The amount of House elves rushing around in the library today was unusually low. They must've gotten to where they needed to go much earilier in the day, after all it was somewhat late in the afternoon.
Deciding where he wanted to go first was a little bit hard because the library seemed almost infinite. As Micheal entered the collosal maze of books he realised just how big the collomns of the library were. Out of this realisation, a confusion started to sprout in his mind: How did someone get a book from the higher shelves? He decided that he would figure that out later because his first priority was to figure out what was where and memorize the path to get to that topic.
After a few minutes of wandering aimlessly through the rows and coloumns of books, he found a few more interesting topics than what he was looking for (which was the history of the school); he found an invisibility section where half of the room on the shelves were empty. The other half of the books, according to Micheals prediction, were moost likely invisible just like the section had said. Another section he found was the magicial beasts section, and, as anyone would guess, it held all the books from "How to Train a Dragon" to "A guide to capturing Fairies". For the next few seconds, he looked more thoroughly into this subject but he didn't find anything that interested him. After all, his true priority was to look for history books about Hogwarts. But luck was on his side and the next subject to appear was the history section. After scanning the area for any books related to the school, Micheal found a book called "Hogwarts: A history By Bathilda Bagshot". After finding the book, it took him awhile to actually find a chair to sit in, but by the time he found the other end of the library, he found a bunch of empty chairs and desks all waiting for someone to use them...

Penelope dragged her feet toward the library, her bag slung over her shoulder, laden with books. She really didn’t want to do this….but no choice. She hadn’t got a problem with detention, but if the professor sent a letter to her parents… She shuddered just thinking about it.
Now, one might ask what Penelope was here in the library for. Everyone knew that she hated studying, and preferred stuff like sports and stuff much more. Well, this happened: she failed to turn in an acceptable homework assignment yet again(the fourth time, to be exact), and her History of Magic professor told her that if this continued, her parents were gonna have to get involved.
So, here she was, ready to study. Great.
Penelope ventured through the rows and rows of books, which made her dizzy just from looking at. She thought about just sitting down on the floor and raring until her head stopped spinning from all those books, but decided against it. She had a lot of work to do.
She arrived at the other end of the library, where it was totally empty. No one in sight. So great. Everyone else is enjoying themselves and she’s here. Penelope sat down on an empty seat, and took out her books and parchment.

After scanning the area for any books related to the school, Micheal found a book called "Hogwarts: A history By Bathilda Bagshot". After finding the book, it took him awhile to actually find a chair to sit in.
Where are all of the chairs and desks? Micheal thought to himself as he wandered around aimlessly.
The maze of coloumns, to Micheal, seemed almost infinite, but he could already remember the path to some other sections.
There were many more sections that Micheal has newly found that he thought was almost overwhelming. There were section from the classical "spells" catagory all the way to "How to cook with anything". Micheal wanted to look more into each catagory but he already knew that he had a book in his hands that might take him at least three weeks to read. Despite this he grabbed a few more books that he might as well just put back because he knew it would take him over a year to read.
At one point (he wasn't paying much attention to the time, he found and intersection. He decided to go left and, sure enough, were all the chairs and tables. But, by the time he got there, he found a girl at one of the tables. She was wearing a blue jacket with a sleeveless under shirt and she couldn't've been any older than he was.
As he walked to the table, he quickly noticied the amount of books in front of her.
"Hello!" He said in a quiet yet eager voice, "What's your name?"
He sat down across from her, quietly waiting for her responce...

History of Magic, the most boring, useless subject ever….. Who cared about all these stupid dwarfs and wizards who never did anything interesting? Penelope sighed. There was no way she was going to be able to do this. It made no sense. Like, at all. Maybe she could ask some Ravenclaws for help or something.
Suddenly, she heard a voice, speaking eagerly,” Hello! What’s your name?” Penelope looked up, and was met with the sight of….a whole bunch of books. She pushed them away hastily, and saw a boy, about her age, with blue eyes and pale hair, sitting in front of her. He seemed to be quietly waiting for her response.
Not sure whether to be amused for weirded-out, Penelope put down her quill, and pushed away her ink bottle and parchment. At least now she had an excuse not to look at those textbooks. Her eyes and brain hurt just from glancing at them!
Penelope decided on the amused option. She looked at the boy, and smiled, brushing a strand of honey blonde hair behind her ear. She held out her hand. “I’m Penelope,” she said in a friendly voice. “But you can call me Penny. Or Pen, I don’t mind.”

"Hello!" He said in a quiet yet eager voice, "What's your name?"
“I’m Penelope,” She responded in one of the most genuinely friendly voices he's ever heard “But you can call me Penny. Or Pen, I don’t mind.”
"You can call me Micheal." he said shaking her hand almost instantly from across the table.
He sat down across from her putting a considerable weight on the table (caused from him books), this caused him to be a bit confused as to how to table was not broken yet. After a few seconds, he came to the conclusion that the table was under an enchantment that somehow made it unbreakable.
He opened one of his books called How to identify anyone or anything, anywhere, at anytime. The first few pages were quick informational, but as he skimmed (awkwardly) through the book not looking for anything in particular; as he skimmed throught the book, there seemed to be a ton of pictures and illistrations.
"You look like you have a lot to do. Do you need help with anything? Well, I mean I can try, I haven't taken any classes at all yet." He said in a helpful but slightly confused tone.

The boy, who had just introduced himself as Michael, sat down across from Penelope, pulling out a book-and reading it. Ugh. Penelope did not get why he wanted to read it, but she supposed the boy seemed nice enough, if not a little over enthusiastic. But, well, that was not a big problem. Hopefully.
After a while, Michael spoke. "You look like you have a lot to do. Do you need help with anything? Well, I mean I can try, I haven't taken any classes at all yet." He said in a helpful but slightly confused tone.
Penelope smirked discreetly. Gosh, she had no idea what he was getting himself into. She sighed dramatically, and pushed all her textbooks, parchment, and the little notebook she used to put down homework (actually insisted by on elf her Ravenclaw friends, but she, surprisingly, found useful at times.) over to his side of the table.
“Well, since you did ask,”Penelope smiled sweetly(which she had actually found kind of useful in situations like these. On boys anyway) “There are one or two things I might need your help with.”
She sat back, still smiling, and waited for his response.

She hesitated and Micheal got a glace of her homework. He did not think it look like to much; he just thought that it was going to be an extremely tedious job.
She pushed everything away from infront of her to his side of the table.
“Well, since you did ask,”Penelope smiled sweetly." She smiled “There are one or two things I might need your help with.”
He looked at her homework and his theory was, as what he thought, was correct.
"So, what do you need help with." He started and then hesitated "Oh, do you need help with this?" He said pointing to a part of her homework (im not going to clarify what question it is because it is you homework).
Just then, he noticied that the library was getting much louder than it was before.
Is it because a class just ended?" he thought But would everyone be in their commonrooms if they were finishing thier homework?"
