Percival thought that his threat had actually worked as he glared at the boy's downtrodden face. His brows furrowed and his grip only tightened onto the broom as he watched the boy bounce back. While it infuriated him that the boy refused to take his warning to heart. He would not lie and say it didn't amuse him that someone had already found it prudent to throw the first year into the lake with the squid.

"Already stepping on everyone's nerves from day one? I should have known." he said dryly as he used the sleeve of his uniform to dry a few droplets off the shaft of his broom. Percival paused slightly at the mention of Kit Paine. It seemed like ages ago that he had been locked in the Caretakers office. Though, the memory still fresh in his mind. Percival looked back up towards the game blankly as he thought of what to say to avoid Chen's insistent questions. "He's alright, I guess." he said blandly in an attempt to get the other to stop talking to him.

Annie hummed, listening to the commentary. All had gone well, Howard returned from his penalty lap and Quinn was back on his broom. Another two badgers shared a broom again but no one besides Ami had been knocked off since round 1. Knowing their luck it would still get bad but for now they were alright. Then something from the narration startled her. Ethen scored 3 goals for Hufflepuff?"HOLY BALLS, GOOD JOB LITTLE BADGER! YE SURE YOU DON'T WANNA TRY OUT FOR CHASER TOO?" The brunette cupped her hands and whooped for her team. If they could just keep it up and get the snitch now it'd be a good blow out. But alas Gryffindor probably had something up their sleeve and the tides would turn. Hopefully not though but only time would tell..

XXXEnd of the pain was in sight! Maggie was grateful to be saddled with someone like Cash Ironwoods, who had the chops to guide Maggie through her flight patterns and rehearsed moves with ease and little difficulty. Plus, with the pressure to go for the quaffle off her back for the moment, a little relief went a long way. The broom led the two of them towards the bludger, whizzing around dangerously.

Really, Maggie wasn't well-versed in how that little metal danger worked, the way it zipped around and threatened to drop heavy on your head. Luckily, Cash was a force to be reckoned with, and Maggie considered herself safe with them on the broom.

As they approached the bludger, Maggie steering the broom and Cash surveying the ball with a bat at the ready, Maggie did what she could to avoid collision. A loud crack resounded behind her, an indicator that Cash had hit the bludger, and Maggie watched as it sailed through the air to collide with Vivian Nightshade. Ouch. Looked like it hurt. "No hard feelings!" She called, first two fingers saluting the girl who had just been hit.

Koko flew around, searching for someone falling, her eye narrowing at the slightest movement. After their last game, Koko fully expected Gryffindor to be picking them off one by one -

- but they weren't.

For a moment, Koko considered flying back to her goals and watching from there, but she listened to the commentary instead, sure that Hufflepuff would take their strategy from last round.

She was flying around when she heard the all-too familiar ding that happened when someone scored.

Koko told herself that Tyranni had taken the chance to attempt to score, but she knew Tyranni was doing just what she was - waiting for people to save. And there weren't any. Which meant that...

Koko glanced back at her beloved goals, teeth clenching as she saw Ethen score another goal. It took a lot to make Koko angry. She was usually too nervous to be angry, or if she wasn't nervous she was fairly calm. But this? This made her hands clench the shaft of her broom so tightly she thought she might break it.

Koko usually hated even the thought of doing something aggressive, but she wanted to take the Quaffle from Ethen's hands and throw it at him. He was scoring at her goals, and she couldn't do anything. Her goals!

Ethen scored another goal, and it took most of Koko's self-control to not beg Dan to let her grab the Quaffle to throw it at him or maybe kick it the next time she blocked. She needed to be civil, though. Anger was not a good thing.

Koko tried to shake off her anger but instead ended up glaring at her goals before surveying the pitch to make sure she didn't need to catch anyone. If she did, they would be in for a rough landing on her broom, and she would blame it on the cold, not on any rough flying.

She took a deep breath to try to calm herself down as she took a final glance around the pitch.

No one was falling.

The blue eyes darted between the bludger and Ethen. Hunching over her broom, "Nooo!" She dashed to stop the bludger from even touching Ethen's vellus hair. Which ended up with burning pain in her body and getting swooped off the broom. Everything slowed down around her as fear suffused her. The fear of how painful it'd be to hit the ground with her already aching body, the fear of not being able to prove herself. She just started her game and it was cruel to knock her off.

The blonde was so sure that she'd hit the ground and just then saviour Atlas caught her. Relief rushed over her and a slight smile stretched on her face "Thanks" she murmured, not sure whether it reached her ears. Tho she wasn't on her broom and shared a broom, it didn't destroy her confidence so much. She was still extremely sure that she'll win the match- which would technically mean Hufflepuff winning the match.

The pesky pain in her body didn't fade away and she had to deal with another bludger attack as their seeker was again targeted. The girl hated her irritative cousin, hated being called Nightshade, hated when mocked. And here's a combo! Scrunching her face, "I am not sure how to make it right Phoenix!" with an effortless hurt expression. The statement would ruffle their feathers. The best part, no one would think bad of Vivian.

This time everything looked as though it was going slower. Ethen had seemed to have changed his strategy and gone for the quaffle while everyone else was busy with other problems. Stanley beamed widely as the First-String seeker scored three times bringing Hufflepuff up by 20 points. This game was going far better than the last one they had played against Slytherin. "Go Ethen!" Stanley huffed out punching his arm into the air. He couldn't get his hopes up but he couldn't help feeling like this would be the game for them.

Quinn would need to thank Rosie later. Being returned to his broom he looked around
and started to speed around. Getting readjusted and refocused. He was hoping to have a shot at making a dent in Slytherin. They were holding strong but he felt a little useless at the m9ment.

But, they had a job to do and dammit Quinn would make sure they would do it. Besides things were getting very exciteable and as they say again the show must go on.

The first step was complete now. Ethen had the snitch in sight and kept his eyes fixed on the zipping little golden ball. That didn't mean the game was in his hands now, but he did feel as though his odds were improving. And, thanks to his team, he was still alive and flying. Each minute that passed where he wasn't blasted off his broom would be considered a small victory.

He watched and grit his teeth as Vivian took a bludger for him and he knew he would have to thank her for that one. But he couldn't waste too much time thinking about it as a second attack was quick to follow. But Ethen remained nimble enough to quickly avoid it.

Scanning the field, however, there was an opportunity that seemed to have fallen right into his lap. The Slytherin posts look undefended and no one was exactly watching for Ethen to make a move on the goal. Leaning close to his broom, he rocketed to procure the quaffle and then it was a straight shot to the goalposts. With the chaos of the game around him, it was almost too simple to chuck the quaffle through. Ethen smiled gleefully as he whistled to himself and chucked the quaffle through the posts, again and again, scoring a quick 30 points for his team. Who knew that Slytherin was so easy to score against?

It was good to feel like he had actually accomplished something useful and there was a certain thrill to scoring points that weren't reliant on finding the little golden snitch. But, it still had to be taken and Ethen knew that they couldn't afford much more time spent running up the score.
