[font=Times new roman]Something seemed awkward about Aurora, although that was soon discovered why as she saw the way he was looking at the Gryffindor who was with them, Del shot him a quick smile, never having really spoken to him, nor truly knowing who he was, and not knowing the history between Aurora and him.
Out of the corner of her eye Del saw a hand raise towards her, turning a little she saw it was her duelling captain. Delilah quickly grinned and waved back.
She turned back to Aurora as she explained why she was over here instead of down on the pitch. "Ah, I see." Delilah felt a bit awkward standing with Aurora and Nick, especially with Auroras last exclamation. She stood quietly for a moment, not realising she was just lurking and listening to what was happening before her. It was as plain as it was cold out that these kids fancied each other.
Hearing the race begin to the side, everybodies heads turned to see what was going on, watching somebody from her house throw...a rock. That certainly wasn't expected, and clearly the Gryffindor agreed that it wasn't by his exclamation.
"They can do that? I don't know too much about broom racing but uh, I imagine...they're meant to race. I thought this was meant to be the least violent game."
As the Gryffindor introduced himself as Nicholas, and a captain. Del nodded and smiled. "I'm Delilah Stewart, Ravenclaw....I don't do anything particularly interesting. I just duel and write for the newspaper. Nice to meet you." She chuckled, even though she was older than both of these two by a few years, she did feel a bit inferior. She did like how people came to see her duel...although she didn't know if they were watching her or just sticking around from other peoples duels. But Ravenclaws seemed to enjoy the informative articles she wrote...or she had heard, that was something...kind of.
As people shot off, she saw Serena go away ahead of the other..few people she knew, she almost couldn't stop herself.
"GO SERENA! uh...ahem GO RAVENCLAW!" She hoped she hadn't shouted too loudly to give the 2 next to her a fright.

"YEAHH!!! GO!" She cheered. For some time, she let her eyes drift to the Hufflepuff team, who very well knew what they were doing. Have they done this before???? She thought to herself with concern. She just wished it was a fair match, but it clearly was NOT. But she was very proud of Emily for keeping up with one of the older Hufflepuffs, clearly one who was tough and stronger. "YES EMILY!!!!" She through her hands in the air, knowing they had a chance. And a good one, too.
She just wondered what was next, and did they even train for it? For quidditch, they have practice a lot. Broom racing? She wasn't so sure. Did they have duells in the air to practice? While she was thinking, someone walked up to her. Someone who was clearly older kneeled down and called it "our team" So Juni was sure she was a Ravenclaw. She was sure she's seen her with a prefect badge before.
She nodded and turned her direction back to the racing. "The girl in the front is Emily R. Brewer, she's one of my best friends!" A hint of pride was in her voice, for she was proud of Emily. She pointed to the ravenclaws in unit 4. "That's Ari Gwild and Lin Evanvleck, also my besties!" She pointed all the way to the front. "Anddd, that is Clair!"
She knew all but one on the team. "I'm Juniper, by the way"
She turned back to the game and saw the players were still going like total GIRL BOSSES, and and ARI BEING A BOSS
"What is THAT? What just- how- Is that even SAFE?!" Was that acid?
And plants that were trying to eat them? Now Emily and another girl was in the lead. "EMILY I SEE YOU BEING A GIRL BOSS!!!" She yelled.

Haley couldn't help but laugh as Lizzy proved to her that she could be a super loud minority. She nodded at her in amazement and tipped her imaginary hat to her. "I see we're going to make it work." the redhead added , looking at the starting line with a grin.
"I've never seen broom racing either." Admitted Haley, sure that there would be no shortage of surprises waiting for her here. Normally she would assume they were just racing, but here they were at Hogwarts, there was magic involved and they were flying on brooms. Haley had a feeling it wouldn't be as simple as a race.
Haley looked at Lizzy in amazement for a moment, had she really heard her name before and through Quidditch? But the longer Haley thought about it, the more sense it made. One would just have to have been at a game where Haley wasn't on the bench. The announcers were just shouting the names and the actions into the crowd, it would have been no wonder. Still, it made Haley proud in a way and she started to grin. "Funnily enough, yes. I'm a Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team." Haley explained . "You're into Quidditch?" she asked cautiously before she began to say anything about it, though Lizzy didn't care in the least.
Before Haley could have talked further, her attention was drawn back to the race as the starting gun went off and the brooms including Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs started moving. "GOOO SIMON. GO BADGERS! YOU GOT THIS!" Haley screamed at the top of her lungs, clapping her hands together. It was hard for her to follow the whole spectacle, it seemed like she was only really aware of a fraction of everything that was happening, but she knew to at least focus on Simon and not lose sight of him. "Wow it's crazy what's going on." Haley said in amazement.

The short red-head needed no further prompting, turning back to the race and starting to rattle of names like she was on a timer. Emily was the one in the lead, noted. Clair was a name Dee actually knew, and the two in between were... Ari and... Finn? Vin? Something like that. "Thanks." Amused at Juniper's obvious enthusiasm, Dee turned back to the race.
"Go Emily!" she chimed in, yelling loudly. "You can beat those badgers!" Maybe. They were off to a better start than Dee would have expected.
And the young Eagles kept proving their skills. With Jack and the older Hufflepuff momentarily delayed to get him back onto his broom, Emily had the opportunity to extend her lead. She wasn't the only one, either. The one Juniper hadn't introduced also sped past, quickly catching up to Emily, and Lari and Gin weren't far behind. Mari and Bim? Wait, who of the two was even who? Even Clair managed to catch up a little, while the Hufflepuffs on average seemed to be struggling more.
Dee whistled loudly, slowly getting invested in the race rather than just standing by to heckle Jack whenever the opportunity arose. She still thought that broom sports were stupid - honestly, why would you volunteer to narrowly avoid smushing yourself into trees and dangerous creatures on a flimsy wooden stick while other people threw objects and spells at you? - but it was a competition, nonetheless, and Dee could always get into those.

"Definitely," Lizzy said with a grin. They would definitely make it work. It was Lizzy's turn to laugh as Haley pretended to tip a hat to her. The match had started while the two girls were talking, and she had been watching bits and pieces of it along the way. It was funny how she had come here to watch the race, but had ended up meeting someone new and doing more talking than watching.Interacting: @Haley Rose @Simon Kincaid ☽ ➶ ☾ Mentioning: --
As Haley responded to Lizzy's previous question, the confusion was cleared up. She was a Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Now it made sense for her name to be familiar to Lizzy. "I'm into watching Quidditch," she said. "I find it really interesting, but I don't think I would be able to fly so high up without falling." She found it worrying to be flying without a safety net, or anything to catch the players if they were to fall. "Duelling is more my thing," she added.
"GO SIMON!" she paused to yell in the direction of the Hufflepuff. "It really is," Lizzy said in agreement, and then winced as some of the trees, which were an obstacle, constricted and scraped up Simon a bit. "That had to have hurt."

Noting with more than a bit of concern that Phoenix did not answer her immediately, AngelFyre took her by the hands and moved over a bit, making room for Phoenix to sit and just breathe deeply for a few minutes. To look at her she looked fine, but AngelFyre was not sure just how concerned she should be. Phoenix did just say she had come from the hospital. Maybe AngelFyre needed to get her back there?
While she was debating, AngelFyre became aware that she had missed quite a bit of the race. She heard the red headed girl and a brunette now sitting with her both cheering for Simon. She looked up, scanning the skies, and was astonished at how far along the track he now was. He was in the lead for the Hufflepuff team, but was still trailing a few of the Ravenclaw leaders.
Wow! This sport moves fast, she thought. Wait! Is that a Hufflepuff racer dancing on his broom handle?!? You just do not see that everyday, well, not in the land of Muggles anyway. Scanning the skies once more, she found the racer of her heart's desire. She smiled, very proud of him. KEEP IT UP, SIMON! YOU ARE DOING GREAT! She was cheering for him loudly in her heart, but silently trying to be aware of whether her friend was OK or not.

Phoenix got lost in her own mind and her attention was caught by the race. She had never seen a broom race before and now that she was watching one, she found it pretty cool. They were all going so quickly. To think that muggles use brooms every day without realizing what great things us wizards are doing with them in the meantime.
She snapped out of it when she was pulled down to sit down next to Angel. She tried not to flinch when the girl grabbed her by her sore wrist where her injury left a small pain. However, she was unsuccessful and her eyes shut on their own.
- Sorry I forgot to warn you that my wrist still hurt. My bad, don't worry about it. So yes, you must be wondering what happened. It's nothing too bad, to be honest. I got out of it with only a headache and muscle pain but I can't say the same thing about the other girl. I feel so bad you know. I still think it was her fault, and if I'm being honest, I don't like the girl. She acts like she's the best and it annoys me so much. Plus, she gives me bad vibes. I can't deny that I feel awful though. Phoenix took a breath and realized she hadn't even explained what happened yet. Silly me, you don't even know what happened. So we had a broom crash. I was sitting on my broom, just taking a peaceful break when this girl just flies full speed into me. From where she was at, she had plenty of time to stop. She claims to have had broom priority but I disagree. Anyways, she has a huge injury to her legs and has to use crouches. I can't tell you how bad I feel; it's all I think about. That's why we made a deal. I'm going to carry her books around when she needs to. I mean, it's the least I can do...
Phoenix realized how long she had been ranting for and stopped. Sorry I've been ranting. Long story short, I'm alright. Now how are you? Enough of me haha. I want to know about you! She gave Angel a smile.

AngelFyre was immediately relieved when Phoenix started speaking, but felt terrible that she had inadvertently hurt the Ravenclaw's already sore wrist. "Oh, I am so sorry if I hurt you" she said as Phoenix noticeably winced in pain. "That all sounds just awful. I am glad you were not hurt worse, but I am sorry that you were hurt at all. Listen, I was about to get some hot cocoa. Let me run down to one of the house elves very quickly and I will be back in a flash with some for both of us. I have some questions about this indentured servitude you seem to have agreed to with the other girl. It sounds kind of sketchy to me. I will be right back."
And true to her word, AngelFyre was gone and back in a flash with the cups of hot cocoa. It is true that she was cold and had wanted the cocoa, but the whole truth of the matter was that the little trip for the hot cocoa gave her an excuse to see the redheaded girl from the front as she was heading back up to her seat. Not surprisingly, she was absolutely beautiful and had a very easy smile.
Luckily, the redheaded beauty had her eyes turned to the sky, probably riveted on Simon, so she was unaware that AngelFyre had set upon her first and last reconnaissance mission with anything girlfriend related. What was the point, really? She looked perfect for Simon; closer to his age, a sophisticated dresser, tall, and just all around lovely. And Simon being Simon, AngelFyre was certain she had to be just as lovely on the inside, too. Kind of hard to be upset with a fellow for having good taste, but it did cut more than a bit to learn about her this way.
Buck up, AF. Just keep it positive and you will have a wonderful friend in him, and that is not nothing.
Since pouting in public was absolutely not an option, she smiled widely as she took her place next to Phoenix and handed her her cup of cocoa. After a couple of very welcome sips, she teased, "I am sad to admit that though the experience seemed heavily weighted to my House Hufflepuff before this race even began, ahem, it would seem things are breaking rather nicely for your Ravenclaws. I am going to attribute that to the fact that you birds live in the skies. Badgers? Not so much," she laughed and then yelled for all she was worth, "COME ON HUFFLEPUFF! YOU CAN WIN THIS!"
She wanted to yell his name, but he was so far away, he would not have heard it anyway, and besides, there was no reason to draw any unnecessary attention to herself.

Della found herself in the cold January air again, two days in a row. She had decided to brace herself against the freezing weather to watch the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff broom race. She had just raced yesterday, and the thrill of it all had not yet washed off. She wanted to watch her soon-to-be opponents. Simon seemed to have a large group of supporters, people that Della did not yet know. But she did spot her racing captain. Nick was sitting next to the Ravenclaw racing captain. Della suspected they might be dating, but it was unclear and she thought better than to ask. Nick was also wearing a Hufflepuff scarf, which made the whole situation even more peculiar. Still probably best not to ask.
"Hi Nick!" Della stood on the stand just above him, holding her arms and trying to stay warm. "Do you mind if I sit with you?"
She had the sudden thought she could be interrupting something—a date perhaps? Her cheeks might have turned red if it wasn't so damn cold out. But then Della realized there was another Ravenclaw girl with them—someone she recognized from the Headliner—a small sigh of relief—so it was probably safe to join their group.

“Aye, they can do that,” Nicholas answered the older Ravenclaw, his eyes intent upon the scene, only flashing back to her when she mentioned her assumption as to racing being the least violent game. He shook his head as an answer, adding, “Anything but, s’bloody brutal. Just most of the time you save that kind of thing for those actually winning the race.”
“Pleasure’s all mine,” He answered the girl, Delilah Stewart, following her introduction. His eyes flashing back between his companions and the sport, “Duelling, hey? That’s a fine sport, I reckon. I gave it a go last year,” he grimaced, “Didn’t have the knack for it.”
Yet, the grimace changed to a grin upon hearing the cheer for Serena, even as loud as it was, it was good to see the fifth year Hufflepuff had at least a few friends out to support her. Nicholas supposed he was among their number now, here for her and Warren both, what with the Hufflepuff scarf and all. Although, the birds and badgers seemed to be a slight less intent on blood lust than his own pride had been, despite the actions of Wolfhartz at the beginning of the race. Brown eyes watched every movement intently, the profiles and actions of the players documented for future reference, at least as documented as he could do mentally while also trying to pretend that Aurora wasn’t close enough that he could feel her body heat. Curse the cold. The unpleasant thoughts, fortunately, were once again dispelled by the arrival of another person.
Nicholas looked backward, the sight of the youngest member of his team, holding her arms to herself in an attempt to keep warm, was a welcome one. She’d done bloody well the day prior, and the captain nodded.
“Yeah, of course, Dell,” He gestured the first-year down, the last syllable, a solitary ‘A’ dropped in an utterly lazy bit of drawled speech.
He gestured to the two Ravenclaws next to him in turn, “This is Aurora Ranvier, she’s the Ravenclaw captain, and Delilah Stewart, duellist and writer.”
With the arrival of Della, he turned his attention back to the race, speaking absently as he did so, “The girl who just got flung forward is Serena Towers,” he flicked his head in lazy recognition toward Delilah, “I’ve seen her fly, we’ll need to watch out for her, yeah? You’ll see when she takes on the vine- Maybe not.”
“You’ve drilled the team well, Ranvier,” He spoke to his absolutely-not-girlfriend without looking at her, he didn’t need that complication.
