Apparently the Gryffindors had decided to dedicate some more time to a purely defensive stance, and Dee nodded slowly. Although their time was ticking down, taking a moment to regroup and breaking the cycle of being hit by one hindering spell after the other was a good idea.

While Sylvie finally darted across the stage to pick up her wand, Elsa readied herself to dodge what was to come - and it was a good thing she did.

The Vipers had apparently decided to take Elsa out of the duel for good, both of them preparing to send a knockback jinx at the girl. Henry especially seemed determined, the spell leaving his wand formidable. But Elsa seemed to have expected this, and, weaving left and right, managed to slip away from both Bridget's and Henry's spell without taking any damage. Not bad.

Honestly, the longer this duel lasted, the more respect Elsa gained in Dee's eyes. It was stressful to face two opponents with your partner incapacitated for even a minute, let alone as long as this had been going on. She was holding up well.

"Half the time has passed!" she called out, reminding the duellists of the time limit they faced.

The Vipers clearly had the upper hand so far, but the second half would start with both Lions back at full capacity for the first time since the beginning of the duel - and a lot could happen in the remaining time.

Elsa wasn't looking so good. Another Flipendo or two would do her in, perhaps. It would certainly be optimal to transition this to a two on one; courtesy of a Petrificus Totalus and Expelliarmus, they'd seen very little of Sylvie thus far, but Bridget was confident they could take her with a numbers advantage. Her Knockback Jinx was fine, certainly better than the one she'd cast just before, joining Henry's rather exceptional flash of blue. Too late, she noticed Elsa's lack of a move to cast. The Gryffindor dodged and weaved, which was respectable and smart, Bridget was just slightly miffed at herself that she hadn't seen it coming.

They were, however, still fine. Sylvie did have her wand back and the wind had faded, but Slytherin was free of distractions as well, so it was, at most, even. That storm cloud was still rumbling over the lions. She nodded once, mostly to herself, at Dee's call of the halfway mark. There was no halftime in duels, no time-outs, but that time marker and the circumstances brought a certain sense of regrouping. Right, time to really focus in. Misses were what they were, the worst thing she could do was dwell on them. Eyes on the red.

Back in the game, but for how long? She gathered her wand in her hands, huffing at the fact that she'd lost it in the first place. It was in the past now, and she gave Elsa a gentle pat on the shoulder as she rejoined her at her side.

There were only a few rounds to go, she realized as Dee called out the half-point in the duel; these skirmishes seemed to be moving faster and faster.

With everyone back at full capacity, Dee had expected some attack spells flashing across the stage, but apparently the duellists were agreeing that they didn't like their opponents at full capacity, so they were looking to change that.

Sylvie tried to conjure another thundercloud to match the one still grumbling ominously above her and Elsa's head, but couldn't quite seem to manage: Only a tiny cloud that coughed more than it grumbled appeared for a moment, before even that faded away.

Elsa's casting was more successful, and she sent a thick, dark blindfold at Bridget - but not before the Viper managed to pay the curse she had been suffering from earlier forward. Elsa was hit by the nasty green spell, and would immediately be able to feel her nose clogging up and a slight headache pressing at her temples.

Henry, finally, decided to mix up the weather conditions a little further and conjured a thick bank of fog around Elsa and Sylvie. The dense fog would it hard for the two to see incoming spells, or their opponents outside the fog, but it would also make it hard for Bridget and Henry to take proper aim at the two lions.

She decided to change things up a little. Throw something at Sylvie, see how she did. She had heard snippets of the girl's complaints of being out of commission, and the frustration was understandable, there only being three duels a year. Knocking her wand away right after she picked it back up would have been cruel. Not that the spell she opted for was much nicer; the Curse of the Bogies was a curse for a reason, and she'd just received a reminder of why that was. But perhaps that reminder had made her a little more willing to use it, for if they were willing to use it, they had to be prepared to receive the same. Besides, it was certainly effective at complicating the casting process, and she wasn't so polite as to let her opponents cast unimpeded. She was trying to win.

The spell hit, but that was about as much as she saw, view of the nasty effects obscured first by fog curling out from Henry's wand and then, flying out from the building obscurity, a swath of black fabric. Today was not her day for dodging, not helped by Elsa's proven good aim; the stage plunged into darkness.

Being blindfolded was disorienting. How had Lucia managed to hit Phaedra with one on yesterday? The fact the Gryffindors couldn't see much better was a reassurance, at least, as was Henry echoing her earlier sentiment, promising to call out incoming spells. Not that her call had been particularly helpful, the fire hitting him anyway, but it was appreciated and the noise helped orient her. She didn't answer for that very reason: the worst thing she could do right now would be to broadcast her location.

Well. This was inconvenient... Sylvie wished she could just step outside of the fog. Alas. Not only this, but she also began to feel that oh-so-familiar sinus pressure she despised so much. NOT THE BOGIES. Here comes the snot. The headache that would accompany the mucus torment, the fog, Sylvie was simply disoriented.

BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON.
