A Chilly Night With A Stranger
Arceus quickly ran up to the top of the Astronomy tower, he wanted a relaxing place to just lie down and think, so he sprinted up, going so fast he almost flew up the ladder and once he reached up he slid to a stop next to the edge of the tower, "This was a good idea" he thought to himself as he sat in the relaxing breeze, before lying down on the cold stone floor and feeling the cold stone touch his back through his robes, making him shiver slightly, but he didn't care about the temperature, he came here to relax.
He closed his eyes and listened to the complete silence surrounding him, the only noise there was was the faint hoots of the owls in the Owlery which was around here. He had to be careful not to fall asleep, or he would probably catch a cold out here but his lack of sleep recently made that hard, he had really been working a lot on his Prefect duties, and with his homework too, now a good nights rest felt like a luxury to him.
He was drifting off until heard a sound coming from down below, not wanting the person coming up and seeing him lying down in the middle of the tower he sat up and went to the opposite edge of the wall from the trapdoor, he then saw the trapdoor open.

A Chilly Night With A Stranger
Eri needed a place to go. She didn't care that it was past curfew. She just had to get out of the common room.
Eri was reading a book on charms as she walked up the steps of the Astronomy tower. She was absentmindedly climbing the stairs as she read while walking. The brunette had mastered that skill.
She was wearing a blue t-shirt, grey pants, and some black sneakers. Eri was also wearing a white cloak with fur on the inside to keep her warm. Since it was cold outside.
The Ravenclaw ascended the stairs and opened the trapdoor not looking up from her book. She was entirely unaware of Arceus's presence and she walked to the left of the trapdoor and looked up from her book and at the night sky. It was such a beautiful night. The stars were beautiful.
Eri looked back at her book and walked to the right side of the tower and sat down. She really needed to learn to be observant and not so absorbed in her books all the time. She probably wouldn't notice him unless she happened to look up or he speak to her. Eri kept reading and was about to shut her book so she could look at the stars.

A Chilly Night With A Stranger
Arceus sat, with his back to the wall waiting for someone to come through the trapdoor, suddenly it opened and he stared at a girl he didn't know as she climbed climb up the ladder, with her face stuck in a book which seemed to be about Charms, he didn't know how she got up the ladder with a book in her hands but he didn't question it. He stood there silently watching her as she stood there not even looking up or making a sound.
He wanted to say something but was afraid he might scare her and she would move back in surprise and fall off the tower so he silently sat there thinking of something to say, she had stood there for a good half a minute before he realised it would just be creepy if she decided to finally look up and see a stranger had been staring at her for half a minute in complete silence so he slowly lifted his hand and while waving slightly said,
"Hey, what're you doing there?" he smiled at her "And can you tell me how did you get up the ladder while reading, I can barely get up with nothing in my hands without almost falling off" He realised he should introduce himself so he got up and went a little closer, "My name's Arceus, Arceus Powers! It's nice to meet you!"

Eri looked looked up and heard the boy speak to her. She face palmed. She did it again, was completely oblivious of her surroundings. "I just climbed with one hand. Though you have to climb slowly. Step then your then step then your arm. I'm Eri windstone, Ravenclaw, nice to meet you." Eri said extending her hand For him to shake while the other hand put her book down next to her. "I'm sorry. I am so oblivious when I read. I need to be more aware of my surroundings. I just came up here to read and escape the common room. To many people there." She said.
Eri didn't know what he thought about her being oblivious to him before he spoke. It really was hard for her to be fully aware when she read. Which she guessed was normal, but she still didn't like being that way.
The brunette's emerald green eyes sparkled a small bit in the starlight. The stars were incredibly beautiful that night. They all shown brightly in the night sky. This truly was the place to view the stars. Whoever built the castle did a good job placing the astronomy tower where the best view of the stars were.

Arceus listened to Eri explain, with much detail, about how she climbed the ladder, he doesn't mind when people do get into detail though, because he himself makes that mistake multiple times, she then introduced herself as Eri Windstone and shot out her hand, to which he replied with by shaking her hand with his own.
"It's ok, I can become oblivious to my surroundings if I'm doing something else, reading really does suck you into another world so it doesn't really matter there's really no need for an apology" he listened as she explained why she came up, slightly nodding his head in understanding, "That's why I came up here too, and to have a break too, it's been really hectic down there recently a lot of work and a real lot of people".
He smiled at her and sat back down on the cold stones, patting beside him, motioning for her to come and sit by him, he sat there and although the walls were protecting his upper and lower body it still hit him in the face, pushing his hair out of his eyes. Eri listened to him tell why he was there and that being oblivious happened when you read. She still felt bad though. Sometimes when you were oblivious you missed things that might never see again. And she didn't want that to happen.
Eri wished there was a place like this at home. Where there was a fantastic view of the stars. It was a wonderful site to behold. More tiny twinkling stars than she could count. It was beautiful and she wished she could see them like this at home, but there are to many lights in the city to see all the stars.
Eri walked over and sat next to Arceus on the stone floor. "Yes it is. So many stars up there. Too many to count or try to name them all." She said. She wasn't even sure if all of the stars had named. Well of course they didn't they weren't all discovered yet, but still they were beautiful to look at. She didn't know how many constellations she could see from where she was sitting, cause she didn't know many names of constellations. Anyways looking at the stars was still fun even if she didn't know the constellations.

Arceus looked at Eri, she was thinking about something but he didn't really bother to ask, they stood in silence for a while both thinking, he didn't know what she was thinking about but he was thinking about how hard of a decision it was to decide to come here, even though it is the best place he's ever been to where people are so nice and understanding.
"You're right there are so many stars in the sky, to think that for every star, every tiny spot of light there's a whole other solar system, some bigger than ours and some smaller, in every one of those solar systems there might be life, there might be something looking at our star right now as just a tiny light in the sky, just like we're looking at their solar system".
He took a deep breath letting the cold, fresh air fill up his lungs, the air was so fresh here, it was cold too, but Arceus didn't mind that, all he cared about was the moment, once he went back home and tried to look at the stars all he would see is concrete, he loved savouring every moment here like it was his last, even though he will come back here again, he will come back up here multiple times because he loves coming up to the Astronomy tower.
"So.." he asked, "Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?" he asked with a smile.

Eri nodded at his statement. It was an interesting statement. "About me? Well I'm Eri windstone. I aspire to become an animagus. I also may want to be an unspeakable in the department of mysteries. My parents are famous daily prophet journalists. I never see them, they always are busy. I really like transfiguration. What about you?" Eri asked not really wanting to talk about herself to much. She didn't really like sharing very often. Eri glanced up at the stars. They were beautiful. So many beautiful lights in the sky. He was right for everyone there were more out there we couldn't see.
She frowned in contemplation. There wasn't much about her life she thought was interesting. To others maybe, but to her it was boring. Someday she knew it would get interesting, but for now she could only wish for something interesting to start happening.

Arceus listened to Eri talk about what she wanted her future to be, it was nice hearing how she had planned it out, unlike him, she also talked about her parents and how she never see's them while he stood there listening contently. "That's a nice future you have planned out," he told her, "An Animagus is a witch or wizard who can transform themselves into an animal right? Well, what animal do you think you would become? I would probably be a small dog, one that's super hyperactive and happy all the time"
He smiled showing that he was quite happy most of the time, "I have absolutely no idea what an unspeakable is though, I guess it's because people never speak about it" he said emphasising the speak then chuckling slightly, "And you were talking about your parents, well to be honest I saw my parents almost everyday when I came back from school but I never really talked to them I... well I stayed in my room most of the time but their jobs were pretty cool, my dad owned a small club, and my mum worked in an I.T department at a big company." he paused thinking about home.
"Well, I guess I talked to them more, I really do miss them here, but I'll see them pretty soon so I'm looking forward to it, even though I enjoy it here more.. the kids back home aren't really nice" he frowned before staring up at the stars his eyes glistening as the stars reflected their light off them.

She hadn't really planned her whole future out. In reality she only had a tiny clue of what she wanted to do. "A fiery orange Maine coon cat. And I don't really have my future planned out. Those are just goals I want to accomplish in my future. Yes well Unspeakables Wouk in the department of mysteries. Nobody really knows what they do." She laughed at his unspeakable joke. He was really nice it seemed. He didn't tell her that she wouldn't be able to do it. Which she really wanted to accomplish her goals.
Eri listened as he talked about his parents. She has read her parents articles in the daily prophet many times. They were good writers, but they could have spent more time with Eri. At least he got to see his parents every day. She smiled hiding her sadness about her parents. "That is nice. Well not everyone is nice. Just ignore the kids at home. Though some kids are just jealous of others and are mean. I miss my Aunt. She is Ann animagus. Can turn into an owl. It's really cool to watch." Eri frowned remembering the kids started her home that were mean. And then smiled remembering her Aunt.
