Visiting the Library
Daniella was walking along the shelves of the library. Even though she had walked this path before, she was surprised at the large amount of books.
In the short period between Daniella's arrival at Hogwarts and now, she could be found in the library most of the time. She enjoyed wandering around and occasionally flipping the pages of old books. It reminded her of the stories that her father used to tell her, about when he was a teenager. Daniella always smiled when she thought of that.
As the girl was looking at the shelves, one book in particular stood out to her. It was as if she had seen it before. Curious as she was, Daniella grabbed the book, and immediately recognized the cover. It was 'Hogwarts, A History' by Garius Tomkink, a book that she also had a copy of. Daniella was about to put the book back in place, when she realized that she had never actually taken a look at that book, while she would love to get to know more about Hogwarts. After all, this was where she was going to spend the next seven years of her life. The girl sat down at an empty table in the back, and started to read. It was fascinating to read about the history of Hogwarts. I'll surely finish the book by tomorrow if I keep reading like this, Daniella thought, and she chuckled to herself.

Visiting the Library
Annabeth headed toward the library, her bag, filled with books, slung over her shoulder. She wore her black Hogwarts School robes as was the protocol, but underneath it, she had on a You've Met Your Match Black Knit Lounge Set, consisting of a black light sweater and matching dark tights. Her curly golden-blonde hair was in a Bubble Half-Up Style, and no jewelry or makeup, as it was a school day. Annabeth hardly ever dressed too carefully on weekdays.
She stepped inside the doors of the library, and was met with the sight of rows of books, tables of students studying, and the quiet hum of her surroundings. Her professors had left a lot of homework for the weekend, and Annabeth was planning to finish it all today.
One might think, that, as a Ravenclaw, Annabeth might love studying and homework and whatnot, but they were mistaken. She did not enjoy assignments or lessons. However, she accepted that in order to achieve well in life later on, one had to endure all sorts of suffering in the form of textbooks, lessons, and three-foot long assignments. That was why, regardless of dislike for these subjects, Annabeth listened carefully to the teacher in class, did all her assignments with the utmost care, and revised often. So, her grades were quite good.
Annabeth sat down at a table where only one other student was studying. She had long caramel blonde hair, which was rather messy, dark brown eyes, along with a round face and freckles. She seemed to be reading Hogwarts, A History. It was a book Annabeth had already read many times and memorized by heart.
She took out her textbooks, parchment, quill and ink. She decided to start on a History of Magic essay about the Gargoyle Strike of 1911. She dipped her quill in ink, and started writing.

Daniella never knew that she could enjoy reading about history so much. Everyone who really knew her, would also know that she didn't quite like studying. However, this was different. This was a topic Daniella was actually interested in, and that was rare. Daniella tried not to think about the amount of homework waiting for her. I'll do it all tomorrow, she promised herself.
Suddenly, she had an uncomfortable feeling, as if someone was looking at her. Daniella looked up to see what had caused this feeling, and spotted a student with curly, golden blonde hair who seemed to be heading towards her. The student looked like she was a first year too, but Daniella didn't recognize her from the sorting ceremony. She figured the girl was probably here to work on her homework, just like Daniella intended to do.
The other student sat down at her table, and took out her textbooks, parchment, quill and ink. She started writing quickly, and the quill made an annoying, scratching sound. How can I concentrate on reading with this sound, Daniella thought, slightly annoyed. I might as well go talk to her, taking a break won't hurt.
"Um, hi," Daniella said casually, "I'm Daniella. Daniella Green, but you can call me Dani. What is your name?"

Annabeth had almost finished her History of Magic essay when suddenly, a voice said from across her,’ Um, hi, I'm Daniella. Daniella Green, but you can call me Dani. What is your name?"
She looked up to see the other girl at her table, with dark blonde hair. It seemed to have been she who had talked to Annabeth. Oh, well. Annabeth put down her quill. It was always nice to have an excuse not to study.
”Hi,” Annabeth replied in her high-pitched voice. She had always found it kind of annoying that her voice was so much higher than other girl her age, like a baby’s. It was kind of weird, since Annabeth wasn’t short. In fact, she was a little bit taller than most other girl her age. There wasn’t anything she could do about it, at any rate, and she just hope her voice would change when she got older.
Anyway, back to the library.
”Hi,”Annabeth said. “I’m Annabeth Taylor. Just Annabeth. No nicknames, please.” She had found out early on that others always liked to come up with nicknames for her, which she didn’t like. Her name was Annabeth, for God’s sake! Not, Ann, Annie, Beth, or anything else. Just Annabeth.

There was a moment of silence, and the girl sitting across from her looked up from her parchment and put down her quill.
"Hi, I'm Annabeth Taylor. Just Annabeth. No nicknames, please." The girl with the curly hair spoke with a high-pitched voice, which made her sound younger than she looked like.
Judging by the way Annabeth said "no nicknames, please", Daniella could tell there had been occasions where people didn't respect that wish. Because she herself used to be called Ella, a name she hated, before, Daniella understood why one would mention it when introducing theirself.
"It's nice to meet you, Annabeth,"
She wanted to continue the conversation, but she also really wanted to read. It's important to make friends, a voice in her head told her. She wouldn't want to be lonely here at Hogwarts, would she? And after all, she was a Hufflepuff, and took pride in being a part of this friendly and loyal house.
Daniella observed Annabeth's piece of parchment. She saw that she was working on an essay for History of Magic, something Daniella had to do as well.
"Do you, um, want to study together?" Daniella carefully asked, "I haven't started working on my essay yet."

"It's nice to meet you, Annabeth," Daniella said. She observed Annabeth's piece of parchment, and continued, “Do you, um, want to study together?I haven't started working on my essay yet."
To tell the truth, Annabeth was more comfortable working alone. That way, she could do everything at her own pace, and not listen to suggestions from anyone else. She knew that advice was supposed to be important, but she just didn’t see the point. After all, she could do everything perfectly fine by herself. No help needed.
However, Annabeth knew that there were still seven long years ahead of her at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry, and in order to have fun all those years, friends were crucial. She hadn’t got anything against socializing in itself, actually, just didn’t believe that it should be put together with studying.
But she also thought that if she turned down Daniella’s offer,s he might seem rude, and loose a potential good fiends. She did not want that.
Annabeth smiled in a friendly manner. “Of course!” She agreed. “We can work on our assignments together!”
She gathered up her stuff, and moved to the other end of the table, where Daniella was sitting.

Daniella could have been wrong, but she thought she saw Annabeth hesitate for a moment. Deep down, she hoped the girl would say no. It wasn't that she didn't want to study together, not at all. The problem was that she disliked studying in general. And not only that, but she also wasn't good at it, even if she tried her best. But because Daniella was the one who came up with this idea, she would not have an excuse to procrastinate any more.
"Of course!" Annabeth smiled, and continued: "We can work on our assignments together!" She collected het stuff and exchanged her seat for the one next to Daniella.
Daniella smiled as well. Writing essays couldn't be that bad, if you did it together, right? And maybe, if she felt the need, she could ask Annabeth for help.
Daniella put away Hogwarts, A History, and took out her parchment paper and textbooks. "What was the homework again?" She mumbled, rather to herself than to anyone else. She surely wrote it down somewhere. Daniella quickly went through her notes. Finally, she found the small piece of parchment, with a short note scribbled down. It said, almost illegible: The Gargoyle Strike of 1911. She really needed to work on her handwriting.
"So, I'll just start, alright?" Without waiting for a response, she dipped her quill in ink, and started writing.
