Give It All You've Got
January 9, 2022.
After the Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw Broom Race.

They say to become the best you can be you need to give it your all. That was exactly the synopsis for the Hufflepuff victory result over the Ravenclaw team. While eagles may have been born to fly agilely in the wild, when it came to broom racing at Hogwarts their flight skills needed some help - lots of help - and in the form of physically attacking opponents. Some were thrown early at the race's beginning and the last three, in desperation, were aimed for him, successfully hitting him but after he had already brought the badgers to triumph.
Earlier that evening it had been a difficult race, filled with scratches, bruises, and bundimum acid but he had continued on, racing passed the finish line. "SIMON KINCAID CROSSES THE FINISH LINE, DECIDING THIS RACE FOR HUFFLEPUFF!" he could hear the moderator announce and there was a roar of cheering rising in the stands.
It was a Hufflepuff victory and Simon felt elated. He was just about to turn around to welcome his fellow badgers to the finish line when there was a quick pain to his shoulder, followed by one to his back, and then BLACK.
A projectile thrown by one of the Ravenclaw players had hit him in the back of the head, and already having been injured, combined with the two other hits he just received, caused him to lose balance and slip off his broom. He would fall to the ground and there he would stay.
"Er, we - WE NEED A HEALER HERE!" the moderator would call, helping the Hufflepuff victor to get medical attention.
It would be nearly two hours later before he would begin to open his eyes there in the Hospital Wing of the Third Floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry - feeling confused, disoriented, and in pain.
Simon was glad for his first official race with the Hufflepuff team that they took the high road and that it came out in their favor.

AngelFyre had never been to a broom race before, and she had been completely transfixed, especially in light of who she had shown up to support. The boy was a marvel. His first broom race and he brought it home for the Hufflepuffs. It was a rollercoaster ride just as a spectator, so AngelFyre could not imagine what it must have been like for Simon. He must have been having the time of his life until.... the great fall after crossing the finish line.
Those dirty birds!
She was certain she would never be able to get the vision of him falling to the ground out of her mind. As soon as she saw him go down, she said a quick goodbye to Phoenix Adair and raced to the hospital wing. She knew the redhead she had only just been made aware of that morning would likely be showing up, as well as his multitude of friends, so AngelFyre just kind of lurked out of sight. She said who knows how many prayers for his recovery, and was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief when she heard he had finally opened his eyes.
AngelFyre left without his even knowing she had been there, and that was fine. He was okay, and that was all that really mattered. But distance was what was going to to be called for between them now that she knew about his redhead.

Clair's team had lost the race, much to her sadness, but she had put up a good fight she had thrown rocks at Winter and Avery and a stick at Simon, this was not her normal self, never had she thrown something at someone else before, well unless you count throwing horse poop at your sister.
Clair had put her broom away, and before she had even talked to her team she had rushed up to the hospital wing, where she guessed Simon would be, Clair's racing uniform was dirty from the race, but she did not have any cuts or scrapes herself, so she was fine to go see Simon first, well she would of even if she was half dead!
The Ravenclaw came in and found Simon's bed, AngelFyre was already there, Clair wondered if Haley would come in too.
Clair smiled half heartedly at AF, "Hello AngelFyre, how are you today?" Stupid question to ask, but it was just a attempt to be nice, Clair looked at Simon, "Oh no, Simon...." She looked at Simon and guilt filled her up, was this from the one stick she had thrown at Simon?
"Oh I'm so sorry! Did I do this to you?" Tears showed themselves to the world, they dared to trickle down her face, but Clair did not stop them, she just stood there looking at Simon and feeling super Guilty.

He's losing his mind, @Clair Fernandez
As he began to climb back to consciousness, bizarre thoughts began to dance in his mind and take leave of magic, spells, potions, and magical beasts. There was more and it all seemed quite elaborate but as he began to try and focus on what he was thinking about, the more the thoughts seemed to escape one by one until now, as he blinked a few times and looked up to the slate ceiling of the large open room he didn't have any recollection at all on thoughts from moments ago.
A girl was next to him, standing at his bedside and was apologizing to him profusely, tears welling up in her eyes. Simon looked to the brunette and gave her a slow and kind smile. "No, love, of course not," he whispered to her, hoping to assure her that she had done no wrong. As to what situation she thinks she might had caused or who she was - he didn't know.
Simon took a moment to look around the large room. In his mind, it looked like some sort of infirmary back from World War I era and the fact that he was lying there in bed with someone asking if they did this to him, he gathered that the 'this' was some sort of injury. Besides, he felt pain in his shoulder, his back, and his head, and he felt nauseous. He had no idea what had caused this but there was no way it was the girl at the side of his bed. She looked too nice to have done anything.
Simon sat up slowly, fighting the pain. He wanted a better look at his surroundings to get a better bearing of where he was. This wasn't the nurse's office at school and he was pretty certain that all of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital was more updated than this. He had been there once before to visit Mrs. Higgins, his Youth Book Club librarian when she fell ill. Was there even any lights in the room? It seemed most of the light, at least this time of the day, was coming in through the windows but he still glanced up to see that no light fixtures were along the ceiling.
Still trying to understand where he was, he caught a calendar that rested on the wall that said JANUARY and there was a crosshatch on each of the days leading up to the 9th to which he concluded that it was January 9th, a date that fell on a Sunday. Quickly he scanned the room for a clock.
No clock. That was odd.
His eyes glanced back to the window and determining where the sun was he sighed. "Oh no, I'm missing youth choir practice, aren't I? Father Colven said I couldn't be late again. He got really mad when he found out I was late the other week because I was off snogging Emma Taylor in the Chapel of St. Paul," and he moved the blanket away and turned to the side to get himself up but dizziness took over and he found himself at a pause. Maybe he shouldn't be trying to go to choir practice today.

When Simon woke up and muttered something that did not sound very right, Clair wondered if he had a concussion, getting hit by a million things can do that to you, even if you are a dhampir!
She watched as he looked around, she looked around the room to see if he was looking for something, and then she let her gaze land on Simon again, she looked at him with confusion "Youth choir? You don't Have that anymore do you?" what he said next was the most gross and confusing thing ever, and Clair so badly wanted to laugh, but that would be rude and Clair was not rude, (very often) Simon of snogging in a Chapel!
That was when she realized that he must have been thinking he was in London, "No your not in London, you at Hogwarts, in the Scottish Highlands, remember? You just won the broom race, you beat me and the other Ravenclaws."
She wiped the tears from her eyes, she hoped Simon was just playing some sort of game, some sort of joke, but if he was just joking... Why was he talking about this Emma Taylor? Was he not dating that Anderson girl back in London? She shook her head in confusion, Simon was a boy after all and boys are just confusing.

Give It All You've Got
Communicating, if you can call it that, with That Girl, not yet known as@Clair Fernandez
Hogwarts? Broom race? Ravenclaws? What was this girl talking about? He looked around again. Everything was so old there, so basic. Cool, in some respects, but also very different than what he was used to. Was it a juvenile detention facility? Who did he beat?! Physically beat?
Or was this like a psychiatric hospital for youth?
Simon began to feel very uncomfortable. The only thing he DID understand that came from the girl's mouth was 'you're not in London.'
"Why am I not in London anymore?" he asked, but he felt that was a question that would really only be able to be answered by Aunt Maggie. Where was she? Maybe she went down to the facility's cafeteria to get some tea and probably was striking up conversation there with one of the staff members. Hopefully she'd return to the room soon and clear all this up for him with a simple explanation or something that made SOME kind of sense.
This girl, as nice as she seemed, was as crazy as he was so she wasn't going to be able to provide any clarity.
"So uh," he tried to think of some sort of topic of conversation that the two could have, some way to pass the time until Aunt Maggie returned, but he was coming up short. She mentioned the Scottish Highlands and he supposed it would probably be nice to visit there but since he never had, it wasn't something he could discuss very well. He heard it was pretty there though.
"Do they have a choir here?" he asked, hopeful. He hated the thought of all his friends back in London still meeting during the evenings to practice and then being part of mass on Sundays without him. Hopefully this was just temporary. "I would miss singing otherwise."
"I suppose not though, I mean...if we're bored enough to gather up brooms from the broom closet and have races with them." She said he won and he tried to think back to a time where he and others were in the corridor or somewhere with a broom stuck between them as they scurried along like penguins or something. No recall.
And she said she was a raven-what? Something with claws. ...Was that her diagnosis?

Give It All You've Got
@AngelFyre McCubbin @Simon Kincaid @Clair Fernandez
While Haley had just been sitting in the stands, excitedly watching Simon win the race for Hufflepuff, she did not join in the cheers of the crowd as she saw Simon fall off his broom and land on the ground without moving. "Damn it!" she cursed to herself as she jumped up. Simon still wasn't moving and she knew what that meant, she immediately turned around, squeezed through the crowd of students cheering and took off running. She ran as fast as she could, the only thought in her head was about one thing, much more about one person, Simon and whether he was badly hurt.
Completely out of breath, she arrived at the hospital wing and already saw Clair and another girl, but that didn't interest her at all at that moment. The most important thing was Simon and the redhead kept running to his bed. She could hear him, they were talking. That was a good sign and for the first moment a huge weight fell from her heart. No matter how difficult the current time between them was, Simon was one of the most important people to her and she would do anything to make sure he was okay.
Haley stopped at an empty spot by the bed and looked worriedly at her still boyfriend. Worry was written all over her face, her breath was rapid but she ignored all the signals her body was sending out, screaming for oxygen. "Oh god, Simon. Luv are you okay?" she asked anxiously before concentrating on breathing again and reaching for his hand.
"Has anyone been here yet? Has anything been determined yet?" she asked around the room, more to the two girls, without taking her eyes off Simon. She could imagine, ask who the unfamiliar face was. She could give Clair a nasty glare, as it was the Ravenclaws who were to blame for this, but there were more important things.
Full attention was on Simon and while she waited for any answer she silently hoped Please let him be okay Please let him be okay Please let him be okay.

Give It All You've Got
Still unsure where he is with @Clair Fernandez and @Haley Rose
He was taken by surprise when a redhead rushed into the room and over to his bedside. Normally he would have thought that she'd be there for someone else but since she got his name right, it appeared as if she knew him. As did the other girl. Simon looked at them both and then back to the redhead and smiled.
"Yea, yea, I'm sure I'm fine," he said to her, his eyes slowly scanning across her face and then locked in at her pretty green eyes. "Actually, I'm more than fine right now."
Now it was a little concerning. Before, if he was in some kind of psychiatric facility then it made sense that he had done gone lost his mind and that's why he didn't remember any current details and that made sense as to why the brunette girl was lingering there wanting some kind of conversation with her weird words. But now? Now before him was a lovely redheaded girl and she didn't seem crazy; she only seemed concerned.
Who was she? She was acting as if she knew him. If she had gone to his same school he surely would have remembered that face, as alluring as it was. Maybe she had seen him before when he played hockey against another team or something. That's the only guess he could venture.
"I'm just wondering where my Aunt Maggie is. Have you seen her?" His gaze stayed fixated on hers and he took that hand he was holding of hers and brushed his thumb gently against the back of hers. She was a girl who wasn't shy and he liked that. And maybe, just maybe, she wasn't a patient here. She seemed to be able to come and go from that room freely. He wasn't so sure about himself or the brunette.

Simon had heard about the Ravenclaw vs. Hufflepuff incident, and being the kind girl she was, she had to get something for Kincaid and check if he was alright.
The issue was, Simon had no idea if he was vegan, or had allergies, or even liked chocolates. She wasn't gonna put Kincaid into anaphylaxis shock. So she got him a note and some water. The note read-
'Sorry about your injury. You looked cool crossing the finish line, at least. Have some water, stay hydrated. From Other Simon.'
Simon walked in to see Haley Rose and Clair Fernandez talking to him. Simon walked over and cringed. "Darn. That's gotta hurt. Oh, hey Clair!" Clair didn't look all that happy, and Simon could understand why. If Simon had thrown sticks and nearly killed her friend she would also feel guilty.
"Aw, Clair, don't feel sad. He's okay now, see?" She handed Kincaid his water. "Drink up. I recommend it."
Simon may not know Kincaid personally, but they shared a name, so it was kind of a requirement. Also, it would suck if he died- he was pretty well known.
Now Simon was asking where his aunt was, and Little Simon decided to answer him. "She doesn't go to Hogwarts, Simon. Are you okay? I'm concerned and so is everyone else. It seems like you're suffering memory loss. Gosh, i hope this isn't permanent."

Clair sighed "your not in London because your in Hogwarts, your a Hufflepuff, and you are learning Magic!" She said urging him to remember, what could she do to bring back his memory?
And that was When Haley Came in Clair felt that there might be hope maybe Simon's girlfriend would be able to help, "Haley, Simon can't seem to remember anything." She warned, even though she was pretty sure that Haley would not listen to her, after all who would? When Clair had been the one to throw the stick.
That was when Clair got a idea, pulling out her wand, she stepped closer, not in the way of Haley but Closer, to Simon.
"Simon, Do you know what this is? Do you remember?" She held her wand out for him to see, but she did not let him answer "this is my wand, you have one too, and you can cast spells with them, see?" She tried to think of a harmless spell she knew that would prove the magic to Simon,
She could do Lumos, but that might hurt Simon due to his dhampir-ness.
She could do four point spell, but what would that prove? That she could spin a wand.
That was when she seen it, on Clair's pants was a snail, it looked to be clinging on for dear ligpfe, she wondered if it was clinging on to her because it had just been pulled along in a broom race poor snail, she bent down and picked it up, "Choclea Bibe" she said, moving her wand the right way and everything, the Snail turned into a teapot.
"There see, Magic." She said, setting the snail turned teapot down she put her wand away, "remember anything yet?"

(Edit; after being requested by staff to edit a part of this i have just changed it to the snail being on Clair's leg, most likely it stuck to her when she was racing.)
