Starlee enjoyed after school events, like the Quidditch Scrimmage from last year. Her team had won, and she actually didn't think she was so bad at being a beater, her fear of heights aside. This time, it was a battle of wands in a dueling free for all.

She had been excited of the prospect and hoped that there would be many people signing up to take on the challenge. She would take any opportunity to get some dueling practice in. Still in her Slytherin robes, she made her way to the dueling club where the clash was to take place.

To her excitement, there were quite a few people there, including some familiar faces. Cash and Henry were the standouts in the crowd when Starlee entered and she walked over to stand next to Cash, greeting them with a "Hey Cash and heya Henry!" as Delilah began to explain the rules. It seemed no different than a regular duel aside from the fact that there were five shiny Galleons on the line.

Of course, just like the summer games, Cash was attempting to make friendships, form truces, and Starlee certainly wanted in on that. There were a few higher years there to be weary of, and if they could come together to take them down, it would give them more time in battle. But this little truce was getting bigger and bigger by the moment and only one of them would be getting the prize money.

But... she also felt like a target. Being on the duelling team meant she had more experience than most, especially with Slytherin's winning streak last year. People would expect more of her.

She stood firmly beside Cash, almost hoping that her being there would be proof of her allegiance to their little group, but also managed to squeak out a quick little "I'm in too!", opposite sounding to the demeanor she was trying to exude. At least for now she would remain loyal - well, forever loyal to Cash - but everyone else, who knew.

Ready for the chaotic duel, Samantha entered the dueling club with a big grin on her face. She had tied her hair back in a low ponytail, so it wouldn't get in her face. She was wearing her favorite dark blue sweater and a pair of blue pants. She hoped that wearing her favorite color would give her the luck she needed to win this duel. If she was being honest, she had no idea what to expect. Sure, she was a duellist, but this was different. More people, more potential targets, and more people who can hit her.

Samantha was used to being the youngest in duels, but now she wasn't. There were a couple of first years, but also a fifth year. The brunette knew half of the students, but to say that she was friends with all of them was impossible. The greatest idiot of all was standing just a few feet away from her.

Samantha giggled when Juniper joked about being on fire. "I hope so too! I will make sure I don't set you on fire," she said with a little smile. When Delilah mentioned teaming up, Samantha liked the idea. In real duels she always had a partner, that was why she turned to Juniper. "Hey, would you like to team up? I mean, there will only be one winner, but we could maybe work together?" She wasn't sure what teaming up in this content would mean, but it sounded better than being alone. "Maybe like not casting spells at each other or something?" The brunette shrugged, you could hear the hesitation in her voice.

Samantha loved the prize. She didn't have that much money and 5 galleons equaled a lot of candy. Cash had decided to be the first one to make a mean remark, of course, Samantha couldn't stay behind. "Hey Cash," she said fake happy, "So you are making up new nicknames? That's great! I actually also came up with a new one after our last meeting." Only Cash would know that Samantha was referring to the little chat they had nine days ago. "It is also animal-themed, isn't that amazing? So, what do you think about: the snake? I could also add whisperer to it, then it would be the snake whisperer, I could even call you SW then." Samantha hoped that the older student would get that she was revering to them being parselmouth.

"Also, I don't understand what you mean by "meeting my creator"," she said innocently. Samantha knew exactly what Cash meant, but she had a reason for acting stupid. "If you mean my amazing parents, I already know them. They love me and my sister very much, you know, like all parents love their children." Always when Samantha brought up the topic of parents and their love, Cash reacted in an extreme way. She didn't know why the beater did it, but Samantha loved using it to show power.

With her duel having ended within barely a minute, Opeila's yearly needs in duelling were not satisfied in the slightest. There had not been a chance for the typical adrenaline, the breathless excitement that normally set in after a few minutes. Opeila had not suffered a single scratch and neither had her partner.

When this event had been announced, the young Slytherin had immediately signed up. A last person standing duel definitely sounded exciting, exactly what her last duel had been lacking. Hopefully there would be older students signing up too, so she could choose who to target, preferably not a first year again. Knocking out literal children wasn't satisfying or something that made her feel proud and powerful, it had only made her uncomfortable.

Upon entering the duelling club, the third year realized that the event truly wasn't overly populated with participants. There were one, two... fourteen students of different ages standing around, from first to fourth years if she had guessed correctly. Both the Gryffindor duellists were present, Opeila was glad that the quick loss a few weeks ago didn't seem to have put them off, but instead looked like it had made them more ambitious.

If they looked in her direction, she would send them a small wave and a friendly smile. Perhaps it was silly that she felt so bad about the last duel, but she did. The young racing captain could remember only too well how intimidated she had been of the upper years and now... well, she was an upper year to some herself.

[font=Times new roman]Somehow, within the first round, nobody had become unconscious yet. That was surprising. As they set off, some people were very quick to make teams, However that was a bit of a downfall for some. As they started, the spells started flying…and not flying, very quickly.

First off was Starlee, who cast a spell Delilah had never used nor had used against her as of yet. She almost wished to see the outcome of it in a practical setting but she didn’t get to, as it missed. Next around was another new one for Del, outside of when she learned it, the fog charm, the fog settled around 2 individuals in particular, Aurora and Sam. Delilah was sure it wouldn’t be too easy for them to see.

Juniper… Oh, that went a bit wrong, attempting to cast a spell at somebody else before it backfires back in her face. As it did, it was very quick to see what spell she cast even if you didn’t hear it as she started waltzing in a circle by herself, as if she had an invisible partner. Very quickly after that, thanks to samantha, Cassandra was blindfolded, but she wasnt the only one who almost got blindfolded. Opeilas attempt to blindfold Lucia is quite quickly sent in the wrong direction towards Youssuf, him being able to dodge it quickly before it can cover his face.

Just as Everlys spell fizzes into nothingness. A large cloud descends on a group standing together, Henry, Lucia, Cassandra and Samantha. This spell Delilah knew pretty well, it having disguised her duels a couple times. However, the spell didn’t have a large range, and only settled on these 4 individuals.

As Clair and Lizzy both missed their opponents, Youssuf actually manages to hit his, hitting Juniper with a green sparks charm. Finally, Aurora was able to hit Cody with a knockback spell. Delilah was already so excited for this duel, while also scared, nobody had gotten too hurt this time around but she didn’t think it would be long before somebody did.

As she had expected, it took only a few moments before the chaos of what this duel was to be broke out in front of them. Spells were flying everywhere, heck, there was even a smoke cloud now covering a few people on the dueling stage, she assumed from Everly, since that had been her tactic in both the past two official duels.

She quickly acquired her target, a young first year who she knew to be a duellist, and attempted to cast a spell she had always wanted to in battle. However, her eyes quickly caught on to Aurora, fearing a spell coming from her fellow second year, missing the boy entirely.

What she did manage to catch, was another fellow second year casting a spell at Cash. A blindfold would cover their eyes, requiring their removal before another spell was to be cast. "Oi! Cash! You okay?" she would ask the older student. They hadn't managed to let off a spell, maybe the blindfold came on too quick for them?

In any case, Starlee couldn't help with that now, she had to keep on standing and keep on defending herself and attempt to keep attackers at bay from Cash. At least no one had turned on her, she did manage to feel better about that, but that would be getting closer and closer as the match went on.

More and more people showing up as the minutes went by. Cash had proposed a plan to form a team together when the unmistakable voice that was always so cheerful greeted their ears. "Hey yourself, Estrella Star!"They greeted the second-year Viper duellist. Henry had beckoned a boy named Cody but it seems Henry's inquiry left unanswered.

Cash had made one single not that long snide comment and yet Sam managed to give a full lengthy speech that Cash could care less about it. First, the girl managed to greet the third year with over-the-top sweetness. Unlike what Starlee usually does, Sam's sweetness was overly done, it made Cash's stomach feel queasy.

"So you are making up new nicknames? That's great! I actually also came up with a new one after our last meeting"Sam told the Quidditch player. The green eyes fully know what the gremlin talking about. Cash hated that day. The day their worst enemy found out their biggest and deepest secret that Cash tried to hide it as long as they could.

The only people who knew that they are in fact is a Parsel are Henry, Kara, Starlee, and now one freaking Samantha Salwis. The young Ironwoods were about to reply to Starlee when she chimed in that she wanted on the Cash-Henry-Lucia's alliances when Sam decided to open the whole that she called as a mouth.

I could also add whisperer to it, then it would be the snake whisperer, I could even call you SW then"The annoying Ravenclaw blabbed some more. Cash tried their best to control their anger that was hard to do these days.

Samantha also brings up the topic of parents and their love. Usually, that topic alone would anger the Cuban descendant but Cash tried not to step into her trap. They just send Sam a sharp glare. When it comes down to Quidditch, it is all about upper body strength, skills, strategies, and most importantly, teamwork.

Dueling also had. Dueling is not just about skills and teamwork but also about psychological warfare. It is about how you could psyche your opponent and get into their head. Instill fear in them and Cash would not let whatever squeak of that lowlife mouse get them. They need to focus on the task at hand and take down the opposing players one by one.

Then hell break loose after Delilah gave the go signal. Spells flying left and right. Henry gave out a warning to the girl that Cash met briefly in Theater Club. "Worry about yourself, mate! You are more Gryffindor than Slytherin. You sure you in the correct house?"They make a playful jabbed as Cash swatted Henry's forearm playfully.

Spells keep flying here and there. A smoke blanketed them and Henry told both Cash and Lucia that the culprit behind the fog is Cody. "Feel betrayed yet, Knight?"They asked Henry in French. Their inner darkness slowly creeps out. Cash did not feel bad in the slightest for saying such a thing to Henry. Maybe the best option is to focus their head on the game.

If they were focused, Cash could see someone pointing their wand at Cash. But with little visibility, anyone could aim at them. And suddenly Cash's world becomes dark. Cash suspected someone aside Henry, Lucia, and Starlee had cast the blindfold spell on them. Breathe in. Breathe out. Cash tried to control their panic attack.

It is not the right time to get panic. Cool yourself They chided themselves. Cash was not afraid of the dark. The Chamber could be much darker and worse than being blindfolded but Cash hated surprises. After some breathing exercise, Cash's breath slowly even out. Starlee even asked whether the Beater was alright or not.

"Yeah,"They replied to the bubblegum pop known as Starlee Kennedy. Still dark since the blindfold still wrapped around their eyes, Cash listened to the little summary that Henry provided to the team. Sam was the one that cast the Obscuro spell on them and two people tried to attacked Lucia but they failed to do so.

Clenching their jaw, Cash feels like their anger is about to burst out. This time they let it pour out. "ONCE THIS BLINFOLD WAS OFF OF ME, YOU ARE A DEAD MAN, SALWIS!"They yelled out through the fog. "YOU ARE DEAD! YOU HEAR ME, FILTHY MICE?!"Cash screamed out their hatred for Sam for all people to hear.

“Face Lift Is Painfully Expensive Nooo! Duh! Oohlala! Flipendo!” Ha! Gotcha! That bed bug finally got what he deserved from ruining Winnie’s birthday party a while ago. What a complete tosser. He was slower than expected, especially after the Ravenclaw’s tremendously long acronym for the knockback jinx, he should have known what was coming. Perhaps he was dumbfounded by the fact anyone would bother to create such a thing, or maybe it was just Aurora getting better at what once she wasn’t excel at. Imperfection made her to practise harder than ever, this finally paid off. How relieved she was when the blue spark came out of her wand and hit the shooting target. Chuckled with her head back like a little kid, somehow it looked a little psychotic, but the truth was the alleviation took over for a bit. If he remembered the insensitive behaviour he did and the face of the girl who once threatened to make him pay, he should know that no one could ever mess with the friends of Aurora. Which was not much, there are plenty of fishes in the sea.

Some people love to rain of the other’s parades. It was veiled in the lightest of mists all of the sudden, most were surrounding her, almost blinding her vision temporarily. Her sense of awareness worsened as the fog danced around, blurred the whole room like an ancient painting. When and where did it come from? Was it poisonous? she didn’t know. What she would do next was cover her nose and mouth with one hand and hope for the best. If people were dying because of this mysterious smoke, she would know.
