Apparently Dee had misjudged the Vipers' change in strategy, and they had only made use of the fog to provide Henry some relief. With the obstruction of sight gone, they turned their wand back on the Gryffindors: Sylvie this time.

Bridget sent a hex at the younger girl that Dee had not yet seen in use, the bat bogey hex, which was especially nasty for opponents currently suffering from a cold like Sylvie did. But Sylvie seemed to have expected an attack and ducked out of the way easily - sadly right into the path of Henry's well-aimed wind jinx. The wind sent her staggering. At least she would also be able to feel the cold finally wear off.

With her focus on dodging, it was no surprise that Sylvie's knockback jinx did not come close to hitting Henry, but Elsa made up for this with a jet of green flames that hit Henry's right leg, leaving him with a sizeable flame eating away at his clothes.

Bridget rarely used the advanced DADA spells she taught herself in actual duels. She worked toward mastery, but the fact remained older year spells were just harder to cast. In considering the risks and rewards, the potential she'd be trying for too much in a pressure situation typically weighed heavier than the power the spells held. This time, though, she saw an opportunity. It was perfect as a follow-up to the Curse of the Bogies, and probably equally gross, but now that she'd thought of it, she wanted to try. See if she could do it, observe how it worked.

"Vespertilifors" was a mouthful of an incantation, but dialed in as she was and with no wands pointed at her to force a quicker cast, it actually went quite well. It was a little disappointing for Sylvie to pull out a swift dodge to avoid the altogether strong attempt. That was just duelling. And Henry had landed a Ventus; so long they weren't missing everything, it was okay. "Nice hit."

Unlike the awkward moment where they'd cast nothing while she was blindfolded, the Gryffindors were on a full offensive. Their target was Henry, and he was on fire again. And again, she grimaced seeing it. Having seen and experienced it so many times, it had lost any sense of being something horrifying. That didn't mean she enjoyed seeing anyone aflame, and she hated seeing all the attacks go at her teammate. She'd taken, what, a Curse of the Bogies and a blindfold? He seemed to be doing okay, at least. "Just a little longer."

"These bogies are getting on my nerves," Sylvie muttered. "You doing okay?" She gave a pat on the back to her dueling partner, making sure not to hit any sore spots that might have arisen during their uphill battle for house-glory. "Just keep hanging on for now." It would be over soon, and win or lose, at least this was a learning experience.

The duel was almost over, the duellists would only have time to cast another spell or two. Most of them did - or tried.

Elsa, perhaps feeling the pressure, tried to cast the stronger version of the fire making spell, but fumbled her attempt, the fire only sputtering before it went out. Sylvie was the only duellist on the stage who did not choose to cast - perhaps expecting a double attack from both Slytherins, the Gryffindor decided to focus on evading. Successfully so, for she easily spun out of the way of the knockback jinx that Bridget had aimed at her, but while Henry had raised his wand, it was not targeting their opponents. Instead, the boy chose to play it safe, and extinguished the green flames that ate away at his robes.

Surprisingly, this was not all that happened. The storm clouds had been grumbling overhead for so long that Dee had almost forgotten about them, until they now finally struck, sending a bolt of lightning at Bridget that was too fast to avoid. Dee whistled quietly. The storm that Sylvie had conjured really was not to be trifled with. Still... she doubted it would be enough to turn the tide for the lions.

Meanwhile, the time kept ticking down.

Another attempt at a Knockback Jinx, another miss. She supposed there was benefit in the fact Sylvie didn't feel able to cast anything, that being one less thing to worry about, but Bridget had been missing much more than she would have liked to. It seemed no matter how much she tried, her hit percentage didn't improve very significantly, and how much better of a position would they be in if she'd landed her last few spells? At least Henry wasn't on fire anymore, she fully approved of his decision to put himself out...

With a crack, the cloud above them finally ended its ominous, but harmless, rumbling, deciding it was done being all bark and no bite. She did not see it coming--she did not have eyes on the top of her head--and even if she had, the bolt was faster than her. Muscles tensing, the shock certainly a fair bit more painful than commonplace static discharge. Was this what her blundered Umbrella Spell had felt like for Jack? Hopefully not too much worse. It was over quickly, at least, and while the ache lingered, it was nothing she couldn't clench her teeth and move forward from.

The duel would be over any moment now, her head chiming a countdown. They were so close, and yet this was perhaps the most stressful moment of all. Just a little longer to hold onto their lead, to hopefully end on a high note. "Of course," she answered Henry, sounding the confident captain, though she didn't feel quite that assured. Running the scenarios in her head, it seemed like they might have it, but until then she would be holding her breath.

At the sight of the rumbling cloud she'd casted overhead the Slytherins, a tiny smile quirked on Sylvie's lips. The lightning was a welcome sight, of course. Though, it was a ticking timebomb that had ticked for too long, and the 3rd year knew that well. Never the matter, she was glad it went off regardless.

It was a fun-ish duel, despite their current losing.
