Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 1
Sarah's head was all over the place and this duel only seemed to be getting worse for the snakes. The girl couldn't say she knew her partner all that well, and she had certainly not known about her parents. It made the declaration even more jarring, and her mind went foggy for a moment as memories of fires and screams and pain filled her mind. She could herself speak a little about losing family members in ways no child should ever have to. Her mother and Albert were never far out of her thoughts, though the way they came crashing back to the forefront at the mention of dying parents had her eyes entirely glazed as she was hit by a spell and stumbled backwards, only barely managing to catch herself.
She tried to refocus herself on the duel she was currently in, pay more attention to the spells being thrown at her and use her wand to throw some back. Her gaze was obscured by unshed tears and her hands were shaking where they clutched at her wand. It would be easy for her to settle into her sadness, allow the pain to break her more than it already had, but she'd promised herself at the start of the year that she wouldn't let it hinder her anymore. So instead, she let it seep into anger, a burning rage inside of her which fizzled just beneath her skin. She was angry that her mother was lost before she'd had time to really know her, angry that her brother was murdered before he'd even fully grown up, and angry that this duel was so unfair since the moment it started. The odds were stacked against them and she doubted they'd be able to turn the tables now. But there was a reason why she'd started duelling int eh first place - she didn't want to be defenceless, the least she could do was fight back.Action | Doing as strategized

Santario was already not looking good at the beginning of the round, and Galton and Alan planned on capitalizing on it. Santario attempted to hit Galton with a Knockback Jinx but the slippery candy king was able to dodge it. Similarly with Sarah and her Fire-Making Spell II, Galton had this scary way of being able to sense a spell coming to him before it even happened and he was able to dodge easily.
The Gryffindors casted the same spell on Santario, a high damage spell: Knockback Jinx. It really only took one to take her out, but they both hit her at the same time. The girl fell to the ground, knocked out for the rest of the duel. Willow couldn't help but feel bad, it seemed like Santario had been having a hard time. Being knocked out in a duel probably wasn't the greatest feeling. "Stop casting! Santario has fallen." Her voice rang out above the crashing of spells as Santario was taken off the piste to receive medical attention.
The fog finally cleared from the piste on the Slytherin side to reveal Sarah standing by herself. Willow only gave a nod for the duellists to continue.

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 1

Santario would make a last attempt to do some damage and help her partner. She knew it would be futile to try and heal; it wouldn’t have done nearly enough good. As soon as they both targeted her, she was done, and she had known it.
She stared at Alan as the fog started to lift while the blue blazes of the knockback jinx came for her. Santario didn’t even try to brace herself for it as she watched the older lion with a cold, almost dead expression until the very second that the spells hit her.
They would slam into her body and send her backward with the intended effect. Santario was rendered unconscious for only the second time in a duel. Her body would be removed from the piste, something she would not be conscious of.
Santario, in the end, would receive enough medical attention to gain consciousness, whether here or in the hospital wing, before denying any further treatment and disappearing once more. Any attempts to find her after the match would not be successful. Though likely, a fretting and plausibly frightened intern would have quite the story to spin about the hostility promised if she was stopped from leaving.

Alan wished he could spend his next action healing San just right there and then, but had to acknowledge it would have been a horrible choice considering the duel was not yet won. However it ached to see Santario fall unconscious from being beaten and in pain, especially his Flipendo must have shook her to the core. He would have to check up on her afterwards, despite the fact she likely would not appreciate it at that time. Though he was not yet aware that when he would go to the infirmary later that day, he would not even get to see her inside, let alone talk to her again. For now he had a duel to focus on, and a Galton to support.

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 1
Compared to their first match this year, things were going pretty well. He felt a lot fresher than he did last duel at this point. His wand and him were happy to compare notes on differences between the two matches. Really quite interesting subtitles between them.
With the successful knockout of the mad snake, Galton would narrow his eyes on the remaining opponent. Half way there.

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 1
Sarah watched in resignation as her opponents both locked eyes with her partner. It was unnecessary for them both to go after her as they did when either one could have caused enough damage to knock her down by themselves. That the school let their students fight until any of them were unconscious had always been beyond her, but the fact that both lions had thought it fit to throw spells at a clearly weaker opponent didn't sit well with her either. At that her spell hadn't hit either was infuriating. A part of her wanted to end this duel right here, follow after her fallen partner and make sure she was okay, but she knew that wasn't really an option. And Santario certainly wouldn't thank her for forfeiting the duel for her sake. So instead, she looked back across the piste with bright eyes and a slightly furrowed brow.
"Well, fuck," she breathed, an airy laugh which held very little humour despite the way her lips curled around the words. She didn't scare easily, but even Sarah could admit that her current position wasn't exactly ideal. They'd gone into the duel knowing they were the underdogs, but she'd not realised quite how difficult a fight this would be. Santario was out cold and Sarah already felt winded, but the Gryffindors had barely a scratch to be seen, not even a hair out of place. Ultimately, no amount of talent could really stand against being outnumbered as she was. And against older students with heaps more experience than she had with duelling she knew she was fighting a losing battle. Not that she let the fear slip onto her face. Perhaps the only outward sign that she was nervous was the way her fingers twisted round her wand - spinning in around and around between deft digits as she wracked her mind of what to do now.Action | Doing as strategized

The fog that had just lifted from the piste and granted Willow sight to the duel settled once more as Alan cast the Fog Charm on his partner and Sarah. It was smart, being that Galton somehow saw through it all. Galton took care of the cloud above them by moving it to the other side and hit Sarah with a well aimed Wind Jinx that hit her perfectly, not even giving the girl a chance to dodge. Sarah attempted to rid Galton of his wand but he held fast to it. To top it all off the cloud crackled loudly and struck Sarah with a lightning bolt. Willow wanted to encourage the Slytherin, she knew what it was like to stand alone on a duelling piste. But it was not her place, so instead Toad got squeezed just a bit tighter.

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 1
Sarah had never considered herself particularly lucky, nor unlucky, though as she was once again engulfed by a thick fog which allowed her to see barely a few inches from the end of her nose, she suddenly felt as though she had seriously pissed off someone with a higher power. She'd not quit, never had been one to do as much, though the temptation to just through in the metaphorical towel and walk off the piste while she still could walk was becoming ever more appealing. Still, she wasn't afraid of what was to come - or at least that's what her face told. That was until a strong gust of wind hit her directly in the chest, causing her to stumble backwards. She heaved in a few deep breaths from her slightly slouched position, entirely winded, and supposed at least the fog managed to hide her and her pain somewhat from those watching.
The snake, not quite done fighting, tried to cast her own spell in response to the beating she was receiving though it fell short. Perhaps being so breathless and trying to cast wasn't the smartest of moves. Her luck - or lack thereof - only worsened when she heard the threatening crackle of electricity above her head. It afforded her a second of warning of what was about to come before she felt the current run through her, white hot. It was reminiscent of being on fire (something which Sarah had experienced when she was younger, not just in the duelling piste) though the fizzle of heat which lingers on your skin from fire was instead fizzling away beneath the surface. He r whole body thrummed with a power which wasn't of her own devising and she bit back a pained shout when she could finally inhale again. She absently wondered how her partner was fairing right now, and thought perhaps it might be easier too if she was in a bed unconscious beside her.Action | Doing as strategized

Alan watched as the fog was conjured up, enveloping both Galton and Sarah now, making it difficult for him to see either of him. "If you are in trouble let me know," the fifth year muttered toward the silhouette of his partner. He trusted Galton with this fully, knowing and hoping that it would only be a question of moments for them to win the duel. It was also somewhat a redemption for their last duel that didn't go quite as planned!

Mr. Wand had made an excellent point about the clouds over their heads. It had been quite a while since forming, and surely a bolt of electricity was bound for one of them soon. Wood and lightning doesn't work. So the two of them agreed that moving the clouds away would be a good plan. But Galton was going to try to turn that plan into a great one. Why not try to really knock the socks off of the audience? Blow them away, you could say.
So he could aim to split the bouts of wind at Sarah and the storm clouds. Wild antics like that were sure to wow a few. And Mr. Wand would enjoy the rush - did enjoy the rush of power. As he watched his spell split and wreck havoc on the opposing snake he congratulated his Wand. Just a little more Mr. Wand... Little more
