Stained History PV Eun-ji Finished

With optimism regained by Eun-ji's composure, Flash's readings would start with her monotone reassurance. She did not explain why the bed was appropriate, but Flash did not intend to pry, moving on. The second was not so obvious, with her giving a conflicted response. Everyone has secrets, yet she wasn't sure how it related to her question. Flash would nod thoughtfully, adding, "Perhaps we've done something wrong..." though he wouldn't extrapolate, merely move forward.

Flash's heart fell when Eun-ji confirmed his worries, herself not looking pleased at the day's turn of events. She wondered again about the veracity of the answers, as Flash nodded along, intending to throw Divination as a subject under the bus. Instead, Eun-ji started to explain from the beginning. When she started with 'her grandparents', he leaned in, knowing they had indeed been a topic they were discussing, but when she said 'had an accident,' he leaned back again, his brow knotting again in scrutiny.

She explained the circumstances, looking less withdrawn and miserable and more vacant and resigned. It seemed her question wasn't to do with family in general, but her relationship with the grandfather who had forgotten her. Flash's eyes would stare at the floor, trying to recall each step and how it could connect, and yet his mind kept getting drawn back to the way Eun-ji had talked about her family. He had discovered why celebrating those holidays was of no use anymore.

"I see. Right, I'm not sure what an attack has to do with your grandfather remembering you." Flash would continue, looking a bit distracted as he did so. "Maybe it's not meant to be taken literally, maybe it is just meant to signify conflict, or something unexpected. After all, these are meant to be interpreted, it's not like it's a vision."

It would be clear with a signal from the professor that class time was over, to which Flash would quickly look at the watch on his wrist. He would have liked to have had tea with Eun-ji every day, though perhaps sparing themselves the needless drama of reading the future. Even though that would be on the surface of his thoughts, deeper he would know that he was grateful for being given insight into Eun-ji's life. She was so often proper and perfect, it was interesting to see what layers lay underneath. As he jotted down a few more lines on the parchment for their homework assignment, he began to gather his belongings along with the bustle of the rest of the class.

"Well, it's certainly been enlightening either way. Perhaps the concentration was off as well. We were talking a great deal, after all." Flash continued to elucidate the many excuses he could muster for a misreading, not in any hurry to accept that Eun-ji or her loved ones were in danger. "Next time, let's just enjoy a cup of tea together and forget the leaves at the bottom."

Her story was not a happy one and it was clear Flash had been struggling a bit thorough her explanation. It was to be expected however. After all, she was always so calm and only talked about the normal or happy times with her family. One probably wouldn’t have guessed all that was happening in the background. Still, the boy did try to make her feel better about this peculiar reading and she was truly grateful for that. Perhaps he was right...perhaps the symbols weren't meant to be interpreted so literary. "I hope so. Either way, I suppose it doesn't make sense to worry about it now." There was not much she could do at this point especially since she didn't even know what said it even referred to. "In any case, thank you for listening." Eun-ji said with a smile. It was not a happy one but it was sincere.

The whole class was honestly quite draining so for once, the Ravenclaw wasn't too sorry to see it end. Strangely enough, as much as she wasn't used to talking about her hardships, there was no lingering feeling of regret. Somehow, it was easy to talk to the Slytherin about all that miserable stuff and she was happy he allowed her to get to know him better as well. She also hoped they would get to talk more in the future. I am sure we will... The girl reassured herself as she neatly placed her things into her bag and tidied up their desk. ...at least in this cursed place. Reasonably, after today, she was not the biggest fan of Divination. Her deskmate was easily the best part of the classes. In fact, he may have been one of the best parts of this school year.

"Auspicious tea sounds like a lovely idea." Eun-ji nodded, this time with more relaxed smile. "Although I could make it ominous for you by bringing Mordred with me." She teased her friend in attempt to lighten up the mood. It was never good to hold onto the bad news for too long. She would not say anything else until they were both all packed up. "Don't worry...I'm just messing with you. Although he tends to follow me almost everywhere so unless you are tired of me already, you might have to meet him eventually." She added, patting his shoulder encouragingly. They would be okay. This, she firmly believed. If they didn't become friends, the mutual ignoring each other could be arranged. Mordred was very good at ignoring people. "Good work today, I'll see you next time then." Eun-ji waved at the boy with a smile before rushing off to her next class. She couldn't be late. Being late for class was simply unacceptable in her world.
