Henry glanced down the stairs, he crept carefully down the stairs. Quietly and strategically so he didn't wake anyone. The teen stepped down off the last step, sliding his feet toward the door where his scuffed up trainers sat. Pulling one then the other one.
Henry stood by his front door dressed in jeans and a sweater with a undershirt. The golden rusted pendant hanging around his neck. Henry set gaze for the family room, questioning if he should use floo or a muggle car to travel that night. His eyes flickered toward the stairs, toward the rooms hidden away up on the second floor that contains his father and step family. A group that he dared not wake that night. Floo would be the quicker option but it was more messy and could involve enough noise to wake the others up while muggle car is the slower option but didn't leave any trace that he left that morning.
The teen pounded the question. Having thought about each part of the plan carefully and diligently except for this single crucial piece. Henry knew he had to choose quickly before someone awoke and caught him that night, foiling his plans and earning him a punishment from the parents.
The teen was leaving early in the morning. Darkness still covered the land, the sun still hadn't awoken yet. Henry planned to leave that early and travel to Cokesworth to find the address he found on the cassette tape. Where he is hoping to meet his uncle. His mum's brother. The teen felt worried. Concerned about his plan, smoothing out his sweater looking for confidence. He wished that Loki, his beloved feline was coming with him but he decided best to leave him here at the home. In godric's hollow.
Henry looked around, knew he didn't have time before someone got up or heard him so took a breath. The teen rised a hand for a golden knob of the door when a voice distracted him. Turning, the teen saw Rose at the top of the steps and shortly the teen replied"nothing, uh going for a walk," not wanting to worry the girl as he figured his excuse would hold, "go back to bed, Rosie," Henry offered a soft smile before realizing he made a mistake. The teen nevered called the girl Rosie unless poking fun so that would be strange and unsual.
Watching the girl walk the down stairs, join him by the door. Henry granted her determination as he spoke"you know, your quite stubborn," biting the inside of his cheek as he watched the time tick by, knowing well what was about to happen as he spoke"I found a relative of the Knights, you can come just don't tell anyone." A short nod toward the girl then he turned on his heel, reaching for the golden knob of the house. Henry pulled it open but this time he wasn't alone. He has his sister with him.
The two hailed a muggle taxi, Henry sneaked some muggle money from their parents to pay the guy. The trip was a little over a hour until they reached Cokesworth, England.
Piling out of the muggle vehicle. Henry repeated the address this time so Rose can look for it and to comfort himself. Moments passed. No luck. The teen felt about giving up when a house at the end with overgrown hedges and browning grass caught his eye.
"Artemis," Henry called for his redheaded sister as he approached the house, simlair to the house. A town house. Painted a color resembling black, dark curtains hung closed in thr dusty windows. The teen checked the address. It matched. Nodding toward Rose, ensuring he stood in front of her just in case something happened.
The teen stepped up the three short cobblestone steps. Held up his fist and knocked. Before taking a step back, closer to Rose as his eyes remained on the door.

Really Early Morning
Sweatshirt and jeans=================== ===================
Rose hadn't known why, but she wasn't able to sleep that night. Something had kept her on edge, telling her that something wasn't okay. Something wasn't right. It was a frustrating feeling, feeling like something was wrong but not quite knowing what. She didn't know what was keeping her up, but she had a feeling it was important. Rose rolled over quietly, then noticed something strange.
Henry.
Leaving.
Fully dressed.
She only caught a glimpse of him as he quietly left the room, but Rose's feeling that something was wrong only grew. Where was he going? The redhead sat up carefully in her bed (she had hit her head on the ceiling way too many times for her instincts to allow her to sit up abruptly).
She shouldn't follow him, right? I mean... she could just be being annoying when he wanted to be left alone. She didn't want to be obnoxious and steal any alone time that he might need. Maybe he needed to get away from her. Maybe she was just being really annoying and clingy. Maybe she should just leave him alone...
But... what if he really needed her? What if he needed her and she wasn't there? What if he needed somebody and nobody came... and it was all her fault?
She froze, unable to move with indecision.
Rose didn't know if she could live with herself if Henry needed her and she wasn't there. She could live with herself if she checked on him and he told her to go away.
The redhead climbed out of her bed, finding the outfit she could change into most quickly and pulling the clothes onto her body in the dark, grabbing her converse, her phone, and her wand and sneaking out the door. She pulled her shoes on as she walked to the stairs. She stood at the top of the stairs and watched Henry reach for the doorknob.
"Where are you going?" she asked. Her voice was low, as she didn't want to wake up any of those in the house around her. She didn't sound demanding, either. Just curious.
He told her that he was just going for a walk, and told her she should go back to bed. The nickname made her smile. But then she realized that he didn't often call her that. It was just the smallest hint that something was off here. "You're going on a walk in the middle of the night?" Technically, it was early morning by now, but the commonly used phrase still seemed to apply. "It's still dark outside..." she murmured to herself, thinking to a scene in a Broadway show that was similar to this. Except in the play, she let him go and he... died.
Rose swallowed back the thought, a rush of emotion threatening to overcome her features, but she didn't let it. Henry was not going to die. She wouldn't let that happen.
The redhead walked down the stairs, coming to meet Henry. "I know," she said with a small smile, his casual comment that she was stubborn dispelling a little bit of her anxiety that she would just annoy him. Relief flooded through her as he told her that she could come, and she smiled. "I promise I won't tell," she said genuinely. Rose would keep her mouth shut.
But her mind was spinning. A relative of the Knights? Somebody that was related to his mom? Somebody that might know where Anna was? Rose was determined on this adventure to not only protect Henry with her life, but collect any clues of where Anna might be, as she assumed Henry would do the same.
There had been a couple of times where she thought that people in the halls were talking about Annabeth Knight, and she had rushed up to them, asking them about what they knew. Turned out that they weren't talking about her at all- they had been talking about Annabeth Fisher, or Elsa Knight. They hadn't mentioned the Annabeth that she wished would come back. Her stepsister. Rose hadn't had time to grow any attachment towards Annabeth, but she was her sister, and she was also important to Henry. If there had been anything she could do, she would have helped as much as she could. But there wasn't anything she could do, and that made her frustrated.
They hopped in a taxi and rode around an hour there. They didn't talk much in the taxi, mostly watching the time tick away as they got closer and closer to this relative of the Knights. They arrived in the general area and searched, until Henry found it. Rose double-checked the address that he had told her with the street and the number. "This is it," she whispered. Rose and Henry approached the front door and Henry knocked. It was still early in the morning, and she hoped that they were up by now.
Please open the door, please open the door, please open the door...
Rose's grip tightened on the wand in her pocket.

Henry stepped up onto the step. He took a breath. Held up his left then knocked, hard as his eyes flickered toward the door before taking a step down. Standing besides Rose.
Nothing
Seconds passed. Henry thought they might be asleep or on the other side of the house. He looked for reasonable possibilities why the door still is shut.
Minutes past
Nothing
Silence
Henry stepped back onto the first step, knocking again. A part of him knowinf that this is the place. That he figured something out. If Rose was speaking or suggesting to leave then he couldn't hear her, ignoring her ad his eyes stayed on the door. They had to be there. They had to be. Henry knocked again, thus time louder.
Henry looked down the street, both directions before his eyes flickered back toward the door. They couldn't be wrong.... they couldn't.... right? Henry reached to knock again when the door opened a crack causing Henry to stumble down the step. Standing back besides Rose.
The crack so small, all thay can be seen is a single bright blue eye. A eye that is studying the two kids. Twitching occasionally as the door squeaked, threatening to close once more.
"Go Away."
The words came from a voice riddled with a british accent and a tad higher than one would normally think. Loud and commanding also. Henry bit back his fear as he took a step forward and spoke"Wait! I have questions for you, are you Edward Knight?" The eye behind the door darted down the street before back at Henry as the voice from behind the door spoke"Who wants to know?" Henry took a breath unsure how the man would react as he spoke"My name is Henry Knight, my mum was Ivy Knight and I think you were her brother-" however he wouldn't be able to finish his words when the voice would suddenly snap and cut him off.
"Prove it! That your her son!"
Henry glanced behind him at Rose before back at the door, questioning how can he prove it. He couldn't should a DNA test or a family photo. The teen felt his fingers fiddle with the sleeves of his sweather as his eyes flickered down and landed on the pendant. Wait the pendant! Henry held up the gold rusted pendant in his left hand toward the cracked door as he spoke"My mum gave me this, she said it belonged to her family." The eye grew in size as the door begun to tremble, as if about to shut close at any possible moment.
"Where did you get that? Who sent you! Answer me, lad!"
Henry dropped the pendant from his hand, the pendant landed on his chest as he looked toward the door. Unsure how sane this person is.... Henry now questioned if he made a good decision coming here and now bringing Rose here.
"Uh- no one sent me, I found your address on a cassette tape that my mum had and she gave this to me," Henry spoke as he watched the door wandering if they should just leave. This person didn't feel like talking to them and anywhere was better than standing out in the street in the dark. The voice behind the door then spoke"did anyone follow you?" Henry glanced at Rose for a moment before looking back toward the door as he slowly shook his head to signal no.
The door then suddenly shut.
Henry looked toward Rose, he figured that it would be a bust. About to suggest leaving when the sounds of locks unlocking coild be heard from the door. About 6 of them. Henry gazed at the door as it opened revealing a young man of six feet with ruffled dark brown hair and brigit blue eyes paired with a pale complexion. Wearing lomg black slacks and a black turtleneck with dress shoes.
Henry stared at thr man for a second unsure what to do or say until he heard him say"You really are Ivy's son and the others haven't found you yet?" The words sounds strange but Henry didn't question the man as he spoke"yes, are you her brother then?" The man then offered Henry a hand as he spoke" oh right- I'm Edward Knight. I was Ivy's younger brother and I guess your uncle." Henry couldn't help a soft smile as he cautiously took the man's hand, shaking it when suddenly Edward pulled him closer.
Henry watched as Edward examined the pendant as he spoke"so she gave it to you..." Henry took a breath as he stepped back from the man, ending their physical contact. Edward saw the awkwardness and stepped back to reveal a dark and gloomy hall, nearly every pieve covered in black or dust. Including the stairs.
"Please, come in and quickly."
Henry didn't look back or dicuss with Rose first, he walked right into the house. His mind still on his uncle and family.

Really Early Morning
Sweatshirt and jeans=================== ===================
As the minutes ticked away, Rose began to grow uncomfortable. Doubts rose up in her brain. Maybe nobody lived here? The state of the house would suggest that. Maybe the person that Henry was looking for wasn't home? It was probable that they were just asleep, so Rose looked for a doorbell by the door, but if there was one she couldn't see it. Would Wizarding people have doorbells? Probably, right?
Rose started to fidget, bouncing on her feet a little to move her blood around. Rose got cold quickly, and the summer morning certainly wasn't warm. "Maybe you should-" she started, but it was as if Henry was thinking the same thing as her, stepping up to the door and knocking once again. Nothing again. As he stepped forward to knock a third time, she took in a breath, about to tell him that she was going to go check the address again (which was a little ridiculous, since she had already checked it three times before they approached the house).
But she was quickly cut off as an eye became visible in the crack of the door. An eye that looked so shockingly familiar, though she couldn't quite pinpoint where she knew it from, at first.
He told them to go away, and in a rush of defiance, Rose said, "Hey!" How rude of him. Henry was able to make a much more dignified response to the man, to which the man simply snapped again. But if he wasn't Edward Knight, Rose couldn't see why he wouldn't have just said no. "That means he is," she murmured under her breath, mostly to herself. It was only afterwords that she realized Henry's enhanced hearing would allow him to hear her words.
Henry continued, explaining their connection. Rose realized quickly that this man- Edward Knight- could be Henry's uncle.
His uncle.
Henry glanced back at her and Rose shrugged. How was he supposed to prove that he was her son? Maybe he had one of those spit-into-a-tube DNA tests lying around? It was clear that he was skeptical about Henry, and the subject of his maybe-sister was a sensitive subject. Rose watched as Henry showed the pendant to Edward. Rose had barely ever seen Henry without it since he started wearing it. She always thought it was just a quirk of his, maybe something that made him comfortable. She had even considered the possibility of it symbolizing something sappy like how there was always light, or that one of his friends gave it to him. And he mentioned a cassette tape.
The man demanded if anyone had followed them, and Rose shook her head. Well, unless he was asking Henry in particular. Then Rose had followed him. She didn't know if she really counted. She was more of a... a bodyguard, an escort, an emotional support ginger. She wasn't really here to find out things in the same way that Henry was.
The door shut, without any warning. Rose scoffed. "What a nice and welcoming man," she murmured. She had no idea how the two were related. Sounds came from behind the door that Henry could decipher much better than she could, no doubt. She finally realized that they were locks. A lot of them. Her suspicion rose. What was he hiding?
The man stepped out. Edward. He looked gothic, almost like a vampire. Honestly, Rose wouldn't doubt it if he was at least part-vampire. They stared at each other for a moment before Edward spoke up, finally believing Henry. He introduced himself, and the connection was confirmed. This man was Henry's uncle. Rose was tempted to introduce herself as Henry's emotional support ginger, but didn't think it was quite appropriate.
As Edward pulled Henry closer, Rose was tempted to whip out her wand and send him flying across his own lawn, but she resisted it. That would not be the best way to say hello to Henry's uncle.
Rose also resisted the urge to ask him what he was hiding, as he quickly ushered them into his house. Rose complied, entering the threshold. Edward's house was almost as gothic as his outfit, and Rose's very small suspicion that he was part-vampire rose just a tad. Either that, or he was just colorblind. That still didn't excuse the layer of dust over almost everything she could see. Rose gave him a minuscule smile, quickly said "Thank you," out of pure instinct, and walked in after Henry.
"You have a very nice house," she offered the man. Well, it would have been nice if he had bothered to clean it. It was a nice-adjacent house.
That's when she finally realized why his eyes looked so strikingly familiar to her.
Unable to breathe for a moment, she realized that his eyes were very similar to Henry's.

Go home kid and stay there
Walking into the small and dark hall, curtains pulled closed and dust particles floating in the air. Henry glanced aroind. Looking for anything really, any sign of his family or his mum.
The dark wooden door covered in sox metal locks. A table besides the door holing a single sliver key and a few letters. A set of stairs leading up to a second floor, covered by a wall. The rest of the hall leading to a desd end. One either side of the hall, left and right there is a opening to two rooms on either side. To the left a small living room/library area and to the right a kitchen both rooms has their curtains closed.
The man shut the door instantly as soon as Rose walked in. Locking each metal mechanism on the door. Henry looked over toward Rose, eyeing her a bit almost to say "this guy seems weird" choosing not to voice these thoughts or use sign language as a precaution.
When the man finished with the lock, he turned and took a fee steps toward Henry. His eyes meeting the teens. Henry took a breath as he heard his voice"I wouldn't imagine that I would see you not after-" Henry suddenly felt curious when his uncle went silent, he spoke"not after?" Henry watched Edward shake his head for a moment then speak"nothing, could I see it?" Edward pointed to the pendant around his neck. Henry nodded, slipping it off then handing the rusted item to his uncle.
Edward held the pendant in his hand, examining the symbol carefully as Henry spoke"what does it mean?" Henry watched as Edward looked from the pendant to his nephew as he spoke"this pendant is given to the child who will become the next head of the family," Henry felt his eyes widen a bit and let out a small breath as he spoke"wha- so that means-" His words faded away, unable to voice the rest still contemplating the thought that Edward to already know as the man spoke"yes, Ivy was choosen to become the next head. She wasn't the eldest of the group but our fathers favorite and now it seems she have given it to you."
Edward smiled a little as he handed the pendant back to Henry who slipped it back on over his head, the rusted pendant rest aginest his chest. The teen smiled a little at his uncle suddenly feeling a tad more comfortable when the man place a hand on his shoulder and spoke"you look like her, you have her eyes," the teen looked down for a moment before back up again at his uncle to listen to his voice, "now why did you come here? I doubt it was to meet me."
Nodding, Henry smiled a little as he spoke"I want to find out about the Knights and why my twin ran off with them," at the words Edward eyes widen and his expression changed to a worried one as he spoke"your twin ran off with the others? That isn't good..." Henry looled toward the man, suddenly worried as he spoke"why? What's going to happen to her?" Henry felt Edward squeeze his shoulder a little as he spoke"I'll explain everything." Henry returned his uncle nod, a part of him escalated for this moment. For the chance to meet his uncle, his anxiety thundering over but his mind blocking out the bad and concerns for once. Even if there are some present...
Edward started on the way to the left room, hand still on Henry's shoulder when he would finally spot Rose. The man would eye her for a moment then say"Who is this?" His mind blocking out the negatives, Henry didn't see the raised eyebrow that Edward gave to Rose or the uncertainty in the man's voice as he spoke"this is Rose, my step sister." Henry looked over toward Rose, offering her a quick nod before looking back toward his uncle as he listened to him say"ah, well come along."
Henry followd his uncle to the living room, Edward's hand still on his shoulder. The room is circular, the sides covered in bookshelves expect one which contains a window. A window that only had a few flickers of light sneaking through the closed blindfold. A couch stood in the center, ine made of velvet and two leather chairs on the side. In between the three seats, a small dusty coffee table.
Edward let go of Henry's shoulder, going over toward a book shelf looking for something as he spoke"sit, make yourself at home," Henry walked toward the couch. Taking a seat before looking iver toward his uncle who ran a finger along the spines of the books looking for one in particular.
"Why are you afraid of the Knights and why haven't I met you before?"
Henry spewed the questions from his mouth as his eyes followed the man. Edward hastily went through the shelves, half listening as he spoke"give me a moment to explain the first and the second well blame your father," Henry stared at the man. He is willing to blame his father but wanted a reason, he doubted his father was the sole reason why he never met his uncle before.
"What do you mean? What does my father have to do with it,"
Henry asked eyes following Edward aroind the room listening to his words, "Luke believed the Knights were the same as the Alluring's so he convinced Ivy to leave and then often fought with her when I visited," Henry looked down at his hands for a momrnt before back at Edward believing that there is more.
"but there has to be a reason," Henry asked looking for more as he wondered what the man searched for. Edward read over titles as he spoke"the reason was after you and your sister was born, she wanted to be with the family again and I supported her but Luke was aginest the idea. The two argued for hours, claiming he didn't want his children involved with the Knights ended with a duel between us." Henry sat back into the cushions, his mind not fully working as his eyes followed his uncle. This is why Arthur didn't want him telling their father about the tape.
Henry took a breath as he forced out the next few words.
"Have you ever met Arthur? My brother?"
"A few times but he wouldn't remember, only a tot he was back then. Ah! Found it."

Rose's chest was tight as she walked into the house, and she quickly shook away the shock at noticing Edward's eyes. He then went to lock the door again, and she suppressed the urge to ask what he was hiding. Or what he was hiding from. Henry gave her a skeptical look when the man wasn't watching, and her eyes widened just barely, not in surprise but in an "I-know-right?" look, bordering on an eye roll. Edward, in locking the door, still didn't seem to notice her at all. Her attempt at politeness was overlooked, as well. Maybe he didn't hear her in his paranoia about his locks.
Edward started talking, but quickly stopped. Rose's mind first went to finish it with Henry's mother's death. But as Edward didn't continue, even when prompted, he didn't elaborate, quickly changing the subject to the pendant. The redhead watched carefully as Henry took the pendant off. For all the times she had seen him wearing it or fingering it, she hadn't ever seen him take it off and hand it to someone, at least as far back as she could remember.
Edward inspected the pendant, then dumped a rather shocking truth on Rose's brother. Her mouth hung open for just a moment, out of shock. But then she quickly closed it, her jaw tightening. She called up the illusion that she was only momentarily surprised by this fact, but on the inside she was still shocked. Henry Knight- her brother- he was the next head of the family that he had to work really hard to learn anything about? Now that was just unfair. But if his mother was dead... was he the head of the family now? Did he have to turn a certain age or something?
The man seemed to loosen up a little bit, knowing Henry wasn't there to hurt him. He placed a hand on Henry's shoulder and said that he had his mother's eyes. If Rose hadn't been so nervous at the moment, she would have had a hard time suppressing an "awwwwww." Rose was sure that Edward would have missed his sister, and that he probably didn't want to bring up memories of her. Henry was a living memory of Ivy Knight.
At the mention of Anna running off with the other Knights, Edward looked surprised, and Rose's stomach twisted. A shy idea entered her mind. Maybe that's what Edward was hiding from. Those in his family. She wondered why they were so dangerous, and why Edward seemed to dread the thought that Anna could be with them.
The redhead was finally noticed. She left the introduction to Henry, since she hadn't been addressed. Instead, she gave a friendly wave toward the man and a small smile, choosing not to say anything.
The family room would have also been nice if Edward had taken a little bit more care with it, with velvet and leather seating and bookshelves everywhere. Edward just kept reminding her of Henry. First his eyes, then the bookshelves. Though Rose hoped if Henry had these many books he would dust a little more.
Rose was beginning to feel more comfortable with Edward, though she was sure she would start sneezing soon, and took a seat next to Henry on the couch, watching as the man looked for something in the bookshelf. Rose followed Edward's explanation about Henry's father, and Rose sat on her hands. Would Luke ever do something like that to her own mother? Would he cut her off from her family just because of his past? Rose shook the thought away, focusing on the conversation between the two Knights.
Then Edward mentioned a duel. Rose was about to ask who won, but then she realized- Henry hadn't ever seen Edward after that. Luke must have won, because otherwise they would have seen Edward again. Her stomach twisted, and she wondered if her dueling skills would ever lead to a big decision like that. She sure hoped not.
The conversation shifted to Arthur, then Edward seemed to find what he was looking for. Rose watched him carefully, remembering the man's promise to explain everything. This was what Henry had been waiting for.

Go home kid and stay there
Henry edged himself to the side of the couch, closer to the chair that Edward sat down in.
In the the man's gasp, laid a leather bound book. The teen felt his gaze fixated on the book as he listened to his uncle's words" the day that she was disowned, Ivy left with only a single bag and that pendant that she was suppose to give to our father," Henry forced himself to move his eyes from the book to the man as he looked at him questioning, the new thoughts swirled throughout his mind as Edward continued"she lost on rights or ties to the family that day, our father was devastated but our siblings well they were more considered over who will become the next head." Henry felt himself burning with questions, eyes rested on the man as he inched closer.
"What happened? Who became the next head then," Henry asked as Edward ran his hands along the spine of the book, taking a few moments before replying" when our father died, our mother became the head and she is still haven't yet figured out who will become the next," the teen stared at the man, questions bubbled within as he took a breath then asked"isn't the eldest guarantee the head or something?" Despite growing up in a pureblood household, the teen knew very little of this inner workings as he watched Edward explain"the Knights are multiple branches, each with a head that form the knights of the inner guard. Our family unlike others is a direct branch to Knights leading back for centuries and also the only one that hadn't choosen the next head." Henry nodded, absent-mindedly remembering each word spoken by his uncle during this interaction.
The man handed the lad the leather bound book as he spoke"the book is simlair to the family tree but perhaps smaller and less detailed version pertaining to our branch plus the occasional others," Henry took the book in his hands, running his fingers along the edges. The teen took a breath, never had he been felt this close to his mum. To the other side of him, to his family. A breath. The teen looked up, his eyes meeting his uncle who nodded toward him.
A moment of confidence, Henry nodded back to the man with a soft smile then dropped his eyes back toward the book. Openning the the first page to reveal a image of a sword and wand crossed over a flame. The teen curiosity looked at the ink as Edward spoke"the family emblem, " running his fingers over it, the teen smiled for a moment before turning the page to find a organized yet detailed array of photos with gold lettering underneath.
The pages were burned at edges, stained with a dark covering. The one's contained in the photos, wore expensive and fitted clothing. Barley any smiles. Planned photos. Names of Knights and a few other surnames with notes indicating which branch families were from.
Henry made a move to turn the page but Edward reached his finger across the page, pointing at a certain photo of four children position around a stacks of books. Each wearing pressed and mature apparel. The boy that stood on top looked to be the youngest with dark brown hair and blue eyes while the girl who stood on the stack, holding a few books seems to be one of the eldest with flowing dark brown hair and blue eyes. The girl sitting seemed to stand out with the lightest brown hair and nearly visible blue in her eyes with a focused gaze. The final boy in the photo had dark brown hair, dark almost black blue eyes and was trying to balance books on top of his head.
Edward pointed to the photo as he spoke"the four of us, the direct branch in the Knights," pointing for the boy with the books ontop of his head, "The eldest, Dante. He belived that he should be the head as the eldest," the man moved his finger to land on the sitting in the photo as he continued"Merida, the third eldest. She craves power and how she can obtain it. The last time we spoke, she wanted to be the head." A beat, Edward mived his finger toward the next to children as he continued"Ivy, the second eldest and our father's favorite then me, the youngest." Henry stared at the pages, choosing to stay silent.
The teen watched the man turn a few pages and point to another photo as he spoke"before hogwarts, the four of us spent everyday together at the manor. Best friends once, when we use to get in trouble Ivy always took the blame but since she was fathers favorite Dante got punished." Henry suddenly had a mix of feelings surge through him, a part of him admired his mother's willingness to aidmit to a wrong to spare her siblings while another part felt bad for his uncle. That must have been difficult getting punished constantly for your siblings, it allowed Henry to wonder if Arthur ever got punished for the actions of Annabeth and him.
Noticing the blonde hair of the kids in the photo, Henry asked"why is their hair blonde?" Tearing his eyes from the pages to Edward who explained"as children, we use to dare each other to dye our hair blonde." Henry trued to imagine his mum dying her hair as kid while Edward flip a few more pages again, the teen dropped his eyes down onto the book.
Henru felt his eyes move toward the next photo that Edward pointed toward as he listened to his words, "Ivy never use to shy away from adventure, always out exploring and usually I would follow her," the teen nodded slightly when his eyes caught the glimpse of another photo.
Henry pointed to the photo of the two girls as he asked"Is that my mum?" Edward leaned closer, eyeing the photo as he spoke"Ivy and Merida, before hogwarts and all of it they were inseparable. Ivy is the one with the bag," Henry eyed the photo. Both girls looked so happy, smiling and eyes wide at each other. The teen smile himself a little, hard to believe that his mum was once a child much like him wirh siblings who she seemed so happy with.
Although another question formed in his mind and he doubt the man's last answer was the reason for it all, bringing his head up and looking at hia uncle's eyes as he spoke"What happened? Between them? Between my mum and her family? And don't say it was my father's fault, there has to be more, right?" Edward sat back in his chair, slightly smiling niw as Henry watched him speak"you really are your mother's son, intelligent and all," the teen nodded a bit but wouldn't allow the moment to distract him from the answers that he seeked as he listened to hia uncle'a voice.
"The Knights are generations of slytherin pureblood's, Ivy was the first to be sorted elsewhere and she was a remarkable ravenclaw. Perfect grades, marvelous chaser for the quidditch team, and even captain of the team. She was one of the most popular students," Edward spoke and as his word found Henry's ears, the teen felt less and less like hia mother. He was awlful at quidditch, barely passed flying with a O and he wasn't even a lick of popular at school. The teen felt like stopping his uncle but didn't, listening to the man continue"Merida grew jealous of her, she wanted her life. She wanted to be a quidditch star, popular at school, and father's favorite. That jealously and her power hungry tendency is what drew them apart," Henry felt his stomach drop, his aunt was jealous of his mother? The teen felt sympathetic for the women and was about to drop his head back to the book till he heard Edward say"When Ivy met Luke, you should have seen how jealous Merida was and how much she wanted to date him. Funny since they were best friends, no signs of romance between them."
Henry looked back up at his uncle, a bit wearily now since he never heard of his parenrs school days as he spoke"what? My father knew her?" Edward nodded, leaning forward in hia chair and flipping a few pages of the book before landing on one and pointing to a photo.
Henry gazed at the photo, five students gathered around and two of them playing chess as he listened to Edward speak"Summer holiday before fifth year, taken at the Knight manor. Dante and Merida dyed their hair blonde, their the two sharing a chair. Luke was playing aginest Dante that day, I was trying to give tips and Ivy teamed up with Luke to win." Henry smiled at the photograph, rubbing his forefinger across the faces. He had never seen his father smile or a photo of him nor his mum before that day.
"Ivy and Luke were best friends, inseparable those two but it came to a shock when they got married after school since they never showed romantic signs and actually swore never to do it," Edward finished his words and Henry looked up, confused. How come his parents didn't want to he together and what changed? Tightening his grip on the pages as he asked"what do mean? Swore?" Edward let out a breath, flipping the pages before stopping at a photo of two fourteen year old kids dancing.
Gazing at the photo, Edward sat back in his chair with a breath as he spoke"a winter ball, the Knights and Allurings both attended. Ivy and Luke made a pack for the night that they will pretend to be dating to avoid questions or possible suitors from their family's but- but when both families saw them dancing together they were overjoyed," turning his eyes from the book to his uncle as the man continued"neither the eldest of their siblings but both destined to be the heads, when the familes saw them dance together well... the Alluring's were pleased to keep their status pure and the Knights wanted the Alluring wealth to fund their obsession of power so the rwo swore never to get married. To not give in to their families." Henry dropped his eyes to the book, watching carefully as the room grew eerie silent until Edward spoke.
"What is going on with hogwarts? Anything new or the same old rubbish?"

However much of a hermit Edward had seemed at first, he was actually not a bad guy. Rose had bit back protective language at first, wanting to shield Henry from anything that could hurt him. Especially some creepy bordering-on-emo man who lived in a dusty house all by himself. But Edward was actually seeming to warm up to Henry. He didn't talk to her much, which Rose was plenty fine with. This wasn't about her, and she wasn't about to make it about her. This was about Henry. There was an almost... fatherly way that Edward talked to Henry, as he explained all of the history behind the Knights. Henry asking questions, Edward explaining answers. This was what Henry had wanted. Answers.
And, more than that... family.
Rose wasn't leaning over to see the pictures that Edward showed Henry, though she did catch a a couple of looks at the photos while watching the two. Rose found it hard to imagine Henry's mom as a little girl. Well, mostly, she found it hard to imagine Henry's mom since she had never met her before. But it was especially hard to imagine somebody she'd never met, but had heard about through Henry as an adult, as a little girl. It was hard to imagine a lot of adults as kids. But that was how the world worked. Everyone used to be a kid. Even her mom. Even her stepdad.
But there they were.
Edward continued to explain the complex connections of the Knights, and she watched the two of them as Henry and Rose listened. Henry seemed to have thought a lot of this through and his intelligence led him to know that it wasn't just his father that kept Ivy Knight from her family. Edward watched Henry, and Rose wondered what he was thinking about as he told Henry he was just like his mother. Rose could see that. Henry wasn't the best student broom-wise, but he was better than she was in the Quidditch Scrimmage (that wasn't saying much, though). He was incredibly intelligent, and friendly to everyone he met. Rose wouldn't say he was popular. He was known by quite a few people, and was kind to everybody.
Rose's interest started rising as Edward started to explain the complexity of Luke and Ivy's relationship, how they swore never to be used and never showed romantic signs but then... got married and had three kids. Rose wondered what had changed between the two of them. That was strange, how that had changed so quickly.
Strange indeed.
Edward paused and Henry didn't seem to have any more questions. Rose thought about leaving, but Edward asked a question this time. Asking about Hogwarts. Rose glanced to Henry. "Um, it's..." she started, but trailed off. Well, ya put a whole bunch of teenagers who are already being dumped on with hormones and give them magic and... well, what do you really expect to happen? "Did they have biannual balls back when you went to Hogwarts?" she asked Edward. She became acutely aware of her lack of a British accent in that moment, though she shoved the thought down. "Those are the worst. The last one that the both of us went to..." she glanced to Henry, remembering the Blossom Ball in which they had both left the ball and met each other in the corridors, taking refuge in each other's presence and trying to help the other. She shook her head. Rose usually wasn't one to keep up much with the new things happening around Hogwarts, so she probably wouldn't know as well as Henry did about all this. "There's some new stuff, but the majority is the same old rubbish." She glanced to Henry, as if asking for confirmation if she was right.

Go home kid and stay there
Henry stared at the photo of the two kids dancing, his fingers touch the image. Slightly trembling as theh hovered, placing his hand on the page. The photo. His fingers tracing the lines, the figures of the two. His eyes studying... the picture... the movements... the faces... emotions of the two.
He didn't speak. He had the feeling Edward knew. He knew that he needed a moment. A moment to think... a moment to himself.... the teen heard the question but his mind stayed on the image... his father's lowered head. His mother's hands. How close they are. How young they are.
Rose's voice. The balls... were they the worst? Or did they depend on who you are... who you went with... what you did... who you are... new stuff? Rubbish? Henry rubbed his fingers to the photo of his parents dancing. Would he of said that or another definition for hogwarts? The teen questioned it but it floated from his mind moments later as be stared... stared at the photo of his parents.
Henry barely saw photos of his parents during their hogwarts years. As a young child, he would ask but now he learned. Learned that his father wouldn't share them. Wouldn't show them. Seeing the two dancing together as teens, the teen softly smiled. A opportunity worth taking.
The teen turned the page of the book, eyes on the photos as Edward sat back in his chair. Legs across. Hand lazily yet gracefully gesturing towsrd Rose as he spoke"who are you?" A beat. The teen wasn't paying attention to the conversation, gazing at the photos in the album as Edward spoke" stepsister? Your pureblood then." The question soines more like a phase as he stared at Rose, the man's eyes narrowing about to ask something when Henry spoke"where's the others? Why are you alone here?" The teen oblivious to the current tension and conversation as he looked up at his uncle.
"Well, shortly after Ivy was disowned I was to," Edward spoke, remembering time through the eyed of a boy who looked like a photo from the past, " the Knights are obsessed with power, they would do anything to obtain it so I worry that they'll come for me next. Come to get me back in, to help them and manipulate me. What I fear is what they did to your twin." The words. The teen drop his head back to the album, would they.... would they do that... to family....
The teen looked back about, filled with question as Edward spoke"you look like me, like your grandfather." Henry stared. He does? The teen wasn't sure if he liked that or not as he spoke"do I?" The man nodded, sitting up as he spoke"you do. You even have his name, I wouldn't imagine she'll name one of her kids after him." Henry stared. He... he had his grandfather's name... the teen shallowed hard before speaking"but didn't you say the Knights are power obsessed? This shouldn't be a good thing right?"
Staring at the man. Waiting. Edward rose from his seat, drawing his wand to twirl between his fingers. Henry watched, wondering why he needs a wand as he listened to him speak"the Knights are complicated." Henry watched him draw near them, keeping his seat as the man spoke" what house? Red head? What house and blood?"
