Baby, I'm Sorry (Not Sorry) PV Finished

"Get out."
Ami sat up, raising an eyebrow. She sighed, and stood up, grabbing the basket and her bag. With a subtle glance at the clock, it confirmed that her twenty minutes were up, anyways. She didn't look at Dorian- not at the look of hatred and disgust and pity that she knew would be there. She didn't look at his chocolate stained face as she straightened out her robes, not at his hands that were inevitably trembling, even if he didn't realize it.
"Get. Out."
This time, it was louder, more forceful. Ami rolled her eyes dramatically. "What do you think I'm doing, Mr. Gray?" She waved her wand towards the ceiling, recalling the floating light back to her wand, the light popping in an explosion of sparks as it bumped the tip. She could feel the tip of his wand pointed at her, the way you knew that someone was staring at you, even if they were in the next subway car over. She reached into her pocket, pulling out a quarter. "Vale, Mr. Gray," she called, flicking the quarter backward at him with her thumbnail as she strode towards the door. "I'd be lying if I said it was a pleasure to meet you."

Baby, I'm Sorry (Not Sorry) PV Finished
Dorian watched her leave the way she had come; through the only door in and out of the sizable medical room. He stood frozen in place for a minute longer, a minute riddled with confusion and disappointment at the way their meeting had turned out. For one, he was beside himself with doubt in his own ability to defend himself considering he had allowed her to get the upper hand on him. Doubt was a rare experience for him, as he had always been confident in his own ability to control a given situation in his favor. Had he erred in believing that he was more than he actually was?

Letting his hand fall limply to his side, he took the few steps that brought him to the very foot of his bed, looking through the sheets with a glazed expression on his face. He found that he was lost in his thoughts, thinking about all the things that the girl had said and asked. Despite his averse reaction to all that was said near the end, he couldn't help but think about it. The reason he reacted so strongly was because his father had been a criminal that had spent years locked away in Azkaban, the infamous prison for the most dangerous of criminals. He knew of this; having heard whispers and the sort as he grew older, but he never seemed to be able to learn the reason why. All he had been able to surmise was that his father must have done something so terrible in the past to land himself in such a place. And the only thing that could even remotely be seen as being that drastic was murder.

Ami's question had reached deep into a place that he liked to keep locked away, triggering such feelings that were a force all their own. He preferred to keep these feelings buried so as not to reveal too much about himself or his family for fear that his father's history might cause problems for the people he loved. He hadn't personally killed anyone, but Ami's asking of the question had given him flashbacks to those nights he spent wide awake wondering what kind of person his kind, loving father truly was. With a sigh like the burden of the entire world was on his shoulders, he crawled onto the bed and promptly fell into a deep sleep. He did not dream.
