Why did Hogwarts have to be so big? And why did there have to be so many bloody stairs? It was just too much! Having to carry everything in between classes! Why couldn't there be lockers? Or even the weird cubbies Sage talked about having at Muggle school…Oh yeah! Because the castle was so damn big that's why!
He groaned, pressing up against the wall of the corridors as students went to and fro to give his poor shoulders a break, dumping the heavy messenger bag on the ground. Instant relief. This is what happened with a bag that only had a single leather strap but it wasn't like he could use his normal backpack he’d gotten with Sage, after all he hadn’t fixed the hole in it yet. Using the messenger bag was pretty horrible though, Elsian didn't think his shoulder could take another week of this, maybe he could fix the backpack this weekend? Sighing he shifted one of the loose books in his arm. He was getting rather tired of not being able to fit all his books in this one…
Break was over. Scuffing a shoe against the floor Elsian shoved himself off the wall, halfheartedly grabbing the bag to lug over his arm and balance the 2 history books under his left as he began walking. Rather than fully melting into the crowd he kept to the sides, carefully avoiding brushing shoulders and pointy elbows as he tried to get to the stairs. So focused on avoiding the heavy bag of a passing oblivious 1st year bashing into his side he failed to realize just how hollow the wall beyond a threadbare tapestry was. His hand going through the fabric and Elsian disappearing from view with nothing but the soft rustle of the tapestry falling back into place to show for it.
“Ow!” He hissed.
Falling past the tapestry he fell into the small hollow space, dropping the books under his arm he was barely able to brace himself against the cold stone walls before he fully bashed into the unforgiving stone.
Confused, he straightened. “What…” A few moments later the oddness faded away as he looked around, eyeing the tarp and the ground, “where did-” there his foot bumped into one of his history books. The red cover slightly obscured under the tarp.
“Huh.” Snatching it up he ducked through the tarp; the crowd of students slowed to a sluggish crawl and then a rather empty corridor in the blink of an eye. Or in this case, the time of a fall.
Blinded by the tarp as he ducked through, he’d miss seeing a certain Ravenclaw walking by until it was too late. Their body slammed into him as he tried to straighten and this time all Elsian could do was drop the book and abandon the strap of his bag slipping off to throw an arm out behind him to slightly cushion his head. Briefly, he got to witness the sight of his missing book as the mystery person slipped on it and in a moment of clarity got his free arm to grab the other person before she hit her head on the wall, sending them both sprawling on the ground in a mess of books and papers.
A moment passed. And then another as he groaned in pain, rubbing his arm before lightly shoving the girl's elbow away from where it’d jammed into his side as he sat up… jostling her as he pushed her off.
“M’sorry,” he hissed, wincing. “Are you okay?”

@Elsian CoxBooks were great, but also heavy. Especially if you were carrying a tower of ten of them in your arms and seven of them in your schoolbag, while you are trying to make your way through the crowded hallway. That was something Samantha realized when she was doing just that. Walking twice or asking somebody's help was not something the young girl wanted to do. To avoid the said scenarios she had stuffed her bag with all the books that could fit in it and she had stacked the remaining ones.
She was already halfway from the library to the Ravenclaw tower and hadn't dropped a thing, though she was exhausted. The brunette wasn't sure how she would get up the stairs to the Ravenclaw tower, but she hoped she would figure something out before then. Right now she needed to focus on not dropping a thing.
Her wand moved dangerously on the pile of books in her hands. Normally the young girl had her wand in her bag, but today the books had taken its place. Samantha paid more attention to her wand than her surroundings. After all, the other students had eyes and her wand didn't. Her wand couldn't stop itself from falling, but other students should be able to stop themselves from hitting her.
In a hurry to get her books in the Ravenclaw tower and still be on time in her next class, Samantha didn't notice an idiotic boy's book laying on the ground and the girl slipped over it. The world around her became vague as she fall backward with her head heading for the wall. Her books and wand slipped away from her and landed on the ground around her as gravity did its job. Samantha didn't realize what was happening, but luckily somebody else did. She could feel a hand grabbing her before she hit the wall.
It had all happened so fast that she didn't have any time to see who her hero was. Samantha looked up as the boy apologized and asked if she was okay. "I'm okay, but my books and-" She had been looking at the faintly familiar boy while talking but hadn't been able to place him. She knew she knew him and when the realization hit her face turned to horror. It was spider boy! The wand thief! The idiot who thought he could decide what would happen with her wand. The boy she had told she was a pureblood. Her head turned red and she immanently looked away, using her long brown her to shield her face from the boy.

Elsian blinked owlishly, taking in the messy destruction their little collision had wrought with a hint of disgruntled awe. Truly the mess of books and papers was impressive, what in its own twisted sort of way. If it hadn't hurt so much, and oh had it left a fine bruise or two, well, it might've even been funny. As it stood? The mess of books and clutter was just an annoyance to clean up.
Shifting up onto his knees Elsi made to grab one of the stray quills and a familiar looking book, one he was sure he’d read last year for class; it looked fine…Not a tear or ink stain in sight. “They’re pretty sturdy books,” he offered, handing the book over, “they seem fine, I wouldn't worry too much.” Little mercies. He didn't want to be the one explaining a ruined book to the librarian, it was a detention waiting to happen. Granted, it wasn't too much of a surprise, the fact was he wouldn't have put it past the staff to have enchanted the books just to keep the bloody things fireproof!
There were too many pyromaniacs in this school as is. Honestly, it was kinda alarming.
Luckily for the both of them no fragile inkwells seemed to have been broken, or perhaps carried in the first place. Unluckily, everything he’d been carrying had been thrown out of order. His homework, notes, books, it looked like at least half of his bag had been spilled in the fall and upon grabbing his now light bag he was proven right. That was not gonna be fun to deal with later tonight.
“Ah man...”
Breathing out a sigh under his breath he stuffed a few of the papers into one of his books before shoving it into the bottom of his bag. It was hard not to be a bit annoyed by this whole thing, but he bit back any dramatics for the moment. He was trying hard not to let it get to him. He was not going to get upset over this. It was fine, nothing had been ruined, just a few crumpled papers, ruined day and bruises; he was fine. It was with the can-do attitude in denying his problems that he ignored the tiny voice in the back of his head dreading the future organizing and instead stacked two books together, for the first time realizing just how many books there were. Over half of these were not his that much was for certain; who even needed these many books in a week let alone day?
Surprise painted across his face, green eyes squinted in confused curiosity as he grabbed another book, stacking the green covers he tried to separate the others stuff from his own. There must have been at least like, a dozen books that were just hers!
“How do you even have this many books?” he questioned, voice tilting in wry awe. How had she carried them?
Another book was piled up, this time red and he eyed the colorful stack with mounting wariness as it wavered, peering up at the girl in disbelief. “Could you even see where you were going?” He demanded, curious.
And huh-
She...kinda looked familiar?
Or at least, he thought she did? He couldn't be sure when she was angling her head to frame her face like some kinda of rip off ghost girl.

@Elsian CoxHow stupid could the boy be, it was like he didn't even recognize her. Actually, it was no surprise, of course, the wand thief didn't recognize her, he was the biggest idiot she had ever met. Okay, the second biggest idiot, since the first spot was already taken by Cassandra.
The boy handed her a book, which she quickly snatched out of his hand. He shouldn't be touching her belongings. You never knew it with him, maybe he decided to steal it again. It seemed he was just trying to help, but Samantha didn't care. "I am not worried about my books," she said harshly with a voice filled with hate.
The brunette started to collect her books, which were scattered all around the two, and she still tried to avoid looking at spiderman spider boy. She quietly placed the books she had already collected on a pile, ready to lift them and run away as fast as possible. Most of her books were still lost between the notes of the boy, her owl quills (or maybe they were his, she wasn't sure), and some other stuff.
She became frustrated because she couldn't find her favorite quill and the boy started asking questions. She couldn't find the dark blue quill, which her friend had gifted her at Christmas, and snapped at the boy. It was all his fault and he was asking her stupid questions. "There is this thing called a library where there are books you can borrow," she answered annoyed, still trying to find her quill which was laying somewhere on the ground. "I guess you don't know what a library is because you are way too stupid to read." She threw a rude comment his way as she continued searching for her quill.
When she couldn't find the quill, she started stacking her books again. She was surrounded by her books and everywhere she looked there was one. The pile grew with every book she added and the boy couldn't keep himself from commenting. "I could see just fine where I was going until YOU decided to run into ME."
She had had enough of this stupid spider boy. "Can you just stop talking? It's not like you have anything useful to say anyway," she hadn't even collected all of her stuff and she was already pissed. "Or maybe you want to call me a danger to others again?" she said as she looked up, locking her blue eyes into the boy's green eyes. Her eyes were filled with hate and her face showed exactly how angry she was.

Well, someone was awfully cheerful today weren't they.
Nose wrinkling at the girls rudeness he huffed quietly packing away another book into the leather bag. There was having a bad day, and then there was having a really bad day and if she seemed to suffer the latter if the way she seemed to practically hiss her words at him like some feral cat was anything to go by. Talk about harsh.
Elsian was suddenly loath to hand over anything personally. Would she try to bite his head off the moment he did? He wondered.
A stifling heaviness was quick to grow in the one-sided silence. The crinkling of papers, the hushed thuds of books and clicks of quill tips hitting the stone floor lingering between the two students shuffling through the littered mess. But for every parchment of homework or torn paper of notes and sketches there was something of the catty girls that he had to push aside, and it made the work seem infinitely harder and longer as he stared down owl quills that he wasn't quite sure were his or not.
He couldn't find his Astronomy homework, even with the mostly gathered pile he’d skimmed through and thrown between the pages of his books. And the very notion of having to redo the stupid thing all over again was enough to make him want to cry. Honestly, he might just to get pity points from Logan to get help. He hated that class and it'd taken forever and as he picked up a familiar metal tipped quill and then a decidedly less familiar blue one the girls increasingly annoying voice almost had him breaking the stupid things out of anger!
“It was just a question.” Jeez.
“And I already said sorry,” his tone tipped on the edge of yelling. Barely, Elsian held his temper, and the bitter words hanging on the tip of his tongue just begging to be said. Though as he shoved a pair of books more harshly than needed towards her, her words finally broke any lingering civilness left between them because he knew that annoying tone of self-entitled, know it all, empty headed prick anywhere!
“Could have fooled me. Seem awfully short with that stack practically hitting the top of your big head!”
He was seething inside. Green eyes narrowed dangerously in a glare and lips turned up into a sneer dripping distaste all aimed at the Feather Brain; he looked at her like one would a pest. At that moment? She was.
“In fact!” Bringing up the blue quill he made as if to take notes, peering at her over the edge of a book and paper with a cold smile. “If im so stupid maybe I should be taking notes from you!” Tittering in a mockingly pleasant tone he twirled the quill with an elegant swish, “do you tutor stupidity lessons on weekends or is that when you cover the art of being a dunderhead?”
Blue and green eyes looked together. Sam staring with a heated hate that left the Gryffindor giving a cruel mock of a laugh. It felt bitter.
“Dunno, might have to put up a warning sign if your ego’s contagious. You carrying anything but feathers in that big head of yours bird brain?”

@Elsian CoxNormally Samantha didn't run away from her problems, but this time was different. She wanted to get as far away from his boy, who had seen her break down over his pet. For him, it was his lovely spider pet, but for Samantha, it had been a reminder of a traumatic experience. The young girl didn't want to think back to the day the two had met or the night of the attack. She knew, if she did, she would relive it. Her heart would start racing, her hands would start sweating, her throat would be close and she would freeze. She would freeze until her mind had made up whether to flee or to fight.
She didn't want that to happen, so she reformed all the pain from her head to hate. She blamed the boy for everything that had happened. The stupid idiotic boy was now telling her "it was just a question". "Sure." A roll with her eyes was followed by her collecting some more of her things. Well, she thought it was hers, but it was the boy's Astronomy homework.
Samantha tried to stuff the homework, a few quills, and a couple of books back in her bag, but it didn't fit. When she had first placed it in her bag, she had done it carefully and now she was in a hurry to get away from this stupid boy. Still sitting on the ground, she struggled with getting the book in her bag before giving up and placing it on the already huge pile of books.
As the boy told her she could have fooled him, she laughed sarcastically. "If you were able to see me so well, and know exactly what and how much I was carrying, then why were you still so blind to walk into me? " she asked a rhetorical question, trying to prove how stupid the boy was. She continued collecting her stuff, which the book had moved to one side for some random reason. The idea of the boy touching her things made her even more annoyed. How dare he, after everything he had done?
"I am sorry, kid," she said if she were talking to a four-year-old. "But you aren't worth saving. To be completely honest, I don't even think you can be saved, no matter how many classes you take." It was only then that she looked at him and noticed a familiar quill in his hands. Her eyes narrowed as she took a good look at the quill, making sure it was hers. The golden details showed that it indeed was hers and the book was stealing again.
She got up from her knees as she yelled: "you thief!" The cute little girl now didn't look so cute anymore. She made her way through the mess on the floor, which was almost cleaned up, straight to the boy. With a hateful look, she snatched her quill out of his hand. "Maybe you should give classes to upcoming thieves, though I am not sure if they will learn a lot from you." she said as she made her way back to her bag and hid her quill in it. "You aren't doing the best job with stealing, probably just as horrible of a job as with the rest of your life. Your parents must be so disappointed to have you as a son. But you know what they say: those who can't, teach."
How stupid was this boy, seriously? She thought it couldn't get much worse. It was clear that her intelligence was superior to his, no doubt. "You really are stupid, no?" What's on Samantha's mind is what she says. She knew the boy said it to annoy her, but she just had to make some things clear. "First of all, I do not have feathers in my brain, that's impossible. I don't know who taught you that, maybe you idiotic parents. I mean to have such a stupid child they must be idiots as well." The idea of leaving as fast as possible had changed. She wasn't going to let this stupid boy say things like this and then leave, no way. "Secondly, if I have feathers in my brain, which is impossible, but I will just go with your stupid idea for once, that would mean your brain is empty. Because it is clear that I am at least ten times smarter than you. And I know it might be hard for you to see, but it is the truth and I don't hide the truth, not even from idiots like you."

He shook his head in mock disappointment, tsking at the rhetoric. A little too predictable to hurt his feelings, -1 point to Ravenclaw.
She did realize she's practically admitted to being an idiot with that ‘insult’ right? On top of it all the birdbrain had honest to Merlin said he was too smart to take her stupidity classes; that was…that wasn't even good sarcasm. It was just sad. Another point taken against her horrendous backtalk.
He snickered, shaking his head, “So you admit it then.”
And oh, oh Merlin was she-
Was…was she being serious right now?
There was no way she wasn't being sarcastic right? No one was that slow, and yet, with every word that came out of her mouth the idea that she was taking the sarcasm literally seemed- well, a very real possibility. He couldn't even get upset over it! That's how bizarre it was! She was either dumb enough to take everything way too literal or the absolute worst at back talk he'd ever had the displeasure of listening to; if he could he’d burn the words from his memory in a heartbeat. As it stood her sarcasm was so lame, he wanted to grit his teeth in secondhand embarrassment.
Had she spoken like this to other people? God, he hoped not.
“Are you honestly as stupid as you sound or are you just feeling extra slow today?“
He scoffed, matching the scornful glare with a look of his own. “Who would need classes up against an airhead like you?” Nobody probably. Grabbing the last of his papers he swept them into his bag as he stood up, holding on of the last books he couldn't fit and about to shrug past the girl to snatch up the last of his things from behind the stupid tapestry. Feet stopping short the boy paused, grip tightening on the book till it felt like it might groan under the strain.
How dare she.
“At least I'm not the maniac girl who cried pureblood.”
Spinning on his heel to eye the girl he spat, “tell me, are your ego filled breakdowns common or am I special blue blood?”
Without waiting he threw the fabric back, revealing the little alcove and the smallest peek of a wand poking out from underneath his spell book. Scooping up the items he stuffed the wand into his robe pocket, stashing his book and what felt like one of his notebooks under his arm with the other as he shouldered the newly heavy bag with a noiseless grunt.
Why was he wasting his time on a nobody like her anyways?

@Elsian CoxShe rolled her eyes when he asked if she admitted it. "The only thing I admit is that you are stupid, but I guess you are too dumb to realize that. The only classes I would ever teach are classes for which you need to have a normal functioning brain and you don't fit in that category," she said annoyed.
Spider boy needed to go on about his stupid idea of her teaching stupid classes for some stupid reason. The only stupid person here is him, Samantha thought as she collected her last books. The chaos around the two students was slowly disappearing as they both gathered their stuff. Well, the things they thought were theirs. The brunette didn't notice it when the boy placed her blue notebook, which functioned as her diary, in her bag.
Did he really just go there? Did he really have to remind her of the fact that she had told him she was pureblood? Samantha told herself that he was just a stupid boy and his opinion was just as stupid as him, there was no reason to listen to him. But still, for one second the shame she felt could be seen on her face. It quickly disappeared as she looked the boy in his eyes. "At least I don't have a blood-thirsty spider."
Her ego-filled breakdowns? "How dare you!" she said as her blood started to boil. "It is none of your business! Focus on your own life, which is as pathetic as it can get!" She had no clue about the boy's life, but that didn't stop her from talking about it. "That your life is so bad doesn't mean you can ruin mine with your killer pet!" she said as she looked at him with hate in her eyes. She quickly collected the last things that were laying on the ground, thinking it was all hers. She quickly threw all the things in her bag, afraid the thief would steal something from her again.

Oh sure. Bloodthirsty spider.
What a joke. Like spinning a web was the peak of killer intent! Wasn't like she tried to freaking flipendo someone's innocent pet or anything!
He rolled his eyes scoffing in annoyance; it was a miracle they didn't roll right outta his skull. They just might if he had to keep listening to her though, this girl was seriously getting on his nerves. It was all how dare he this, scary spider that; she sounded like a broken record blaming him for something that hadn't even happened! Kitty wasn't dangerous. She never even touched the Ravenclaw or her stupid bird.
And ruining her life? Oh nonono. He could do much worse given the chance.
But Featherhead seemed to be doing that just fine all on her own. But why not embrace whatever hysteric fueled fantasy was rotting in her head? Girl was already stuck in denial anyways so it wasn't like whatever he said mattered. No way the bird brain was gonna get common sense anytime soon either, airheaded as she was.
"Don't tempt me." He said with all the flourish of a dead fish. "
After all, pathetic people like me have to get our kicks somewhere." It wasn't totally off the mark either, not when it came to her anyways. Given the chance he'd have thrown her wand in the bird bath a hundred more times. A more petty, ugly part of him regrets the fact her wand hadn't been broken in half that time.
Twisting on his heel Elsian began to wander away; one didn't need to say goodbye or be polite towards a Featherhead after all. It wouldn't be until much later he'd realize that his wand wasn't quite as he remembered it and even longer before understanding the absolute gem of a book he had tucked under his arm. But that would be for later. After a healthy dose of panic and a very, very brief struggle of morals.

@Elsian CoxDon't tempt him? Did he mean that he could control his spider and use the bloodthirsty animal to harm her? She looked at him with big eyes, a little frightened. Samantha hoped that the idiot couldn't use his huge spider as wapen. What if his spider was even worse than the shadow spiders from the common room? No, that was impossible, right? The wand thief his spider did make black webs...
No, she stopped herself from her weird conspiracy theory. The boy was just trying to make her scared, just like Cash had tried when they told her their pet would eat her alive. The brunette tried to convince herself that the spider couldn't harm her, but it didn't work. Spiders were the scariest animal according to her, so the fact that the boy's pet was a spider made him dangerous as well.
Samantha was quiet until spider boy walked away without saying anything to her. She wouldn't let him go without saying (or in this case, screaming) something, she always wanted to have the last word. "I HOPE YOU STEP ON A LEGO!" she yelled as the boy walked away. "BAREFOOT!" she added, hoping the boy heard her. Stupid boy, he deserved to step on a lego, no doubt on her mind.
The huge pile of books made her realize how stupid it was of her to dump her other stuff in her bag. Now she had to carry even more books in her hands since her back was too chaotic. Well, at least she didn't have to balance her wand on top. Where was her wand, by the way? Samantha quickly checked her back, she had to make sure spider boy didn't steal her wand again. When she opened her bag she could see a wand laying on the bottom. It was hard to see details, but she assumed it was hers, something she would regret a lot later. After the quick check, she took the pile of books and started walking again.
