"Why do you keep calling me Mr. Gray?"
Because that's how she was raised. Because you didn't call others, especially men and boys, by their first name until they granted you permission to do so. Because it made her sound older, more mature. Because it hid the wreck of nerves simmering just beneath the surface. There were lots of different reasons why she did so, but the top one in this scenario was, she felt if she called him Dorian, it sounded like she didn't hate his living guts at the moment.

"Look... I can see you're beneath granting a simple request in return for me being so kind as to bring your book all the way here to you. Clearly, I'm wasting my time and energy here with you. So uhh... Bye?"
Clearly, now he was going to leave- with her notebook. Before she could second-guess herself, she lunged at Dorian, bringing her heel across the back of his knee. He crumpled, and catching him, she re-chambered her leg and blew through his kneecap, probably tearing his ACL while she was at it. Suddenly, she froze, her elbow halfway to his face. Was this what people called going too far? Well, yes, it was standard procedure when you got into a fight- take out the bigger guy's kneecap as fast as possible, then mess up everyone else's faces, but this... Dorian was only one person. She wasn't that mean, nor was she that annoyed. Also, she didn't want to get into too much trouble.

She sighed in annoyance and easily hauled Dorian up so he was leaning on her. "Come on. Let's get you to the Hospital Wing. No arguing. Argue, and I'll blast through your face as well."

As he walked away this time he never bothered to spare the girl another thought, wanting this to be over and done with so he could go back to his dorm and sleep. He hadn't expected her to do what she did next, and her actions today would determine how he approached other Hufflepuffs, and most girls in general, in the coming future. She didn't know it, but all she was doing was making a bitter enemy of the boy, and he would never forget, nor would he allow the assault to rest without reprisal. Ami Procoppio could rest assured that she had just made an enemy for life, one that there would never be any hopes of coming to an understanding with.

He felt the hard edge of the shoe connecting with the back of his neck, and before he could do anything besides fall along with the sheer unexpectedness of her violent show, he was being held tightly. The pain registered in his knee long before he heard the horrible snapping sound and understood what was happening. He cursed his own stupidity. He never expected her to do go this far, over a book no less. Had he not been in so much pain and found that he had lost the use of one of his left leg, he might have grabbed her and indulged in the fight she so clearly wanted. As it was, he would be doing no such thing. Somewhere during the tussle, he had released the book and it had slid somewhere, no more thought being given to the thing in the confusion.

"I warned you. You'll regret this!" he hissed. His position was baseless at present considering she had the upper hand, but that could only last for so long. They were on their way to the hospital wing where questions would surely be asked. Dorian would not rest until this girl was given the highest form of punishment for her crimes against him. For now, he kept his threats to a minimum, realizing that he needed her help in getting there. Biting his lip, he quietly allowed her to help him forward.
