She has an appearance that leads most people, upon first seeing her, to assume she is pleasant and polite, well behaved with nice manners. This is because of her neat, clean clothes, which are always immaculate and never messy. Although usually seen in her school robes, Violet still takes care to keep them neat and tidy. When not wearing her school uniform, Violet sticks to simply, put-together outfits, such as blouses, pleated skirts, white stockings, and Mary Janes. Her blonde hair is shoulder-length, with bangs framing her face., always silky with a hair never out of place, which seems to further allude to the "pleasant and polite" persona. Despite people often assuming Violet is a well-behaved child, this is not the complete truth. Certainly, she is not rowdy or rambunctious, not a rule breaker who causes mischief for fun. However, she always speaks her mind and is very outspoken about her thoughts and ideas. She is not afraid to tell someone exactly what she thinks of them or their ideas, which leads to her being perceived as a little rude or misbehaved at times. However, overall, Violet is fairly well-liked by adults. Peers, on the other hand, usually find her to be haughty and stuck-up, a little prim and self-absorbed. This is partly due to her tendency to be brutally honest and always speak the truth, or what she believes to be the truth. For example, Violet finds herself to be quite smart, which she is. She gets good grades, is quite resourceful, and is a overall an intelligent person. However, sometimes she lets this get to her head and she may be condescending towards others if she thinks she's smarter or better than them.

☾ Vio is a strong-willed person, intelligent, a tad insensitive (alright, a lot insensitive), and very ambitious. She has a love for learning and can usually be found with her nose in a book. She soaks up knowledge like a sponge and finds learning to be one of the most important things in her life. However, the most important thing to her is to reach her goals - of which there are many. Saying Violet is an ambitious person would be an understatement. The main focus of her life, what drives her, is the desire to reach her ambitions. She has many great plans for success, and intends to complete them all. Whether or not she actually will complete these plans remains to be seen. As for hobbies, these are limited mostly to reading, playing the piano and flute, or reading ahead in her textbooks. ☾

======================= C H I L D H O O D Violet grew up in a fairly typical pureblood family of French descent - although they had been living in Scotland for several generations. Her parents had many traditional pureblood beliefs, such as purebloods being better than muggle borns. Although Vio didn't agreed with these ideas, she never tried to change her parents' beliefs, because she knew it would be a futile attempt. Her mother, Gertrude, was a very prim and proper woman, with a stern face, gaunt figure, and sunken eyes. Her appearance matched her personality quite well, as Gertrude was not a very motherly or caring person. She was fairly indifferent to her only child, Violet, not paying much attention to the young child. She, like Violet's father (who was similar in personality to her mother, but even more absent in her life), believed the best way to raise children was to let them do things on their own. M A G I C Violet's first instance of magic was during an occasion, when she was about nine or so, where she got into an argument with her mother. This was something that didn't happen very often, because although Vio was normally someone who wasn't afraid to speak her mind or get into arguments, she usually tried to avoid fights with her parents. They would be unpleasant for both parties. However, in this instance, her mother was nagging her about one thing or another - perhaps her studies with her tutors, or another ball they'd be having - while Vio was attempting to read a book. This allowed Violet quite a bit of freedom and independence, but it also left her quite lonely. Her parents let her do what she wanted as long as she kept up the perfect pureblood appearance and had good results with her tutors, who gave her the basics of education (such as reading, writing, math, etc.)

However, she wasn't really able to make many friends. Although her parents did associate with other pureblood families and expect her to make "connections", even from a very young age, Violet never made any true friends. Most of the other children had also been told to befriend her just to gain something, so this meant they never opened up to each other or expressed their true feelings. This lack of opportunity to make friends also followed Violet to Hogwarts, where she finds it difficult to make friends. Eventually, Violet had finally had enough and burst out at her mother, telling her to leave her alone. As she did so, the book in her hands launched up into the air, whizzing across the room and smacking her mother straight in the face. Now, this was quite a heavy book, and Gertrude stumbled and fell to the ground. Violet, fearing her mother's wrath, had ran over to help her up. She wasn't sure what had just happened, but she hoped her mother wouldn't be too mad. Luckily for her, her mother forgot all about whatever they were arguing about, and ran off, rubbing her sore nose, to share the joyous news with Violet's father.
