Days weren't usually so stressful for Sabrina, but the year was around two months from coming to a close, and she wasn't ready for that quite yet. Moving onto a new year stressed her out, almost as much as actually growing up did back in January. She wasn't ready to move on - what if all the friends she made this year didn't like her next year? Eris? Rhea? Anatole? Would they ever stop liking her like that? Somewhere deep inside of her, she knew they wouldn't, but it was hard to convince the rest of her that much.
So, Sabrina decided to do something she hadn't done all year. She ventured to the ballroom in the wee hours of the morning, her worn tap shoes tucked inside of her Gryffindor robes. She had already changed into her black pleated skirt and dress shirt with her Gryffindor tie, a pair of black socks rising up to right underneath her knees so that her shoes would be somewhat more comfortable. She ruined her Mary Janes while going after Eris in the Great Lake, and now she was stuck with wearing her pair of black Vans everywhere. She enjoyed them, they were comfortable, but she definitely wasn't used to wearing them with her uniform.
She slipped past the grand doors leading in to the ballroom, furrowing her eyebrows together and pursing her lips as her blue eyes scoped out the room, looking for any signs of a living being. If she wouldn't practice at Hogwarts in the first place, then she definitely didn't want to practice in front of an audience. The only reason she was going to dance was because she had all this feeling pent up in her chest, and she needed a way to get rid of it. So far, she hadn't been able to find one.
She took a seat at one of the tables, slipping off her Vans by holding down the heel one shoe and pulling her foot out. She didn't like to take the time to untie the shoes and take them off properly, even though she would just have to untie them later when she wanted to put them back on. She was more careful with her tap shoes though. These were her prized possession - she had been tapping since she was a toddler. It was something that came pretty naturally to her. She stood up, the sound of the metal on the bottoms of the shoes clicking against the floor making a smile pick away at her face.
She felt as though she had danced within the past eight months, even though she had done no more than running, or flying on a broom. She only ventured a small distance away from the table where she had left her shoes, as well as her Gryffindor robe. She looked down at her shoes as she walked, admiring the wrinkles in the leather. Her instructor always told her that the more wrinkles your shoes have, the more that means you practice. She liked to practice a lot, as it gave her wrinkly shoes. And the more wrinkles you have, the more experienced you are.
It only took her a few minutes to think up a totally random song from the top of her head. She didn't want to do any of her previous routines, she kind of just wanted to dance. So, she did. She slid and dug and furlapped until she was out of breath. Only then did she bend over, putting her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath.

& tomorrow you will be the sea.

Rosie was wandering around the castle, as usual. She was honestly trying to find something to do, but then she realized, whenever she got bored, she would dance! With a newfound idea, Rosie grinned and turned on her heel, skipping down to the Ballroom. It was an extraordinary room, really. It was a big space full of opportunity and adventure. It was also, one of her favorite places in the whole castle! Her and her best friend always went down there, but the room never got old. Not to Rosie. It seemed to get more beautiful every time she ventured down into the big space.
Tiny foot steps were heard as Rosie ran down the corridors, her long, brown curls falling down her back behind her. She had ditched the robe temporarily, sporting the white buttonup with the Hufflepuff crest, and a plaid, gold like skirt. Her dress shoes fit he feet now! They were a little big for her at first, but Rosie had gotten used to running in them by tying them up real tight.
As she entered the ballroom, she heard footsteps. Was someone already in there? Curious, Rosie poked her little head into the room and saw an unfamiliar girl dancing. It was... Graceful, smooth, Rosie never really met other dancers, this girl knew what she was doing. With a grin, she entered the room slowly and knocked on the wall to signal she was there. Rosie didn't wanna scare her, but it was inevitable, most likely. When you're in full concentration like that, the slightest noise can make you jump out of your skin.
At least, Rosie can say that from experience.
