Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3
Blue in English, Red in KoreanThrough the haze of her suffering, Eun-ji caught her opponent apologizing. She would have commended his good sportsmanship and basic human decency but she was too busy fighting the pain as well as looking for her wand. Did she desperately want to end this? Sure. However there was not much she could do without her wand. That was her first goal, she could think of the next step later.
The witch swiftly ducked and searched for her wooden companion, hoping she would be spared any new hits for at least one round. After all, the boy did say he was sorry. Well…apparently not that much. Just as a little bit of hope flickered in her eyes upon finding her wand, Eun-ji was hit with yet another spell…and not just any spell either but exactly the same one Julian just apologized for. "위선자./Wiseonja." Hypocrite The Ravenclaw hissed in pain. Burning sensation hitting her once more in full force. It was a pain like no other. Sure, she had twisted ankles and broken bones before but burning flesh was simply not something you experienced in your normal everyday life. "Keep your apologies then," she said finally, sounding oddly calm, given her current predicament. It was only through her sheer stubbornness and training that she managed to remain so collected. I can have a melt down later. She did not cry in front of her family let alone a crowd of strangers and she would not get furious over a spell that was used in almost every duel. Julian wanted to win the match and considering how well things have been going for Eun-ji, it was a good strategy to focus on her. So no, she was not bitter about any of that. It was the apology that irked her. She did not like empty words. The Hunts were always so full of them.
"Sorry, I guess I just didn't want to be outshined by you." She smiled at Dee. Unfortunately, it was a mix of smile and agony and so it probably wasn't as reassuring as she hoped it would be. Eun-ji did feel genuinely sorry though. She didn't want the captain to carry her to victory. She wanted to help and she was truly doing her best. It was just not her day…obviously. Well at least she gave Flash a show to remember. Hopefully, she would never ever see him again. Could she get her hands on an invisibility cloak and wear it to her Divination classes or would that count as unexcused absence?

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3

Dee hummed in satisfaction as her wind jinx, too, hit its target. That made four out of four - she really was on a roll today. If Eun-ji had her wand back, perhaps the two of them could wrap this up more quickly than expected.
Eun-ji, however, was again on fire. Dee wasn't sure if it was Julian's remarkably good aim or Eun-ji's lack of evasion skills, but the girl was starting to look rather battered as well, between burn holes and soot stains. She was still joking, though, and Dee grinned a quick, more genuine grin back at her. "Brighter is debatable, but you're definitely hotter than me," she replied. "Although I assume you'd prefer if you weren't. Maybe we should change that? Or would you rather pay him back?"

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3

It was with a small resigned sigh that Julian fell back into his casting stance and raised his wand to cast the same spell for a fourth time in a row. It didn't occur to him, until Eun-Ji told him, in a tone that made him wince, to keep his apologies, that his earlier apology might've implied he was going to stop attempting to set her on fire. That was not the case. Incendio Duo was one of the more effective spells in his arsenal, and if he wanted to keep himself from being knocked out and have a chance at winning the duel, he was going to have to use his more effective tools. Surely, Eun-Ji would do the same thing in his situation.
That did not mean, however, that he liked it, or was happy about having to cause her pain, or that her rebuke didn't warm his cheeks with the telltale pink of embarrassment. He couldn't immediately explain, however, as he was caught in a gust of wind coming from Dealla's wand, and he had to fight to keep his balance.
"But I am sorry," he muttered, gaze cast down, once he was certain he wasn't about to topple over. "I wish fire spells weren't even allowed." Really, he was almost regretting signing up for duelling in the first place. If it wasn't for the vivid memory of the monster that had invaded the Hufflepuff common room at the start of the year, and of the feeling of utter helplessness as he realised none of his spells stood a chance at keeping him back and away from his classmates, he probably would've quit after being set on fire himself during his first duel. Not to mention, he couldn't bear to disappoint Jake by simply quitting the sport he was captain of.
Still, he probably could stand to research what other spells he could be casting that would be just as effective. Maybe he should ask Jake about third year spells he should be trying to practice on his own, even if they hadn't covered them in classes yet.

Even when flames were eating at Eun-ji's clothes and surely singing her skin, the Ravenclaw duelist still chose to coordinate a double attack with Dealla against the sole survivor of Hufflepuff.
However, after quite a successful streak of spellcasting, Lady Luck finally lost a bit of patience for the two Ravens. Not only did Dealla almost accidentally hit her ally instead of her intended target with a Disarming Charm, Eun-ji's own Incendio Duo swerved widely to the side of the piste.
Julian, for the most part, did his job quite wonderfully by weaving wildly side-to-side. Dmitri thought that might be why Prince and Hunt had a lot of trouble locking onto his position.
The Slytherin captain thought that maybe the boy might just stand a small chance of getting out of the duel mildly unscathed.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3

Ah, and just when things had been going so well. Eager to finish this, Dee decided to remain on offense, aiming for Julian once more. Disarming him would also keep him from setting Eun-ji on fire again, which would likely be a good idea, a third time would be rather annoying. The spell came out just fine, but then, suddenly, she seemed to lose control of it, and instead of targeting Julian, it veered off to the side, coming closer to hitting Eun-ji than the Hufflepuff. Dee winced, then scowled. That hadn't happened to her before, and what a terrible time to start with it. "Sorry," she grumbled, a mixture of annoyance and abashment in her voice. "But hey, nicely dodged."

Julian looked embarrassed upon hearing her words but it meant close to nothing, considering how often he actually cast the spell. It was lucky he missed the first two times. Being on fire twice was plenty for one day, thank you very much. She also didn’t doubt, he would attempt to do so again. Eun-ji was so ready for this to be over. That being said, she still felt bad as she raised her wand to return the favour. Not enough to stop her but she genuinely did. The Ravenclaw also wasn’t a fan of fire spells and she was hesitant to use them so far but she supposed being aflame for two rounds justified her next action.
The fire would leave her wand successfully however, Julian’s perfect dodge paired with her own teammate’s spell gone rogue, caused her to loose concentration towards the end. She watched the flame swerve to the side of the piste, once again disappointed by her poor performance. Eun-ji wasn’t angry with Dee however. This was her first mishap during the duel and she didn’t do it on purpose. “Thanks…Sure wish I mastered it a bit sooner though.” She replied to her captain, accepting the apology without hesitation. Eun-ji on the other hand, would not say sorry to her opponent. She would not do so even if she hit him. Not because she wanted to cause him harm but because she chose that particular action fully aware of the consequences. Unlike the Hufflepuff, the witch felt like she lost the right to seek forgiveness the moment the incantation left her lips. Clearly, their views differed when it came to apologies but that was okay. People weren’t the same, she was well aware of that and it was not important now.

Perhaps Julian shouldn't have been so keen to convince Eun-Ji his apology had been sincere. The conversation had proven distracting and he didn't even get to fall back into his stance before both Ravenclaw girls starting casting again. He managed to dodge Eun-Ji's spell (much to his relief; though he didn't begrudge her the choice of spell, he certainly did not want to be on fire again), but it came at the cost of casting his own spell. It also came at the cost of realising what had happened that had Dealla apologising.
He could guess, though, his first duel having been riddled with spells going everywhere except where they had been intended to be cast.

Alright. Maybe it was too optimistic of Dmitri to think that this duel was going to be different from all the other dull duels he has presided over. He didn't want to admit it to himself, but it had gotten old some several spells ago.
From the Ravenclaw side, both Dealla and Eun-ji decided it was prudent to fix a few of the latter's injuries that she suffered from multiple burns. A flurry of healing would fill the girl up with a refreshing, alleviating feeling as she would watch some of her angry red marks fade into a pale pink.
Julian, for the most part, decided to do what he did best and continue with the barrage of fire at the poor younger Ravenclaw duelist. Unfortunately, though reasonably powerful, it failed to land.
It has now come to the moment where Dmitri is starting to wish the duel was over; what seemed to have been a quick match has devolved into a game of stalling.
Merlin, help me.

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3

After her last spell had gone awry, Dee took a deep breath, trying to re-focus. There was no need to get so focused on her attacks that she lost track of the big picture. A quick assessment of the situation told her that they still had the upper hand: They were two against one, and Julian had already taken a hit, although he seemed still in good shape. On the other hand, Eun-ji wasn't looking too hot at the moment (pun intended), so Dee gave her a quick glance. "Need a boost?" she asked.
When her partner agreed, Dee turned to point her wand at Eun-ji. "Reparifors!" she said, then nodded appreciatively when the girl healed herself as well, and then dodged Julian's attack on top of it.
"Alright, looking better," she commented, and turned back to grin at Julian. "Maybe you could try a different spell for once," she suggested. "Some variety, you're getting boring."

Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw: Match 3
Eun-ji wasn’t doing well. The rough start was anything but encouraging and the burns she received in the previous two rounds certainly weren’t helping. She was pushing herself to end this but she wasn’t stupid...her body was screaming for help. The red burn marks constantly rubbed against the fabric of her clothes, reminding her that she was not fit to continue like this for much longer. It was painful and it took a toll on her concentration as well. You should always take care of yourself first. The Ravenclaw remembered her father’s words. He was right, she should definitely do that. “Need a boost?” It appeared her teammate had the very same idea. “Yes, I think so.” She nodded in agreement before casting her own healing spell.
A wave of relief washed over her body as the two Reparifors worked on her injuries. Perhaps her mother was right and she would make a good healer. After all, she had yet to fail a healing spell. Eun-ji shuddered upon hearing Julian's incantation. Was her effort going to be wasted? Thankfully, it appeared she was lucky and for once, the flames actually didn’t reach her. “Much better. Thank you.” She smiled at her Captain. She could only hope it would help her in her future endeavours. “Some variety, you're getting boring.” The raven-haired witch huffed in amusement. The teasing was well deserved in her opinion. Did the Hufflepuff even know any other spells? How was she supposed to believe his remorse if he was so hell bent on setting her on fire? “Something cold might do me good...water is acceptable too.”
