Katrina's wand was still lying onto the floor, rolling around as the duellists kept moving along the platform. The Ravenclaw boys were determined to end this duel and secure their victory, as they decided to both cast the same spell.

However, Only Thomas' Flipendo sucesfully hit Katrina; the Gryffindor girl still seemed quite schoked y being left alone in the duel, and she just had the time to move out of the way of Pericles' Knockback Jinx before Thomas' one hit her on her shoulder. Lydia couldn't help but whince, knowing how much a Flipendo would hurt. If things continued like that, with the Ravenclaw team dealing damage over damage to the Gryffindor girl, then the Eagles would be able to secure their victory. But Katrina still had some chances of turning things around, nothing was set in stone yet.

Spectator Thread

Pericles' spell went wide, but Tom's struck, and the duellist uttered a quick "Well cast!" to the side. Concerning to him, however, was the fact that their opponent remained disarmed. Hesitating before the next round, glancing between Katrina and the rolling wand, he gently offered what could have easily been misinterpreted for snark: "It's alright to give up, Kat. If you're finished, you need only tell us!"

Katrina leapt into action, trying to snatch up her wand and return to the duel at hand. As her luck had shown, she was still unable to get said wand and was left defenseless yet again. She managed to dodge one spell but the other hit her square in the shoulder, she heard and uncomfortable noise that she hoped was just the spell hitting her and was thrown back. Come on come on!

Breathing out in a huff, Thomas accepted the comment from Pericles with an awkward smile and firm nod. In the Ravenclaw's eyes, success should simply be par for the course, not something to be celebrated, but of course, given the drawn-out nature of this duel, he couldn't expect what he typically could. Showing no signs of sympathy to Katrina for her plight, he simply prepared himself for the next cast.

"It's about time for this to be done," he noted quietly, mostly to himself.

Katrina Walker searches for her wand.

Something seemed to happen to Katrina, because as she looked for her wand, she finally relocated it once again, and quickly reached for it; the witch was again with her wand in her hand, the duel was not over yet.

Thomas and Pericles had other plans in mind though, because they both targeted Katrina; however, the girl had no intention of getting it again. Katrina quickly dodged out of the way of Thomas' Knockback Jinx, while she almost got hit by Pericles' Wind Jinx. The jolt of wind just barely caressed her hair as it flew past her, and Lydia couldn't help but admire Katrina for that; she was still trying with all of herself to win, and Lydia had the impression that she would not go down without a fight. This duel was by far one of the most engaging ones that Lydia had to moderate, it was true that Ravenclaw still had two duellists on the field, but Katrina seemed determined not to let the two boys win.

Spectator Thread

At last, Katrina collected her wand, making clear her decision to stay in the fight. Pericles appeared patient, almost approving, though he was equally ready to put an end to this as Tom. Both of their spells were evaded easily enough. He gave a grunt of disappointment. However, the miss wouldn't slow him, and his wand remained at the ready.

Victory was nearly within reach, it bothered Thomas that it seemed to evade them just as easily as Katrina evaded his spells. Surely, the Ravenclaw duo had this duel in the bag? He had never known a duel to turn on its head quick enough for Katrina to see triumph, though he supposed he could empathize with the lion’s stubbornness. Certainly, he wouldn’t dream of giving up in her shoes.

Choosing to abstain from some quirky comment or witty taunt, Tom’s focus sharpened. If he actually wanted to see Katrina out, he would have to be sure to give the fourth year his undivided attention. Thomas had won duels against older opponents before—this would be no different than the last time he had older Gryffindors across the piste from him.

Katrina stooped down and grabbed her wand, rubbing at her now very sore shoulder as she righted herself on the stage. Both opposing spells missed their mark and Katrina counted herself very very lucky. She didn’t exactly have too much luck on her side thus far but was very determined to turn this around.

“That all you got?” Katrina said with a taunting grin. Obviously, teasing her opponents wasn’t the best or the smartest move but it sure felt good. Besides there was the tiniest chance it may throw them off and gain her a few more seconds.

As Lydia thought that the Ravenclaw team might have been close to win, fate seemed to think otherwise, as it clearly turned into Katrina's favour.

Pericles cast another wind jinx, and Lydia was so sure that it would have hit Katrina, but the girl proved once again how quick she was and dodged out of the way, her hair slightly moved by the breeze. If things weren't looking too good for Pericles up until that point, the situation would only get worse as Thomas cast his Knockback jinx: he was probably concentrating so much into casting the spell that his aim suffered from it, because the Jinx flew right for Pericles instead of Katrina. Luckily for the boys, Pericles was quick enough to move out of the way and not get hurt.

While all of that was happening, Katrina took her chance to cast a Reparifors on herself, healing some of the injuries she had sustained until now. This would definitely delay the end of the duel for a while, and who knows, maybe even help the girl secure the victory for the Gryffindor team.

Spectator Thread

It was the second time throughout the duration of this duel that Thomas so critically missed, at least Pericles was plenty nimble. The boy was enraged, furious at the notion that their duel was not yet finished, his ire bolstered by the fact that Katrina was keeping herself up with healing rather than fighting back. There had been nothing personal in his argument with the Gryffindor's partner, but he was remarkably frustrated by the older girl's antics in this moment. Without an ounce of shame for his mistake, without so much as an apologetic glance towards Pericles, he glared at his opponent as she seemed to grow more lively with her Reparifors.

"Are you kidding me!? Give up already!" Once again, the irony of the situation was completely lost on Thomas. In Katrina's shoes, he would never even fathom surrender. Besides, really, it was her fault that he had so many unfortunate failures. If the duel had ended sooner, the Ravenclaw would not have been losing focus toward the end.
