Victoria learned that the girl she had just met was named Pax. "Hmm, pronouns? I don't know, I guess that's she."
Victoria shrugged. She chuckled when she saw Simon calling people and she slid across the ice. She smiled when she saw Clair. "Hi Clair!" Victoria couldn't help laughing when she saw Simon looking at Clair. she whispered to Simon. "Simon, the way you look at Clair is very clear."
Victoria's eye caught another one. Simon Kincaid. Victoria had seen Simon. "Hm, isn't it Simon Kincaid? I'm Victoria, Victoria Honest." Victoria smiled faintly.
Victoria smiled at Winter. "Winter, - umm- can you show me those cool moves you made?" Victoria blushed slightly. "You can laugh if I fall!" Victoria smiled.
Victoria rolled up her sleeves and stood ready. She was confident. "Hmm, something to spin please." Victoria chuckled. She was sure that Winter would make a good teacher. Indeed, more people had come to the ice skating than he had expected – too many. But it was okay if she fell—she just wished it didn't hurt.
Victoria quickly gathered her hair and waited for Winter to show the move. In fact, Victoria was sure she would fall. She couldn't have learned without falling after all.
I just want to be myself.

"I know that you never would" she replied, maybe Corbin would, but Kincaid she believed would never. And she would never keep one from him either.
She nodded, "don't get burned, do you like Comet's sweater?" She turned so Simon could see Comet, "Belle sent it."
She grinned "I'll show you, if you show me." She stopped "can you hold Comet? She won't like me if you don't" if Simon took Comet's backpack Clair would skate to a spot no one was near, if Simon did not take Comet, then Clair would go to the side of the lake and place the rabbit down.
When she came back she looked at Simon "Do you really want to see?" She asked, half teasing.
She backed up, and after getting some movement, she did a one foot twist, she managed it for a few seconds and then she finished it and stop, "Whatta think?" she asked, it had been a bit rusty but for the second one this year, she was pretty happy with it.
She looked at Simon "Your turn!" In her head she could see Simon and her figure skating together, how nice that would be!
She smiled, "Your not burning are you?"

After some falls, some laughs, and quite a few introductions from so many students, Grace decided to give this a try. How hard could it be, really?Dialogue: #20528c | Outfit: X | Hearts banner code by Winnie Harper
She’d watched a few of them pick pairs of skates out from a bag by the ice. Maybe that first girl had brought it. It seemed like this might have been a scheduled outing, or at least preemptively planned, so maybe she brought a whole bag in preparation for doing it in a whole group. She dug through the bag, found a pair that looked like it should fit, and started pulling them on.
All laced up, Grace scooted down to the edge of the lake and put her blades on the ice, butt still on the ground. Okay, Grace. All you have to do is stand up. Just stand. No big deal. You’ve done it a million times before. She placed her hands on either side of her hips and pushed up…
And stood! A giant smile washed across her face and a light Ha! left her lips in quiet celebration.
The problem was, however, she couldn’t just… stand here. But she was terrified to move. Grace wasn’t one to be easily embarrassed when she visibly failed at something, but all of these new faces, and especially some new faces that looked like masters on the ice, were making her increasingly nervous.
Luckily, the first girl, who she’d heard others call Winter, started to offer some tips and tricks.
"When you skate, you should always bend your legs a bit! It helps to keep you balanced... and point your toes in the way you want to go before pushing off with the pick of your skates," she said. "And last, to stop, either spread your feet apart quickly in an emergency or place one foot behind the other sideways to slow down before coming to a complete stop."
Sure, that made sense. Grace bent her knees slightly, turned her feet to face in front of her, and pushed. She successfully started gliding forward, just like Winter said. Stopping would be a different story, but she’d tackle that bridge when she got to it. For now, she would just scoot around the lake in big slow circles and observe how everyone else was doing.

Faye had decided to follow the girl that she had been talking to, Grace, because she had no clue what to do. Her go-to method for when she didn't know what she was doing was to copy what other people were doing, and it normally worked, so it had to now.
She moved over to the bag she'd saw her bring out those dreadful knife shoes and pulled out a pair, checking to see if they fit. They didn't sadly, but she rummaged through the bag until she found a good pair. It took her even longer to lace them up, fiddling with the strings and doing loop after loop to get the perfect knot.
Faye's first step onto the ice was one of complete confusion. How come she couldn't stand up? She had waddled on the skates over to the lake and anxiously stepped on, miraculously staying straight up until she tried to move, falling straight onto her butt.
"Oh, you've got to be serious? These are lawsuits waiting to happen! Why can't you just magic them to make you never fall over? Ugh." She grumbled, trying and failing to get up, skidding on her bare knees.

Vicky skated over to greet Clair and Kincaid and as Simon skated over to Winter, Vicky whispered to her "Simon, the way you look at Clair is very clear."
Simon's face went even redder. "Shut up." she hissed. Was she really that noticeable? And did Vicky really have to say it in public? She made a mental note to avoid Clair so she wouldn't make a fool of herself. "Don't tell Clair. I don't even think she likes me back."
Simon followed along with the group of newbies and saw Grace skating without breaking her ankles. Simon skated over. "Hey, good job! You seem to be really getting the hang of it."
Next to her was a girl who wasn't getting the hang of it and was sliding around on her knees like her skates didn't exist was grumbling about lawsuits. She reminded Simon of Lily, which wasn't a good thing in her opinion.
"You know you have to put those skates to use, right?" Simon giggled as the girl complained. "Here, let me help you up." she said, offering a hand to help her up and trying desperately not to laugh. "Winter is teaching classes right now, you might wanna par..." Simon couldn't keep it in any longer and bent over as she laughed. "Sheesh, you're a one-lady comedy show."

Asking @Clair Fernandez to skate
"I'll be fine for awhile," Simon said, liking that Clair worried about it but there was some cloud cover that day. Besides, Winter had been out here longer and she seemed to be doing alright. He glanced to his dhampir friend who was helping out some of the other students and many were gravitated over her way.
Simon took the backpack from her and held it up, glancing at the badger inside who looked at Simon back with a 'why do you have me' sort of expression. "Sup, Comet," he said. "Your human is going to show off a bit and didn't want you getting dizzy and throwing up in there. Give her a minute and then you can go right back to her." From what he knew of Comet, she was VERY attached to Clair.
It was impressive, the turn. That's the sort of thing that figure skaters could do that hockey players didn't do - at least never intentionally. "Nice, nice," he complimented her, giving her a smile to show just how much he meant it. "Mine's more just speed, agility, and backwards skating. Stopping on a dime. No fancy moves," and when Clair returned he handed her back her badger.
"In London, they do this thing at The Somerset House. It's this spectacular season of celebrating in the heart of London. They create an ice rink, right there, in the courtyard of the beautiful building with all these winter decorations and a forty foot Christmas tree. Then they have special lighting on the building and it's...amazing. Maybe this next Winter break, you can come visit me in London and I'll show you that it's more than just crowded, busy, loud, and not nice." He remembered that was her description of London when they stopped to have lunch during their horse ride when he had visited her family's farm the month before.
"Let's see how we'd do skating together, shall we?" He said as he extended out his hand to her. "Clair Mackenzie Fernandez, might I have this skate?" he asked, as if he was inviting her to dance, but skating instead.

Her knees were starting to turn blue as she tried to get up from the ice. Every time she got up she lost her balance on the skinny blades of the knife shoes and just slipped back onto the ground. The student, Simon, who she had asked about the pronouns earlier had came over, moving perfectly on the knife shoes. How did they do that? Skate on those deadly lawsuits? Surely the shoes were jinxed?
Folding her arms angrily, Faye pouted as she listened to Simon laughing at her.
"Hey! Look, they're on my feet! What's that on my feet? Ducks? No! Skates? Yes! It's not my fault they're so hard to use!" She huffed, taking Simon's hand and pushing herself up from the ground, balancing steadily by gripping the hand like it was life or death.
"I wouldn't be good at comedy. Talking in front of people isn't my forte. And, what's the point of talking about your life? What if it's boring? What if your childhood bully is in the crowd? Who's Winter?" She asked, never pausing to take a breath, almost losing her balance for the tenth time, waving her arms around like mad to try and steady herself.

Clair smiled, "No figure skating? C'mon, we'd be the best team ever, lifts, it would be fun!" She said with a giggle.
Taking Comet back she made a kissy face "Do he scare you? Make you want to run away? Yeah he does the same to me" she snuck a evil grin up at Simon, then she put the backpack on.
"Sounds great" she said.
She laughed, "Simon Kincaid! How can you be so cute and funny?" She laughed some more, he was so amazing,
"It's Jean, should I change it to Mackenzie? So you can get it right." If she did not have a rabbit on her back she would have laughed harder, but she did not want to shake up the rabbit, or Badger as Simon called her.
"And yes I'd love too" she placed her gloved hand in his, and smiled.
"Did you bring Rascal?" She asked, the problem with rats, they were so small that you never knew if you had them or not!
"Is he doing better?" As she skated she thought about the little rat, the poor thing, so much had happened to him.
"Make sure you don't get burned"
"especially for me, no matter how much you love me!" She teased.
That was the last thing she wanted, a burned Simon.

Being his awkward self at times with @Clair Fernandez
Simon moved his one hand to the front pocket of his jacket and opened it. The light disrupted the rodent's nap and it was just another moment before a little gray head popped out from it, squinting his eyes at the sun and wondering what the heck they were doing outside during his naptime. "That one spot of fur that was kinda messed up is growing in and he's fattened up to almost normal size," Simon paused. He looked to Clair and then down to Rascal, feeling a little bad for having just said that. "...I didn't mean FAT, Rascal. I just meant...you know, your regular size. Being built. Buff." Oh,now he was just embarrassing himself.
"I don't want to leave him alone, not just yet, but honestly he's doing a lot better. He likes to lounge around a lot during the day and be up at night so it's kind of a good fit, you know? And I think he likes my guitar playing. You know Alexa liked to sing, so I think he liked music. She didn't sing much - lacked confidence - but she shouldn't have. She had a beautiful voice."
"Go on back to your nap, Rascal," he said and patted his little head with a gentle tap of a finger. He then still held that other hand and shook it toward Clair so she'd take it, but instead he just took hold of her own and began to skate forward. She'd have to come along with him or fall

Clair smirked "Really? Reasoning with a rat? And I thought it was bad to reason with Comet on wearing her sweater!" Ok reasoning with a rabbit over it's outfit, that was a little odd, but still!
"I bet you two would sound great together" she grinned, "right Rascal?"
Clair looked around quickly when Simon took her hand, "Who's the hag this time?" She asked with a smirk as she skated along, this time she was not about to fall on her face, "And what are you gonna chuck? A skate? Because I don't see any shovels." When she said this she was referring to that night that Simon and Clair had met, they had also met poor Kit Paine, and poor Kit had met the strong arm of Simon chucking a shovel.
She chuckled at that thought, "Do you think we would be friends if we had only met like a normal person and not with you thinking Kit was a Hag?" She asked, this was something she wondered about often, what would her life be like, had she not dared to break the rules, that fatful night?
It was sometimes needed to Break rules, other times it was not. And that night, it had been needed.
