Wishful Thinking
Archer sighed, wishing he had something to tell his parents about Hogwarts, and the events that had gone on in the past few days. There really wasn't much to talk about, and his parents already knew way too much about how the school worked, seeing as they were nervous about Archer and how he would do. That's just the type of people his parents were. There was nothing to be done about it.
Memorable things had happened the past few days, but Archer always felt like he was just an observer. Sitting in the Owlery, watching the owls squabble and fly in and out, he felt like he could finally be a part of something.
(Even if it was more of a mental pull than a physical pull.)
Plus, just being here calmed him down. It probably did to many other people as well. For more than a couple minutes, he just sat there, reflecting on Hogwarts, and the people he'd met.
I mean, there was one thing he could say happened to him for the first time. He had gone to detention, and even if it didn't sound too good, after the experience it seemed silly to be nervous, as it was actually pretty ok! Plus, the ice cream that caused him to break the rules was really pretty worth it.
He sat there quietly, and while he waited, he heard another sigh that broke him from his thoughts.
Looking up, Archer saw another person ascend the steps to the Owlery where he sat. He blinked, and stared. It was a default mechanism, just to stare, and Archer hoped it wouldn't psych this person out, because they had just looked up!

Wishful Thinking
Eri had been wanting to write a letter to her Aunt about all the things about Hogwarts, but she was very frustrated. The brunette had finally found the time to come up to the owlry. Now she had to figure out the exact words she wanted to write.
Frustrated the brunette let out a sigh as she came up the steps to the owlry. She could hear the hoots of the owls and smiled. Owls were one of her favorite animals. They seemed so majestic and wise to her. The way they could fly without making a single sound.
Eri just liked being able to go somewhere and think. The owlry was a nice place cause she could see her great Grey owl she named Twilight. He was a nice pet her Aunt got her. He helped deliver her letters.
When Eri got to the top of the stairs she saw a boy staring at her. She must have interrupted him when she sighed as she came up. "Sorry for the interruption." She said and climbed the last of the stairs and onto the platform. Immiediatly her owl flew to her and she stroked the beak with her pointer finger. "My name is Eri Windstone." She said to the boy.

Wishful Thinking
Archer watched the brunette climb the steps and stop looking suddenly kinda awkward.
"Sorry for the interruption," she said, smiling slightly.
Archer shrugged.
"My name is Eri Windstone."
Archer watched her look awkward, and answered slowly.
"Hi. I'm Archer Reis. Nice to meet you, Eri."
He looked her over, and saw that she had a letter clutched in her hand.
"Who's the letter for?"
When she looked even more awkward at the question, Archer corrected himself.
"Sorry, that was rude. What house are you in? How's it going here? I mean, you've probably been here longer than me, and stuff, and I'm new, so I want to get as much info from students as possible!"
He finished enthusiastically.
She stood there before depositing her letter to an owl that had landed on her hand. Probably her owl. She stroked its beak, smiling at it, and turned to Archer again.
"Owls are my favorite animals." She said. Archer blinked.
"I mean, I guess. I always felt more attached to foxes, but owls are nice animals." He rambled. He didn't know where the conversation was going, but she seemed cool, and he wanted to know more about her. Hopefully, they could even become friends!
"Umm, so. Which house are you in?"

Wishful Thinking
"I'm in Ravenclaw. I guess it could be better, but it's fine. I have a lot of friends, well not that many, but a few. The letter? It's for my Aunt." She smiled and watched Twilight fly away with her letter. Hopefully, her aunt would respond back tomorrow. It would be nice to hear from her Aunt.
"Foxes are also one of my favorite animals. Foxes and owls generally are my favorite. How is your time here going?" She said a bit happier. It was nice talking to someone who wasn't another Ravenclaw. She talked to them too often.
Eri smiled and sat down on the ledge next to him. She wondered what house he was in. "What house are you in?" She said wondering. Eri looked at all of the owls. They were really happy there. Flying around a huge castle. Oh, she loved flying. It was a lot of fun. She had nothing else to ask him since she didn't really know what to say. She could talk about a lot of things, but she didn't know is interests and it was awkward to start a conversation about something the other didn't like. So she waited for his answer.
