Percival stared at the boy for a second or two. A hard to read look rested across his face as he studied the other's clueless expression. The boy turned his attention towards the skies as he did his best to hide his cruel smile. It was interesting to watch someone be so clueless to anything bad that could happen. In truth, Chen was far more alike to the rabbit than he probably thought. Though, that seemed too harsh. The rabbit at least knew when it was in danger.

Stanley shook as he saw Ethen go down. He had to go out onto the pitch and make their team proud. He could not let them down! There was no way he would let Hufflepuff loose another match. The boy stood from the bench and le out a shaky breath before getting onto his broom and flying up towards the rest of his team. Stanley did not want to make any drastic decisions and wanted to play everything cool. If he pretended everything would be fine nothing would happen to him. "Stop being such a coward. It's just a game. You can do this." He whispered to himself quietly taking one big gulp before he focused in on the teams strategy.

As Ethen chased the snitch, he finally felt as though he was drawing closer. Moment by moment he could feel it getting nearly within reach...until his broom was hit. It all happened in a second and he hadn't even seen the approaching Slytherin player. One moment he was flying forward and in the next he was in the air by himself. He knew this feeling well now. The stress of that fall until the inevitable collision with the ground. What made it worse was that this would mean that he still would never get the chance to fully finish a game. He had faith in his replacement but doubted he would see the end of the game as the ground found him and stripped away his consciousness with an audible thud.

As with most of the games, the game of Quidditch had devolved into a game of destroy the seekers. A reality that was made harder by the fact that one of those seekers was her boyfriend. But she couldn't do anything about that beyond making sure her team showed as much determination and aggression and the other team. If they were going to hunt Ethen, then she would take the fight to Dan. Getting into an optimal position to launch a surprise blatch, Atlas hesitated as she watched Ethen get ripped from his broom across the pitch. Her teeth grit and she looked away as he fell, not wanting to see him hit the ground.

She hated watching it but now it seemed she couldn't even get her revenge. As her attention turned back to Dan, it seemed that her teammate had already taken care of their seeker as well. Losing Ethen was a tough situation, especially because it looked like he found the snitch, but at least the Slytherins felt the sting as well. Both teams were getting battered and now with the second strings just making it to the pitch, Atlas knew that there was still a lot of game to be played and she had to try and do everything she could to help bring the victory to her house.

She'd wanted to blatch Ethen again, to watch him fall, to smile as he hit the ground. Call Koko sadistic, but it was the truth, and she wasn't usually like this. She was angry. She suspected quite a few Slytherins were. They wanted Ethen gone.

It seemed everyone on either team was posed to strike, save for the Seekers, who made lovely targets. Koko hesitated, glancing around her and waiting to see if anyone would do anything.

They were frozen in time, if only for a moment, before the game happened in fast-motion.

Koko hadn't been ready, hadn't been ready to save - and at first, she thought she didn't need to. She watched in satisfaction as Ethen's body plummeted towards the ground, and it seemed no Hufflepuffs were willing - or able - to catch him, either. The two teams sat on their brooms in various states of surprise or satisfaction when it seemed Hufflepuff would move - and by extension, so would Dan.

'Shit,' Koko hissed, this time unable to stop herself. Her fingers gripped the shaft of her Silver Arrow as tightly as they could, and she cursed herself for being frozen in fear and being unable to catch Dan as he fell. That was what she was supposed to do, right? To be useful, she needed to catch him, but she couldn't make her broom move, couldn't make her muscles move. She could only sit there and watch as he fell.

It was certainly less satisfying than Ethen's fall had been. At least they were back to square one, Koko supposed, but she still felt a strange emptiness inside, as if she or some other Slytherin had been more intuitive and managed to catch him... But she wouldn't blame it on the others. No, they had all done their part. Deep down, they had all known that it was more important to get Ethen out of the sky, no matter the cost...

And here they were, the price paid in full.

She might be a pureblood, but having muggle friends helped introduce her to things other pureblood students might not have known. Right now, the image that popped in her head was one of a meme. A meme that no doubt many of the muggle-born or half-blood students would recognize. Surrounded by fire and smoke, a brown dog in a hat sat at a table with a coffee mug and says exactly what Tyranni was thinking. This is fine. But it most certainly was not fine. As a result of her blatch and subsequent penalty lap, this co-captain was not available to save her fellow captain and seeker of the team. Instead he fell to the ground, joined at least by some small miracle, Ethen.
