Wandering the Halls
Kyden loved wandering the halls of the castle in his free time. Truthfully since he had been at Hogwarts he had only been outside when it was needed. He maybe had been outside a handful of time. Crazy as it seemed to most, he just had so much fun inside the castle he saw no need to go outside.
He walked down the hall now looking at all the pictures. There was thousands of them, maybe even millions. He loved watching the pictures move. It amazed him even more when he saw blank frames as one of the people in the pictures had left to go visit another picture. Kyden felt like he could spend forever inside the castle and still not see everything.
He stopped for a second just to admire all the pictures once again. He wondered who all the people were. Of course some of them he knew. Obvious people like Harry Potter or Albus Dumbledore, but then there were some people he had no clue who they were.
The hall was awfully quite today. That was when Kyden remember most everybody was outside. It was a beautiful day the sun was shining and it was just the right temperature out. But of course Kyden chose to be inside roaming the halls and just exploring. He had reached the end of the hall, and went to turn down another all when he walked right into a girl. By the color of her robes he could tell she was a Hufflepuff. "Oh man I am so sorry." He reached a hand out to help her up.

Wandering the Halls
Of course, it was a perfect and warm day outside and naturally the students were out having fun and mingling. But not Kiara, she wanted to stay inside and do some more exploring. She was only a first year and she only saw a part of the school.
She admired all the moving pictures and even waved to some of them. She let out a contempt sigh enjoying the peace and quiet she finally had. She did miss home but Hogwarts was her new home, it gave her an amazing experience, she met many friends, and she's in love with all her classes.
She was turning a corner when she was knocked down onto the floor. Kiara looked up while fixing her long brown hair when she finally caught the eye of who she bumped into. He was unfamiliar to her but she knew he was a Slytherin by the color of his robes.
"I apologize, I should've been paying attention. I didn't think anyone else was here with me." She grabbed his hand that he was holding out and she stood up. She looked down at her shoes too embarrassed to say anything else, she hated being so clumsy.

Kyden was taken aback when he walked into the girl. He thought for a second maybe he had walked into a wall. Of course in a castle like Hogwarts where things always seemed to change it was very possible. He stuck his hand out and helped her up.
"Don't be sorry it was my fault. I clearly wasn't paying attention to. I guess I figured I would be the only one that would rather be inside on a day like this. Anyways I am Kyden Goodlow and you would be?"
He looked the Hufflepuff girl up and down waiting for her answer. He didn't think he had seen her around at all but then again he had seen so many people in passing he was likely to forget one he hadn't talked to. However she had a slight air of familiarity about her. He stared at her for a bit before realizing that he was staying and he looked away to the pictures.
"These pictures are pretty amazing aren't they? I have been around moving pictures all my life and it still shocks me and keeps me in awe. I don't think I will ever get used to the way us wizards live." He chuckled softly.

"I guess we both weren't paying attention." Kiara looks at the boy whose name she learned was Kyden. "I'm Kiara, Kiara Caldwell. First-year Hufflepuff." She smoothed out her robes and smiled at the boy.
"The pictures are amazing if I do say so myself." She looked at the pictures with an amazed look on her face. She didn't know how long she could get used to it. The pictures here in the castle did give the saying about how pictures are worth more than words, an actual meaning.
She looked over at Kyden and noticed how he shared the same expression she held. She loved how the paintings could mesmerize anyone that looked at them for a split second. "These halls are magnificent. Never in my life would I have thought to be here." She said as she was walking down the hall slowly while guiding her finger on the wall.
"I've never really talked to a Slytherin till now. You're nicer than most." She shivered at the thought of a bad experience she had with a couple of Slytherins in her Charms class. "We could be friends ya know? Tell people about how we first met, you practically tackled me." She giggled playfully.

Kyden sighed when he heard Kiara say that. "Yeah I seam to get that a lot. I am also smaller than most." He laughed softly. It was true he was a very small boy. Kiara was slightly taller than him. He looked at her for a minute."I've never really talked to a Slytherin till now. You're nicer than most."
"Well honestly the pictures aren't the most spectacular thing I have found inside this castle." He didn't want to come right out and say it but he had actually find quite a few secret passageways. Kyden however had only shown about 5 people the entrances to some of them. He still had a few he was keeping to himself. After all you never knew where a person's loyalty lies.
"So aside from running into strange Slytherins what did you have planned for the day. What with everyone outside we practically have this whole huge castle to ourselves. Of course save from a few professors."
He looked around the hallway they stood in and smiled. He had come here to see if he could find a secret passage in this hall. However hadn't got sidetracked what with all the amazing pictures. Now the problem was he didn't want to start searching right in front of this Hufflepuff. Even if he had almost knocked her out.
