Hailey Farin Durmstrang

Hailey is an only child, and was raised by her mother and father. She had a rather strict upbringing with her parents and developed a bit of atelophobia, the fear of not being good enough. She constantly worked to please her parents, even if they didn't always deserve it. Truth be told, they weren't the best when it came to parents in Hailey's eyes. They were inflexible, stern, and constantly pushing their only daughter to be better. Whatever she did felt like it was never good enough for them, but they weren't cruel. Both her mother and her father had rough upbringings in poor homes and they never wanted their daughter to struggle in life, so they pushed her to the breaking point physically, mentally, and emotionally. She knew they were just doing what was best for her, but she hated feeling like she wasn't good enough. This never stopped her from breaking the rules though. She is a troublemaker at heart.

Hailey is a very athletic girl. She doesn't play any sports though, and the reason she lists for this is that sports are too easy and teamwork isn't really her thing. There is one sport that captured her eye and snared her heart and it was cross country. Every year since she was seven years old she has participated in cross country during the cross country season. In the off season she trained every day until it started up again. She also enjoys swimming long distances, but doesn't compete or anything.

Her first instance of magic was not something she enjoys sharing because she finds it humiliating, even if it was of huge importance in her life. Hailey had been swimming in a literal freezing river to prove to some kids who had been bullying her that she wasn't a wimp. She was shivering and cold as she swam past the ice floes on the river. When she looked up to the riverbed to see the kids she thought they were obviously going to be awestruck, but instead they were laughing their heads off at the freezing girl. Despite being in a freezing river, Hailey felt a strange warmth in her body. It was extreme anger at those kids for believing her to be such a fool and even more angry at herself for falling for their tricks. Suddenly water burst out of the river and each of the bullies squarely in the chest. They never bothered her again.

Hailey Farin is confident, protective, resourceful, and decisive. She has no trouble when it comes to decision making because she is confident in everything she does, even when it comes to life changing decisions she can choose easily. She feels like she has to be in control of every aspect of her life, and when she is powerless she becomes fearful. Hailey loves to challenge herself and others both physically and mentally. She can be extremely persuasive, which can be both a blessing and a curse. She is always, always very energetic. Even if you wake her up in the middle of the night she'll be raring to go immediately. She likes to be aware of what others think of her, but she won't let it sway her. Hailey is extroverted, but independent, refusing to become obligated morally to feel like she has to do something for someone else. However, she keeps herself cold and distant from her peers. She is emotionally stone cold and protects her true feelings with this. She is mischievous and has no problem breaking the rules just for fun, which constantly lands her in a heap of trouble.
