Gryffindor Roar of the Lions - House Cup Party

"Why do you need sparkling sticks when you can just use a spell like Periculum?"
Parcel tilted his head to the side at the question. Was she serious? These things weren’t really comparable, were they? Of course, it was fun to fire of the Periculum spell and watch it burst into a colorful lantern in the sky, but firework had its own kind of appeal to! Its smell, the flames, the sound, it was all different then if you cast a spell! He still remembered looking at the firework the muggles in his hometown would light on special occasions. The sound and smell they left in the smoke that would blow in after the firework had exploded, aah, yeah, that was nothing the Periculum spell could reproduce Parcel thought. He wanted to explain it to the girl so that she could see it the same way he saw it, but she kept on talking, so Parcel didn’t have the time.

Well, yeah, obviously he had learnt the Periculum spell, but he didn’t share her view on them being much the same. And wait, perhaps girls didn’t find the same things as boys entertaining? Not having had to much interaction with girls around his age he didn’t know what they liked. Parcel had the idea that most people deep down usually liked the same things, he was pretty sure that was true, right? But maybe girls didn’t think the same way as boys did? They probably did to an extent at least, maybe they just had different opinions on things that went ‘boom’?
Parcel really thought that most people think the same way, for example, it was the simple things like how you must wake up in the morning to get the most out of a day, and like how you have to brush your teeth or else your mother would know you didn’t do it… How she knew you never understood, but she always knew. There was also the other stuff however. Like how you always have to try and match your farts to when a ghost passes by, and then you have to hide somewhere, or jump behind a corner and vanish into the night, so that other people think that it was the ghost that farted! And then you would have set out a rumor that ghosts fart!... yeah, he couldn’t be the only person thinking like that, that was probably something everyone thought!
And then there were things that goes ‘boom’. Ahh, explosions! They are the best, simply the best! They make noise, they make smoke, and light, and sparks sometime, and also a lot of other cool stuff! Explosions must be something everyone finds awesome! And you can do so much cool stuff with it to! You can tie things to it, and if the firecracker is big enough you can blow the stuff up! You could tie cakes to it, that would be fun! Or perhaps a bag of glitter, that would also be fun. Or a water bottle, then the water would go everywhere, like, with a splash! Or you could tie a Garden Gnome to it… that to would go spla… ahem, it would be fun, yeah, fun.
Or maybe confetti, that would be blown into the air and scatter around!
It was so many good ways to use a little explosion! It was something everyone had to be thinking! If not, why would muggles use it to celebrate? It was almost like magic without using magic!
"Don't tell anyone and don't use it indoors."
Having spaced out in his own train of thought. He perked up as she handed him the baseball sized firecracker. He hadn’t even noticed that she had enlarged it for him! He looked down at the firecracker in his hand… Awesome! This girl was really cool! And apparently pretty good with magic to, Parcel himself was falling a bit behind on their homework. But it seemed like he had to work a little harder if he didn’t want to fall to far behind the others!
“Name’s Aurelia, by the way. You’re welcome. ”
Smiling brightly, he looked at Aurelia, he was about to say his own name when she abruptly turned around and left… Umm, did he smell or something? Trying to smell his own breath, but not thinking it smelt bad, he just shook his head. She probably just had others to say hello to, seeing as she seemed quite nice she probably had a lot of friends already.

Looking back at the big firecracker in his hand he laughed a little. He would have to properly learn the spell himself, so he could make more of these. Being happy with what he had gotten he put the big firecracker in his pocket and thought of what to do next.

He brought with him a box of the normal sized firecrackers and found himself a place where there wasn’t to many people. There he started to light some of them and threw them in the air. His eyes would go round every time the crackers burst into light with it’s rattling and noise.
“Wohoo! We won!” Letting his childish enthusiasm for all things ‘boom’ get the better of him he shouted out words of praise as he tried to light to or three firecrackers at the same time. Or tried to throw them fast on after the other so that they would blow up right after each other.

Gryffindor Roar of the Lions - House Cup Party
With a fake mock-frown, Max shook his head sadly and crossed his arms in a mirror of Eris's posture. "You're implying I'm not a crazy maniac. I'm hurt. Who else but a crazy maniac would help you piss off the profs by setting fireworks in their class?" His frown morphed into a cheeky grin as he considered the trouble they could get into. He was supposed to lay low and get grades, but during the time that he'd spent here at Hogwarts his views had changed a little. Besides, a couple of the profs weren't pure-blood and his parents wouldn't be all too upset if he messed with them.

Nodding, he started helping Eris gather up fireworks, sliding them into various parts of his robes and trouser pockets. He paused mid-theft when she pointed out Rhea's outfit and he had to blink about sixteen times to convince himself she was wearing what he thought she was. "Wow," he managed to get out, his voice sounding slightly strangled with the shock. "Nice. I'll keep that in mind for the next party." Truly, he had to admire the confidence it must take to show up to a casual party dressed to the nines. Rhea was certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Blinking away the stunned expression, his grin grew as he heard Dorian's yelling and caught sight of his friend, completing the immortal trio who would likely end up expelled by second year. "I like Sorrel!" he yelled to be heard over the clamour. It was true; he thought it was hilarious how she seemed to dislike children. He thought that if he grew up to be like any teacher, it would be Sorrel. "I say Barclay! That way we won't accidentally set the class on fire and burn more Hufflepuffs." Plus, his parents would be much more understanding if it was in the classroom of a Muggleborn prof.

He was about to begin working out the logistics of the plan with them when Dorian suddenly parted away to greet Aubren, clearly trying to serve as a distraction so they could hide the fireworks. Ah, she might not approve their plan since she'd already had to try talking the profs out of giving Dorian attention. He shot a quick glance at Eris that said 'you're on your own for the hiding' and started stuffing fireworks everywhere they could fit. A couple of smaller ones in his shoes, a bunch in the pockets of his robes, a couple tucked into the waistband at the back of his pants. It was uncomfortable but they were hidden enough. With a despairing look at the remaining ones he couldn't hide, he picked some random kid and dumped the fireworks into the kid's arms with a grin that said 'shut up and take them.' Then he rejoined Eris with what he hoped was a serene expression.

"There’s something brittle in me that will break before it bends."
