Judging from the previous round, one would have said that Gryffindor was close to winning the duel, with both of their opponents already wounded, while the two lions still stayed strong, unharmed. This round however, while Lamik and Everly were still unharmed, it seemed like the tide of the duel was turning more towards a middle ground.

Everly had managed to cast her spell this round, the Knockback Jinx flying fast towards Hanako, that however easily and swiftly avoided the spell; the boy seemed ready to avoid harm at any cost, his feet fast as he moved to the side. This brought him closer to Ileen, who took her chance and healed her duelling partner, making sure that he would still be on the field for a little while.

Lamik concentrated on Ileen this time, and directed his wand towards her; his Incendio Duo was perfectly cast, and the fire flew across the platform and hit the Slytherin girl. Lydia couldn't help but frown a little, knowing how much that would hurt, and from the looks of the flames, Ileen would have been aflame for quite a while.

Once again the lightning spared the two Gryffindor duellists, the stormy cloud ready to strike at any time.

It seemed like standing still and looking cute only worked on one of the lions. Just as the fire stopped burning the surface of his skin, Lamlam (Everly) attempted to regain Hana’s attention with a flipendo. However, as he chose to stand still and look pretty, he could see the spell good enough to evade it. Wow- that was a first. Ah, the powers of being distractingly beautiful. “ Awh, don’t need to purposely miss for me, Lamik. I know I’m cute, but c’mon this is a duel~” he commented gleefully (now that he wasn’t in much pain) to Everly, whose name is certainly not Lamik. But this is not information Hanako knows.

Just as he did so, he felt a refreshing sense that washed over him. At first, he thought it was the cockiness that was really getting into his head. Alas, to his side, Ileen had her wand pointed at him and his empty grin fell. She..helped him? Well, no duh, it was a duel, she’ll be at a great disadvantage if he was gone. But it was the first time he was healed by a teammate, and he found it hard to talk once more. He did look like he was searching for the right words to say to Knight. ‘Thank you’ , or ‘ Aw, I knew you liked me’, or ‘ Why though???’. But none of them managed to be verbally expressed because now Ileen was pretty much on fire. Hanako was unsure if it was a blessing or a curse.

He turned towards Evie (Lamik) with an annoyed look.” Hello? She’s already taken, you know. If you want to give attention to someone, it should be me~. I’m far more available to receive attention from cuties like you~” of course, he knew by now ‘attention’ meant ‘flaming hot incendio duos’ from Evie (Lamik), so he wasn’t looking forward to receiving any attention from him, however charming he may be.

But Ileen being on fire was not a lovely sight to see. He knew she was a better aimer compared to him, and yet she chose to use it on him instead of targeting the lions. That didn’t sit right with Hanako. If you were going to be on fire, at least don’t let him be thankful for your earlier healing.

Her next action was not even a choice. Ileen had been a healer all along, now she could finally follow that urge. Her wand pointed at Hanako, the words flew from her lips and sent the healing power in his direction.
Their gaze met for a second and for a second she wanted to give him a smirk. Yeah, that’s right. She was always here to save his ass, right? But if she was completely honest, that was not the only reason. She didn’t just cast the spell to give them an advantage in this duel. No. She did it because she wanted to end his pain. So, the smirk ended up to be an encouraging smile instead. Darn it.
And the punishment for that sentimental moment came quicker than she had thought. Everly had aimed well and suddenly the robe of the poor Slytherin girl was on fire. The biting pain made her tear up and she flinched. Biting her lip she barely managed to suppress a painful moan- No way she would give in. With a hissed curse she wiped over her face instead.

As the lightning seemed to spare the two Gryffindor duellists, Hanako and Ileen tried their best to fight back and try to turn the tide of the duel around. Hanako, seeing how his duelling partner was aflame, decided to help her and cast his extinguishing charm; this way Ileen didn't sustain further damage, and instead she aimed her wand towards Everly, casting an Incendio duo herself. The flames easily caught onto the robes of the second year, dealing quite some damage, even though it didn't look like the flames would stay there for long.

Everly and Lamik were on the same page as they both chose the same spell and target for this round; despite being aflame, the young Gryffindor girl aimed her wand towards Hanako, and the Knockback jinx flew right towards him, but the boy had absolutely no intention of being hit, and dodged out of the way. The same thing happened with Lamik's Flipendo, even if this time he got extremely close to hitting the Slytherin boy; but Hanako proved once again his quick feet and avoided the jinx just in time, if he would have moved a second too late, or a couple of centimetres more to the right, the spell would have definitely hit him.

Still in pain Ileen bit her lower lip and tried to aim for her opponent despite the tears burning in her eyes and blurring her vision. How could she hit anything like that? Of course, she could have taken out the flames but she needed to hit the Gryffindors if they wanted to turn this around and if she had to suffer then she would willingly pay that price.
But suddenly she felt a cool and relieving mist covering her body and taking out the hungry flames.
A short expression of surprise rushed over her face. The young Slytherin girl turned her head and looked at her partner who had returned the favor and released her from the pain.
There was no time for words. Every second was precious and needed but the young boy would see a soft gratefulness in her dark brown eyes, a look that never had been cast in his direction before.
Summoning her energy, she aimed for the younger girl in the team. Her vision was clear now - she was ready to go.
The flames hit the girl and set her robe on fire. Finally! It was the first time they had actually hit their opponents. Much needed.
Although she had casted the spell she knew it had been a team effort. Without Hanako, she would not have been able to aim properly.

Talking about her sassy dueling partner. The boy was once more in the focus but he dodged both attacks. It was still a bit early to pop the champagne, but the first hit felt like a turning point. Full of cautious euphoria and wild passion, she beamed at Hanako. "We hit!" Yes, she deliberately used the word 'we'. "Now it's our turn, we're turning the tables now!"
She was far too in the moment to marvel at how connected she felt to her favorite bickering partner.

“You know, I’m Lamik, right?”

The duelist was too stunned to speak. Since when had he- but then he- so then-. If Ileen wasn’t currently burning, he would’ve demanded why he was not informed of this little detail. But as that was not the case, he could simply stand there with confusion written all over him. What would he do with his nicknames now? They were specifically tailored to be similar to the Lamik and Everly he imagined in his head. He was so used to them now, was it worth changing just because he was wrong? That is, i f he was wrong.

He grinned at Everly/Lamik (Lamik), “ Well, I like my nicknames better Evie, or Lammy, or whoever you are” that dialog sounded cooler in his head, but you can’t take back what was said.

“Do you ever shut up?” said the other lion, looking very much done with his rambling. Which was a sight was- dare he say it - nicer to look at compared to when she was evading his spells with ease.

“ And let you miss my enchanting voice? Hahah, please I have one too many people dreaming about me already when they miss me too much. Isn’t that right, Knight? Oh-” Right, she was still on fire.

Being a healer wasn’t on Hana’s usual list of ‘Things I Want To Be When I Grow Up’. Other people’s problems were a ‘sounds like a you problem, not a me problem’, sort of thing for him. But perhaps it was how Ileen healed him, or the lack of regret her face had after she did, that pushed him to make that choice in easing what should’ve been a lot of ongoing pain for her. ‘Nothing changed though, she’s still the annoying best friend stealer’, he told himself, unable to look as annoyed as he liked to be. Whatever he thought, Ileen’s grateful look made him silent in response. Disliking how he couldn’t find the perfect sarcastic comment to fire back, he tore his attention away from her and focused on the lions instead.

To avoid looking like a psychopath, he tried his best not to look happy when [Everly] Lammy had her clothes on fire. She’ll be fine, the flames didn’t look as powerful as the flames that priorly engulfed Knight.

Perhaps [Everly] Lammy saw his minor smile because the next thing he knew he was popular again and had 2 wands directed towards him. Well, at least [Lamik] Evie listened to his advice on focusing on him instead of Knight. Perhaps they could still be lovers after this.

Part of him found it hard to believe the next few seconds happened. But his slow brain eventually did process that:

1) he felt no pain
2) he was not on fire
3) :0

After the shock wore off, he was convinced that he had never felt genuinely hotter in his life than now. Someone better whistle at him because he was this close to doing it himself. [im half jk]

It wasn't until Ileen said something that he managed to get his head out of the clouds.

'We', she said. Did she say is wrong? Should he remind her who actually made their first hit? They haven't said 'we' before. Between them, they always used ' I ', or ' You'. They may be partners for dueling but they weren't p a r t n e r s. They stay here, they do their best, and they hope for the best. If one of them gets good fortune, they had bragging rights- they didn't share. At least, not them.

Hanako was too weirded out by her choice of words that he responded with nothing but a confused look. " We...?" he muttered under his breath like he was not used to saying it.
