singing snd the frog choir, right now is a time for dueling and spellcasting. Also for having a reason to hit Cash with a few hexes for no reason and not draw a reaction from their friend.
Henry rolled his eyes a little at Cash's whinneing, the teen smiled softly as he spoke"yes, we have to. Spellcasting can save your life one day, who knows who you may end up standing aginest in the future," the teen wanted his friend to be perpared. Wanted to keep his friends safe, loyalty is a fault of his. The teen onlt wants to protect and do what is best for those he cares for but what he doesn't know is the one who stands opposite of him, rhe one he calls his best mate might not be that way forever....
Henry nodded toward their comment. The spells he was casting wasn't that dangerous or damage heavy. They were the kind to embarrass one or distract them from the task at hand. First a singing jinx then a dancing-feet jinx, the teen smiled to himself. Feeling that he earned some sort of pay back from the quidditch match last year.... and technically Henry hadn't fell off his broom so he wouldn't cast anything truly harmful at Cash that day.
The teen glanced to the side of the room, eyes flickering on his feline. Loki laying a few deer away from Aero, watching the slithering serpent. Ensuring his feline is safe, the teen didn't see the incendio that Cash sent their way.
Feeling the jinx hit him, the teen felt a immediate sense of warm flood his body. Tightening his chest and taking gasps of air, the sensation familiar. Lasting for a few moments. Henry shook his head, checking over his body to ensure that he isn't on fire before looking up at Cash as he spoke"fire? Really," the teen brushed a few strands from his face then continued his speaking" if you render your opponent from casting then you don't have to worry as you cast damage and offensive spells," a bit of advice that he picked up from his time on the Viridian Vipers.
Henry laughed a little toward Cash's remarks about the hand they were using then spoke"it isn't about the hand you use but about your mind, if your mind is focus and strong then casting spells becomes second nature," the teen aimed his wans for himself and casted a quick healing spell. Episkey. Onto himself then turned his wand toward Cash, ending the dancing-feet jinx with the counter curse then casting reparifors over them.
Henry jogged over to their side, taking a stance besides them as he spoke"I'm good, let's pratice a bit then we can head to dinner together?" The teen leveled his mayhaw wand, attempting to show a few dueling strategies before dinner.

After the green eyes let out a whine like a little kid, it seems Henry very amendment for his best mate to get it right about Cash's spell casting. "Yes, we have to. Spellcasting can save your life one day, who knows who you may end up standing against in the future,"The blue-eyed boy said to Cash. They rolled their eyes playfully toward Henry.
"Nice pep talk, mate!"The green eyes said without any malice in their words. "Do you aspire to be the next DADA professor when you are grown-up or something?"They jabbed Henry while throwing their lopsided grin. When Henry averted his eyes from Cash towards his cat, the Beater know that they should not throw any opportunity.
The Quidditch player sling a Fire-Making Charm to the Viridian Viper duellist but like their previous attempts, the spell did not do much or hurt Henry in the slightest. "Fire? Really?,"Exclaimed Henry. When Henry said that, Aero opens his eyes sleepily. "Spells. Suck"The black and yellow snake hissed out.
"Shush you!"Cash replied in Parseltongue then stuck their tongue out towards Aero. Then Cash realise that perhaps Henry never heard Parsel being spoken out loud and the language itself could be bone-chilling and jarring from time to time for people who rarely heard it up close and personal as Henry did.
"Sorry that you to hear that,"They spoke up. "About the Parsel, I mean"They added. "It can be quite unsettling for some, you know"They continued. "And yes, fire! Why the hell not?"They let out their mischief grin. "Gotta live up to my name somehow, if you know what I mean"They stated referring to Cash's first name which is Phoenix.
"If you render your opponent from casting then you don't have to worry as you cast damage and offensive spells,"Henry continued giving Cash some dueling advice. "So, in another word an element surprise is a good kind of surprise?"They inquired the boy. "Is that what you mean by that?"Question the green eyes towards the Duellist.
The Latinx gave a moment for Henry to answer both of Cash's inquiries and after Henry did that, the boy let out a little laugh regarding which hands the green eyes are using."It isn't about the hand you use but about your mind, if your mind is focused and strong then casting spells becomes second nature,"He stated then he pointed his wand towards himself.
Then pointed to Cash, ending the dancing-feet spell. "That was exhausting,"They replied and made a show by swiping the sweat from their forehead. "It is easy for you to say,"Cash uttered after they let out a big breath. The dancing-feet spell definitely worked them out. "You are a season Duellist, mate!"They added.
"This is why I prefer Quidditch rather than Duelling. Too much concentration when casting a spell. That feat alone exhaust me"The Beater spoke in a joking manner. "Joking aside, thank you for doing this with me,"They expressed after Henry stood beside the green eyes. "You good? I know the Knockback Jinx or the Fire-Making spells could be an unpleasant feeling. Sorry not sorry about that!"Cash let out a grin.
They truly did appreciate what Henry has done for them. "I'm good, let's practice a bit then we can head to dinner together?"Asked the third-year. Cash let out a groan but they comply with Henry's request. "Sure! but if I have a major headache after this, I'll fully blame you"They throw a not so angry glare at Henry.
The good thing today is Sunday. So both of them didn't need to worry whether their little Duelling practice - training will disturb their classes or not.

The teen offered a small, smile as he shook his head before back up at Cash. Unsure if werewolves could even become professors, the only one he heard of his Remus Lupin. The teen pushed a few strands of hair out of his eyes as he spoke"I don't even think I can with the fury problem," choosing to use the disguise word for the lycanthropy since Cash already knew that he was a werewolf only fair since he knew of Cash's parseltounge ability. Although the snake bothered the teen a bit... a slytherin afraid of snakes, how strange.
At his words, his ears caught the hiss from the snake and he had to restrain himself from hexing it as Loki eyes the slithering being. The teen offered a smile as he spoke"it's fine, kinda cool actually," not minding the parseltounge since he just viewed it as another language before laughing at the mention of Cash living up to their name. Remembering their first name as he spoke"if that's the case, shouldn't you be the one on fire," a mischievous glint in his eyed as watched them.
Nodding to their question, a sense of surprise? The teen wouldn't have used those words but they do work as the little duel continued wanting to help his best mate and not imagining that they would ever be on oppsing sides, wands drawn or spells firing at each other.
At the end of duel, the teen jogged over to Cash rolling his eyes playfully at their comments as he spoke"your a quidditch player, you should have some stamina," taking a place besides Cash as he listened to them compare quidditch and dueling before asking if he was fine which to that Henry replied with 'fine' before suggesting to what they should do next.
At their words, the teen smiled a little as he spoke"I'll wirte your essays for a month for any class, happy complainer," the teen joked a little as he watched them. Ready to step in and offer advice if needed.
