Potions Is The Worst Closed PV L. Locile

Delphinia ran back and forth across the room, trying to get this ingredient and put it into that beaker and mix a cup of that mixture with 1/3 of a cup of this mixture and so on so forth. She had been looking forward to having classes like the things out of her books, but this was absolutely despicable! How was she meant to keep up with the potion's recipe when she didn't even know what Wolfsbane looked like?! She reluctantly put in a branch of purple flowers and breathed a sigh of relief when her mixture turned blue, just like it should have. She then continued her frenzied running around the room, tossing something into her potion that she thought she needed. Little did she know, her potion was now bubbling threateningly. She read the potion's recipe again and pursed her lips. "Gillyweed." She muttered to herself, as it didn't say how much gillyweed was needed. She raised her hand and stood there for a while without anyone coming to help her, so she decided to just wing it and put in the whole bundle. The bubbling mixture slowly began to smoke and, to her surprise, it exploded in the beaker! The beaker was completely fine, it had just covered Delphinia's face in soot. And the potion was gone, as was all her progress. After that happened, and she felt like all the eyes were already on her, the only sound she could make was a tiny, squeaky, quiet:
"A-choo!"

Lillian was focused on her potion, carefully reading the recipe and measuring ingredients. Curious to see how everyone else was doing, she looked up and saw a Hufflepuff girl running across the room. She looked a little distressed, and Lillian wondered if she should offer the girl any help, but as she was trying to decide, the girl’s potion exploded. After a few moments, when no one had moved to help the Hufflepuff, Lillian made sure her potion was ok to be left for a minute, and then hurried across the room to the girl. “Are you ok?” Lillian asked the girl, offering her a rag that Lillian had in her bag so that the girl could wipe the soot off of her face. Lillian took another rag and began to wipe the desk clean. She looked around the room again to see that everyone had went back to their potions, and were ignoring the two of them. Lillian internally sighed, she was the only one who had ran over to help the girl. Lillian turned her attention back to the girl and asked, “Do you want some help? I’m sure that between the two of us we could make recreate your potion by the end of class.”

Delphinia raised one eyebrow. She was about to protest, as she felt guilty that someone else would've been helping her. After all, it was in class, she needed to do her own work, right? But then she noticed the girl's robes. Oh, it was a Ravenclaw! Just like her father! Wow, this was so amazing, she could hardly believe she was making friends with her! Maybe, was she? Delphinia immediately changed her mind, remembering all the pleasant things her father had spoken of whilst addressing Ravenclaws. He himself was one, as well, and that was an extra point. She had thought that you should only receive help from those that share the same house as you, which was not in any way true, but she was definitely willing to make an exception for someone who was in the house that her wonderful father was in, the house that she had expected herself to be in, but ended up a badger rather than a bird. So instead of rejecting Lillian's help or protesting, she slid the book she had opened for the potion's recipe over to Lillian, smiled, and said, "Of course, that would be great. I would actually love your help!"

Lillian smiled widely at the girl and said, “Great! By the way, my name’s Lillian. Let me just make sure my potion is ok to be left and then we can work on yours.” Lillian ran over to the other side of the room, did a few things to her potion, nodded to herself, and ran back over to the girl. “Ok, let’s get started.” Together, they work on the potion, and they quickly got the potion together, working together to have one put in an ingredient as the other prepped the next one. Lillian walked her through every step of the potion, explaining what they needed to do. Teaching had always come naturally to Lillian, she loved seeing the ‘lightbulb’ moment people had when they finally understood something. Lillian also made sure to joke with the girl a little, as just talking about the potion would be extremely boring, and when something was boring, you were absolutely not going to remember it. With more ingredients, the potion was changing colors according to the book, and finally, after much hard work, it was finished, a brilliant color exactly like the book described. “Yay!” Lillian said, “We did it! Good job!” After Lillian said this, she held her hand up for a high five.

Delphinia looked at her hand and giggled, high fiving her and then giving her a hug. Though it may have been unexpected to the other girl, Delphinia was extremely grateful for what she had done for her. "Thank you for all your help." Delphinia muttered, and let go of the girl. "Anyways, I was watching how you knew exactly how much of everything the potion needed and what it needed and such, and um, you're super smart at potions, and uh-" Delphinia tripped over her words. She wanted to befriend the girl, but she was starting to freak out a bit, and she knew if she acted like she always did (which was extremely awkward) the girl would probably think she was stupid and an idiot and the girl would not want to talk to her ever again. So she said, quickly, "Do you want to, um, study together later?" And then immediately got very nervous and started to twirl a loose string from her robes around her finger. "Anyways, yeah, you're super smart and I'm obviously not, so I think it would be good to get some help from you, and um, maybe even become friends. I'd like to be friends with you... If you want to."

@Delilah Magic cmon fellow quill pal lol :)

Lillian smiled as Delphinia high fived her, and smiled even wider as the girl gave her a hug. Lillian happily hugged Delphinia back, she loved hugs. “Of course!” Lillian replied to Delphinia’s thanks. Lillian loved to help people. Lillian blushed a little as Delphinia complemented her. Lillian really didn’t think she was very smart, but it was nice to hear that someone thought she was. Lillian let out a soft laugh at Delphinia’s next statement, “The only reason I know what to do is because I read the Potions book ahead of time. I’m a muggle born so magic is so interesting and new to me and I really just want to know everything about it.” When Delphinia said that she wanted to spend more time with Lillian, even become friends, Lillian smiled eagerly. “I would love to study with you later, also, I’m sure you’re smart, potions just isn’t your best subject. And I would love to be friends.” Lillian smiled widely again. She was very excited to get a new friend. Delphinia seemed very nice and Lillian knew that they were going to be very close. “So, studying later, where do you want to meet up?” Lillian questioned.

If we’re going to stop the thread from being potions related, maybe we could move it someone else. Like, for instance, if we’re studying, maybe we could move it to the Study Room.
