Detention
[ THIS THREAD IS FOR THOSE I HAVE PERSONALLY OWLED AND GIVEN DETENTION. IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN DETENTION, YOU WILL BE TREATED AS A VISITOR AND ASKED TO LEAVE. ]
The day dragged on for what seemed for forever. Since it was her one day of the week "off", Leonie had spent majority of it wandering the halls and sitting in her classroom, marking homework. Never in a million years would she had thought she would be in this position. But after all, this was just another assignment she received as an Auror, and another step to getting back her position as an Unspeakable.
To say the woman was devastated about this occurrence was an understatement, to say the least. She didn't want to be a professor, she didn't want to be in a school, and she most definitely didn't want to deal with children. Why else wouldn't she have some of her own? She hated them at times, finding them annoying, or irritating, or everything bad. Of course her opinions on people change while they age, but she most definitely couldn't even begin to figure out how she had dealt with them so well so far. The sixth and seventh year students she could understand. But first years? They were a nuisance.
It was getting later on in the day, and with that, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom dimmed darker and darker, as the sun was setting on the opposite side of the building, and this side was now doused in shade. Some people liked the light, but well, Leonie preferred the drapes to be closed. She didn't like day time, being much of a night owl herself, and the sun made her skin itch at this point. That's how long she had been out of it.
Right now, the professor was gracefully sitting behind her desk, one of her legs crossed over another. She leaned her weight onto her forearms, which were leaned against the surface of her dark oak desk. Her one good eye was skimming over a piece of homework in front of her, meanwhile her glass eye saw.. well, not much. She lifted the end of her pencil - she hated quills with a passion - to her mouth, taking the end in between her teeth. Whoever's homework this was, they were extremely good with the class, and she was considering inviting them to a mentoring session for extra practice when the door to the classroom opened.
In came the first person serving detention that day, and an unimpressed look crossed over Leonie's face. She had been giving out detentions a lot lately - no one seemed to comply to rules of the school, and she had caught more than a few first and second years roaming Hogsmeade, even though they were not permitted. "Take a seat and be quiet, take out some work to do." She told them, before looking back to the homework in front of her, refocusing until the next person came in at least.

Detention
When Archer had gotten back to school from Diagon Alley, a devastating note had been waiting for him.
He had gotten an Owl for detention! He had never thought this would happen, but it just had. He was to come to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom after classes were finished, and Archer was happy to comply. He had never once before gotten into detention, but, there was a first time for everything, right? Just the feeling of getting and Owl for doing something against the rules (he hadn't known it at the time) was nerve-wracking, and Archer knew in his gut that he would be way more careful from now on.
He sighed, and prepared to go to detention.
-
Archer stood nervously outside the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, and peeked in. The teacher was sitting there, grading a students homework. No one else was visible. Now he just had to go in.
Gathering courage, Archer crept around and into the classroom. The teacher looked up, and unimpressed look on her face. Archer's comic persona inside his head gave a wail at the look, and dramatically fell over as if fainting.
"Take a seat and be quiet, take out some work to do." she said next. Thankfully, she got back to work after the few words, ignoring him.
In response to these words, Archer sat down at a seat next to the draped windows, looking at them curiously. Deciding it was none of his business he took out some Herbology homework (his favourite subject, this should go well) and got to work.
It didn't take too long before another student joined him in the classroom, and sat sheepishly next to him.

Detention
Mia walked into the room, unhappy. Her whole day had sucked, and on top of that, she had gotten detention. Great. Mia tried to smile halfheartedly and only partially succeeded. She entered and sat down at a desk near the front.
Take a seat and be quiet, take out some work to do."
Her professor spoke up, and Mia sighed.
"Merlin's pants. This is awesome."
Mia said this under her breath, plopping down on her seat. She had been caught getting ice cream in Diagon Alley. How she was caught? She had no idea. She had just been enjoying her ice cream peacefully, not harming anyone, when Leonie Scheinberg came in and disrupted it. It was really a Merlin's Pants situation.
Mia sighed, looking up at the ceiling. She took her work out, half finished potions homework, and blew a strand of hair from out of her face. She started writing down the answers, pausing periodically to look up at the doorway. Either everyone was late (except for Archer) or she was just early. Or she was going to be on this room for an hour and no one else was going to be here to keep her company (except one hufflepuff) while Leonie stared at her papers and Mia stared at hers.
Wow. This was really going to be a living hell.

This was going to be amazing
Back in the fens, grandfather had dished out more punishments than Kaegen could possibly count, but they all had one thing in common. They made him stronger, a lot stronger. They presented him with new and interesting challenges that never failed to open wide new horizons. They hurt him, he couldn't pretend they had been pleasant, but the possibilities here would be endless. If he was lucky, she might make him scrub the floors, he could search for secrets on the floorboards, organize shelves or take out the trash. Most things he could think of were good things, things he looked forward to. Whipping or being beaten was an exception to that rule, he really didn't want that to happen. But honestly, even that made him stronger. He could live with that punishment. Another reason he was happy is the a professor had finally caught him. He was starting to get worried that the professors spent their days with a blindness curse cast on them, assuming there was such a thing as a blindness curse. He thought back to that girl that had the plastic eye-scales curse and wondered if it was the same kind of spell that he had suspected the professors were under. They never noticed it when death witches infiltrated the school, they didn't care when he almost died that one time. The fact that he was here meant that they did have some semblance of awareness, which gave the young ravenclaw some hope, at least. Hope was a scarcity in the fens, but he was feeling more and more of it as time went on here at Hogwarts. He already knew what was going to happen. The professor would be angry and dole out some horrible punishment, he would somehow endure, hanging on to life by a thread as she stabbed his legs or broke his fingers one by one, she would hate him for the rest of the year and he would be forced to work harder to escape her boot. He would eventually make it and be much stronger than he could have been otherwise. The arrangement made him happy, it was things like these that gave the boy hope.
He swung the door open, eyes wincing as he heard the slight creak. He was carrying a small bag full of paper and experimental runes that the professor had said he could bring in an OWL. It also had severl other items that most would deem extremely dangerous, but today would be a day of experimentation, learning, and chaos. His wand couldn't be seen by his side, safely tucked away on a holster, carried by one of the numerous straps and belts that adorned the clothes he wore under his robes. It was accompanied by his hunting slingshot and a few stones, as well as numerous other odds and ends he had found during his random adventures. It was a little boy's collection of sticks and leaves and feathers and cool knick nacks, as well as some crudely carved animals. There were even a few knives and assorted blades that found their home among the odd containers strapped to his body, out of sight. He wasn't worried about any of them being found, it was pretty obvious he had a lot of things under his robes but it had never been a problem before. It's not like anything he had was illegal, she wouldn't take it even if it was strapped to the outside. He had them all hidden away because that's how they always were, he didn't feel right without the comfortable feeling of leather straps on his skin. He had left his walking umbrella staff in a safe place. That, he knew, would be taken if the professor ever found out what it was. It was his greatest weapon and tool, his escape route if anything should happen. But he wasn't going to be able to escape this, so it was more or less pointless. He would retrieve it when this was over, and not before.
The professor was seated at her desk, and there were already two people in the room. It was disappointing that he hadn't been first to detention, but it couldn't have been helped. He had been busy trying a new way to render a victim helpless by using a spell he learned in this very class. He had been struck with a good idea, and had wanted to finish before he arrived in detention. He almost felt bad for the other two students, knowing full well how brutal this detention would be. He saw it as a happy opportunity, true. But he didn't see it that way when it came to others. For them he saw this as a punishment, they might not survive, how strong were they? But those thoughts were quickly dampened by the ever present voice that reminded him that he owed them nothing. They could die and his world would keep revolving the same as ever. He wasn't the best at controlling his emotions like grandfather taught him, being only 11 year old. But it helped that be didn't really know what emotions were, not really anyway. He knew of anger and fear, of happiness and sadness but not how they effected other people.
His eyes never stopped moving, looking at as many different things as he could, and his steps were fluid and silent. Every motion the boy made was completely devoid of sudden movements, smooth and natural. His grey scarf was nestled up close around his neck, where it had been resting for the past several years. He hadn't taken it off once during all that time, loosening it a little in the shower to be more able to wash underneath it, and washing the scarf while it was still around his neck. It was perfectly clean, except for a barely legible ink smudge at the bottom of one of the ends. It had washed out a little, but not too much. The ink clinging desperately to the soft light fabric.
Kaegen approached a desk, but didn't sit down, choosing instead to stand up in between the chair and the desk, eyes roaming the room. He tried to remember the name of the girl, her seeming slightly familiar, but failed. It had something to do with mice, didn't it? It wasn't really important anyway.
His eyes widened as a wonderful, wonderful thought started to take root in his mind.
What if they got to clean the pens of dangerous creatures? What if they got to contain them? What if they got sent in the forest on vague pretenses with no hope of return?
A glorious smile, that didn't seem quite right, being slightly too maniacal for the normal happy grin of a 11 year old spread across his face.

Detention
Never had she ever expected herself to be found there. She had always thought of herself as a stellar student, someone who never got into trouble, someone who abided by all the rules. To be frank, Rhea didn’t even consider what she’d done breaking a rule - sure, technically, it was, but it was for the greater good! Rhea only wanted to cheer up her friends by taking them to Hogsmeade. She didn’t mean to have them end up in detention. And not only that - they had detention with Professor Scheinberg, who in Rhea’s eyes, wasn’t all too friendly. The professor struck the redhead as more of a … how do they call it… a lone wolf. Someone who didn’t like the presence of others. Yet, here the professor sat, hosting detention as more and more students flood into the classroom.
Well, at least she would have her friends with her. She could probably talk to them the entire time, in an attempt not to run off screaming in boredom. Seriously, what was the point of detention? Other than a waste of time, and the wrath of her parents, it did nothing good! But then again, it was detention - detention wasn’t supposed to be good. Cut the girl some slack! She’s eleven, she thought everything has to be fun.
The moment she entered the room, it seemed as if all life had been sucked out from her. Perhaps it was the glaring professor, the other students who were already there. Or maybe it was because she had to spend the next hour or so of her life, scraping gum off of the bottoms of chairs. Honestly, Rhea was too scared of the professor to object, so she decided to show her discontent in a different way - annoy the professor to no extent.
A wicked grin grew on her face as she entered the room. Neither Eris nor Serena were there yet, although she guessed they would be arriving soon. They were smart enough to know not to ditch detention with Professor Scheinberg, the scariest professor at Hogwarts. It certainly didn’t help that the subject she taught was dark, and taught in a dark classroom. It gave Rhea shivers just thinking about it.
Making sure to keep a wide smile on her face--in hopes of showing the professor that no matter how miserable she tried to make the redhead, Rhea would come back--the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts was quickly approached. Rhea even managed to skip, very exaggeratedly. Finally, once she reached the desk where Scheinberg was resting, her tone was a very light and bubbly one.
"Where would you like me to start, professor?” Rhea asked, masking her true annoyance with a grin. She waited for an answer, casting looks over her shoulder as she waited for someone else to enter. She really wanted someone to talk to - someone to cast a prank with. Maybe the boy in the bag, the one holding a bag, would do. Rhea would have to find out later.

Detention
Wesley had received a letter a few hours ago from a professor, stating the horrible. Wesley was shivering in his skin to know what they would do to him; lock a handcuff around one wrist and lock the other cuff onto a hook from a height so he would be dangling. He approached the place he was to go, not realising what he had done had a price to pay, feeling ashamed, and showed it with a hunched back and dragging heels. He walked into the (in his mind) terrifying Detention room; there he would wait for the professor’s orders and would unwillingly - but would have to show he was willing - perform the task that was set.
Wesley continued to walk forward, feeling as though a grey cloud was perched over his head of curly hair and thick drops of water began to fall onto the stone floor, getting his uniform and hair wet in the process. Obviously, that was not real, not in real life, at Hogwarts it was most probably possible, but Wes didn’t want to focus on that part; he wanted to focus on what dreadful thing the professors in charge of detention would make him do. That was the bit of the whole Detention Scheme that he wasn’t a big fan of - he just wasn’t a fan of Detention, let’s say.
He walked into Detention, his eyes glued to the space in front of him so he could see where he was going; he didn’t want to show that this was a recurring nightmare in his mind he would daydream about (I guess you could call it a daymare) in class usually, or at the dinner table back home. He walked over to one of the professors, his lip quivering, and looked at their nose; it was quite unusual for Wesley to look someone in the eye - he found it quite frightful. “What should I do, Professor?” He asked in a voice that seemed to be confident (but obviously it was just a mask, considering how Wesley was).

Detention
Every action had a consequence. Eris had figured that out after being fired from her prefect role, but yet the knowledge gained from that lesson hadn't really sunk in yet. Clearly it hadn't, as the young girl had found herself with an owl from the Sytherin head of house and Professor of Defense Against the Dark arts. The new teacher was scary. She was not sleepy and grumpy like Sawyer Mellowrose had been. Instead, she was cold and cynical, with a terrifying scar on her face. She was honestly the kind of person that Eris feared. She was like a villain out of a story book. But then again, one always had to stand up against villains.
It was crazy, really, that after all of her crimes, one of the Professors had finally busted her. It was now time for Eris's first ever detention, a fact that scared Eris. She had never been in big trouble before, but there was a first time for everything. This had been a year of first anyways. First friends, first years, first time using magic, and first time in detention.
It was Rhea's fault, really. She had forced Eris and Serena to go to shopping with her. Eris had agreed though, secure in the knowledge that a professor wouldn't find them. Eris had snuck out three times, and now was facing one detention. Maybe it was best to just wait for third year. Then maybe she could go to the Three Broomsticks and get a butterbeer without worrying about getting in trouble. Although it was Rhea's fault that Eris had gotten detention, she couldn't find it in herself to be mad at her friend. She had agreed to go with Rhea. That meant something, and plus, Eris didn't want to ruin another friendship by bickering.
She had already lost too many friends this year, and cleaning up gum was a perfect way to bond! Right..? Probably not. How did someone get gum anyways? They didn't even sell it in Hogsmade, nor could Eris find it at the tables in the great hall. It was an injustice that there was no gum in the castle, and yet, they still had to clean it off. In fact, Eris strongly believed that the Professor had summoned up gum from god knows where just to torture her students by making them clean it up.
Dinner had been a quiet affair, as Rhea and Eris both prepared for their first detention. Sabrina was nowhere to be found, and neither were Max and Dorian. Where was Dorian when you needed him? He could probably give Eris some tips on detention, having been in detention more times than Eris could count. Stupid Richie. Thank god Aubren wasn't around. She would of thrown mashed potatoes at Eris, or something horrible like that as punishment for landing herself in detention./
After dinner, Eris had made the perilous journey to he Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, running late per usual. The door was open, when she arrived there. Heart beating in her chest, Eris suddenly realized just how nervous she was to be facing her first ever detention. At least she would have Rhea. That did make things better, having a friend to suffer with you. Maybe they could spend the time talking, or working on homework.
Eris peered through the open door and raised an eyebrow. To say she was surprised to see an array of faces would be an understatement. The school had waaay too many trouble makers, and Eris was shocked to see the sheer mass of children attempting to recreate the golden trio. The hair-rasist Professor was sitting at her desk, and Eris's friend and room mate was standing by the desk. Kaegen was in the room as well, smiling maniacally. Eris rubbed at her neck, remembering Kaegen's owl. He had asked her for fire works to set off in detention. Eris had promised to bring them, but had decided against it. She was in enough trouble already, and didn't want to make things worse for herself.
A bunch of other students were in the room, but Eris had no idea who they were. Ignoring everybody but her friend standing by the professor's desk, Eris walked up next to Rhea, then decided better. The Professor looked angry enough already.
Looking around the room, Eris found most of the students sitting raptly in their chairs, staring at the blonde Professor. Following the lead of the other students, Eris took a seat in the back of the room, resting her hands on the two nearby desks. The message was clear. These seats are taken.
Willing Rhea to turn around and take the seat next to Eris, Eris turned to look at the other young delinquents of the school. They didn't look particularity remarkable. Just like normal students. Groaning, Eris leaned back in her seat, not removing her hands from the neighboring desks.
This was going to be a long hour or two. However long detention was. Eris had no idea. She felt a rush of tiredness course through her, and let out a tired yawn. Could you sleep in detention? Heck, what even was detention? The homeschooled girl had never even heard of detention, besides in whispers by Aubren and Dorian. All she knew is that you got it from doing 'bad things', and that scary professors ran it. Besides that, Eris's mind was blissfully blank of information.
Maybe Rhea would know about detention, when she came back to sit by Eris. Making a mental note to ask her fellow red head about detention, Eris stretched out her shoulders. It was getting kind of boring, having her hands on the two desks, and it was irritating to stretch her small arms out so far. Rhea couldn't come over any sooner. What was she doing, talking to the Professor? Turning away from the back of other students head's Eris studied her friend and the Professor. Maybe she could get a hint about what was going on from the body posture of her friend.

Detention
He had gotten his first detention in Hogwarts. But you know Detention can be fun at some points. He got to the room and looked at the Head of House already people had gotten here and were whispering to each other. He sat down and took out some books from his bag. "This is going to be great he thought to himself."
He looked over at the Head of House and the other students that were messing around and not doing there school stuff. He wasn't very fond of the new Head of House she was mean and grumpy not even like Sawyer he was really nice to me. He quickly was not fond of detention it was boring and still out f all the things he did he got caught for buying ice cream in Diagon Alley. It was outrages and a misunderstanding.
Why would a professor care about such things it was stupid to see a professor waist there time with students that have already been doing this for when the school started. He didn't even want to think about it anymore it was a waste of thought too. He looked around to find Keagen Deathmote smiling at everyone. Just a second could he Snap,Crackle Pop out of here?

Detention
Verla looked down as she entered detention. She wasn't one to get detention ever. This is what you get Verla when you decide to be someone your not she told herself. She never thought of getting caught in the Restricted Section, until she found what she wanted. but she had given the book back and that was all that mattered to her, besides losing house points, which she felt awful for.
But she took responsibility and sat down at a desk and worked on some homwork. She didn't know if she would be cleaning or if she would jsut be sitting there the entire time. She didn't want to do anything else wrong in detention, so she huged herself and bit her lip to stop her from crying. She didn't want to be there. but she didn't want to lose house points. When she finished she got out her sketch book, and quietly drew the teacher behind her desk as she was. She drew down every little detail of her, including her glass eye. Verla smirked slightly as she drew the teacher, though she didn't do anything to disrespect the teacher, she sought it funny a bit to show her at the end of detention, just to see what she would do.

Detention
It hadn't been long since Serena received an owl from the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, caught for sneaking out to Hogsmeade multiple times. One of them was a while back now, whilst the other happened more recently. Either way, she was a little bit relieved. The Professor claimed that it was for the safety of the children - and honestly, she wholeheartedly agreed at this point in time. If she had it her way, she would never leave her dorm room. Let alone go out of the castle!
After the terrors of the Hufflepuff camp out, Serena had spent a long time recovering. She had physically recovered enough to walk around but mentally, she really did not feel ready to go anywhere, especially not alone or in the dark. However, she had a really tough time saying no to people. In particular her friends. When Rhea seemed so excited about taking her dress shopping, Serena had no choice but to agree. There was a deep seeded fear within her that told her they should not leave the castle. But she foolishly ignored it, for the happiness of her friends. They were, after all, just doing it to try and cheer her up too.
With Professor Leonie's owl, however, she now had the perfect excuse to never leave the castle again. She could just claim that she did not want to get into further trouble with the Professor. It was, simply put, a brilliant plan. Serena did not know the professor well but she knew she seemed quite scary. No one would question it, it was the best plan to remain safe within these four walls.
Of course, the Hufflepuff camp out took place on the grounds here - with a Head of House around - but that's not the point. It was still, perhaps, safer to be in Hogwarts than outside of it. Who knew what dangers lurked outside.
Serena knocked on the door before entering the room. She walked in, with the owl she had received from the professor in her hand. Hearing the professor's instructions, she nodded quietly. She would have made a noise to show she was acknowledging the instructions but she was told to be quiet. It only made sense to just sit down without a fuss.
Grabbing a seat, she glanced around the room. There were a lot of familiar faces, including the two of her friends who went dress shopping with her. Rhea was standing by the teacher's desk, asking her something. Oh God, what's Rhea up to now? She pondered, not sure if she should laugh or cry at this point in time. She definitely thought the girl was up to something, though... Serena just wanted to know what she was asking her. Nonetheless, Serena had finally gotten what she wanted - some peace and quiet to study and a good excuse to stay indoors. She just wished that her friends had not got caught in it too. Maybe I could claim that I forced them to come with me...? Would that help? It was unlikely to have made a difference as the professor would claim that they still came and didn't stop her... But it may be worth a try...
Serena silently pondered it as she got out some of her DADA homework. Maybe if she got a chance, she would try to get them out of this... They definitely did not deserve to be here. They were just trying to do her a favour.
Serena deserved to be here, however. She had been hospitalised for around a week and missed all of the classes in that time. She was still playing catch up. This was a great time to start doing just that. Unlike her friends, she actually really wanted to be here. She had accepted what she did was wrong, she should have known better. If anything, this was a great opportunity to work hard and get some of the homework done... There was, after all, a lot of it to do. Before the camp out, she had not cared so much about studying. Being studious was not important to her. Unfortunately, the results of her lack of knowledge had showed. Although she successful cast the spell, she had failed to dodge the attacks and more importantly, she had failed to protect her friends.
Her failures made her a burden on those she loved. It was time to stop being a burden to people. It was time to stop getting them in trouble, putting their lives at risk or being weak. This was now the time to embrace the one Hufflepuff quality she never really had. She was always loyal, fair and patient... but hardworking was not something she did. The night of the camp out and her time in the hospital changed everything. Serena was no longer afraid of toil. She would embrace it, she would work as hard as she had to so she could get there. Wherever there was...
